Side Chapter Hood 3: Moonglow Ergency Red

“I will ask again.” Deep within the moon inside the reinforced base, Juptar’s commander asked again to his silent audience. “I need a status report on what just happened.”

Everyone was wearing their full body equipnt ready for the mission at hand, but even with their facial features hidden, everyone had a clear tinge of nervousness visible surrounding each of them.

They were prepared, everything was on track until whatever happened. What had exploded in their face?

Juptar’s commander audience was made of three team leaders and a bunch of other high-level mbers on the base.

One of them who just finished talking over communication spoke up, “Understood. From 4:45 Juptar, 8:00 Earth Newcastle Operation ti, when Operation Moonglow started. An intruder hijacked one of our teleportation pads and made their way into the base. Three individuals however were successfully teleported onto Earth, but 96% of everyone else who was in the waiting bay has passed away.

Currently, we have ordered 80% of the 1~5 tier mbers to chase after the suspect after they blew a hole in the base. Leader Neva along with his squad that were stationed on Juptar have gone to incept the suspect as well.”

“Thank you Four.” Juptar’s commander turned to another mber, one of their technicians. “Do we know what portal the intruder entered from?” An important question for the after-mission report.

“We don’t, but the information should be stored and transferred to our Earth database. We just can’t access it directly right now due to those communications being destroyed.”

“Good, the after-mission team can deal with the potential Leak.”

A morbid curiosity spread among the group. A leak was a big deal and they had the thods to track one down, but they all knew they wouldn’t get an answer until after the situation was dealt with.

The Hood mber who gave the status report earlier spoke again, “Got a ssage, Neva has gone to directly incept now.”

“Good.” Juptar’s commander replied.

After a few monts another female mber spoke, “We’ve reconnected with the Earth operation, our personnel on the ground have located Nina Clarword, and are prepared to engage.”

“Tell them to follow the plan, we will get the leaders down in a mont. We have spare pads but it will take an hour to contact them.”

“Understood, they have been inford and now are keeping a general watch from a safe distance.”

This was an important operation that Juptar’s commander was for sure not going to let fail just because of one intruder.

A little bit of ti passed, “Has the intruder been dealt with?”

“Not yet, Neva is still attacking them. It should be over soon.”

“Good.” Juptar’s commander replied again, his confidence from earlier still remained.

Neva was over level 250.

Many people had trouble exceeding the level 150 barrier, even more so with level 200. Dominous Hood was no expectation.

In the hunting industry, to be called a high-level hunter, you had to be above level 200. Besides the strength, to reach that level, one would’ve needed to have had a lot of experience in the field. And to be considered a Team Leader in Dominous Hood, unless provided a special exception, you needed to be level 250 or above.

Dominous Hood had many harsh training sessions, aiming to get their mbers up to around level 150. After that, they couldn’t find a way to consistently get people above that threshold so they just left it to natural talent and made up for any gaps with state-of-the-art equipnt.

They had killed many high-levelled hunters even at a lower level through their planning, experiences, and equipnt, they knew full well how to handle human-level threats.

Then they received an ergency signal through their communication. One that would automatically go through when soone disconnected.

Juptar’s commander gritted their teeth, “Neva has gone down.”

One of the Hood mbers asked, “Do we give up on Operation Moonglow?”

“No.” Juptar’s commander stood up, “We are just going to change the approach.”

He activated the communication line. First, he sent a ssage to two individuals, “Leaders Brox and Beta, regroup with at site five. We will be dealing with the threat.”

Then he sent a second ssage to everyone else, “Everyone, prepare for a one-way jump, spread out over sites six to eight. Follow your Leaders, but after the trip disperse and hide. It will be a one-way trip.”

Aunty… what the fuck are you doing…

Lila was once again communicating with her leader, and the situation was far from good.

From the little she could gleam, the situation on the base was bad. Which would normally be a good thing for Lila, but from how her leader was talking, it seed like they were about to take drastic asures.

“Argh well, it’s not too often I get to flex my muscles.” Her leader complained over coms.

Lila was internally screaming, as she tried to stay in position to get a wide view of the city while having the Stella family nearby.

Dammit Nina, why the fuck did you have to show up there?!
