Chapter 141: Ch 141: The end is all I see- Part 4

The mont they arrived, Noah bolted forward without hesitation.

’I am the only one who can deal with this monster. Selene is counting on , so I cannot afford to ss this up.’

Noah felt motivated to do his best. It almost felt like he had taken a drug that made him more attentive and sensitive to his powers.

His movents were sharp, calculated, and deadly. He weaved through the dungeon’s uneven terrain, ice forming beneath his feet as he propelled himself forward like a blade slicing through air.

But before he could reach the monster, Selene’s hand shot out and caught his wrist.

Noah halted abruptly, turning to look at her.

"I’ll boost you."

She said firmly.

Then, lowering her voice, she added.

"But don’t tell anyone about my ability. I’m a support and I would rather not broadcast this to the world."

Noah’s eyes widened slightly at her words. Then, without hesitation, he nodded.

"I promise."

Even Noah knew that letting his family know about Selene’s capabilities was a bad thing. She would either get ridiculed or captured to be used by family.

The mont Selene activated Amplify, Noah felt it.

Power surged through his veins like a storm.

His body felt lighter, faster, stronger—like he had suddenly been unshackled from invisible restraints.

For a brief mont, it was intoxicating.

His fingers twitched. His mind raced with possibilities. He felt as if he could do anything, as if he had beco limitless.

And for a second—just a second—he wondered how much stronger he could get.

But then—

"Noah."

Selene’s voice cut through the fog in his mind.

His senses snapped back into focus.

Right. He wasn’t here to indulge in his newfound strength.

He was here to win.

’Fucking hell! This is one hell of a drug! There is no way I can let the family find out about this. They will never let Selene leave.’

This was no ti to be thinking useless things. So Noah dragged himself out of the annoying mindset he was and decided to continue his attack.

Noah launched himself at the monster.

It was massive—a hulking creature with six legs, a serpentine body, and armor-like scales that shimred under the dungeon’s eerie light. Its glowing red eyes tracked Noah’s movents, and in an instant, it lunged.

Noah barely dodged, flipping mid-air and landing smoothly on the monster’s back.

His blade pierced the thick scales, ice spreading from the wound and freezing the area on impact. The monster roared in fury, its entire body thrashing as it tried to throw him off.

Noah gritted his teeth. Even with Selene’s boost, the monster was tougher than expected.

Orion watched the battle unfold, his fingers twitching at his sides.

"...Do you think he’ll win?"

He asked quietly.

Madam Verta interjected before Selene could respond.

"All I see in Noah’s future is death. You shouldn’t be so confident in him."

She said flatly.

Orion’s expression hardened.

"Tch. You’re a bitch!"

Her words were unsettling, but more than that—they annoyed him.

"You keep acting like your visions are absolute. Didn’t you just admit you were wrong earlier?

He muttered.

Madam Verta stiffened.

Still, she didn’t back down.

"I wasn’t wrong. The future simply changed at that mont. But what I see now hasn’t shifted."

She turned toward Selene.

"Are you still going to sit there and act like everything is fine?"

Selene stood up.

Orion glanced at her.

"Selene?"

Selene’s eyes were sharp, but her expression remained calm.

"I have a plan."

Madam Verta scoffed.

"A plan? What could you possibly do?"

Selene looked at her, her voice firm.

"I’ll fight."

Madam Verta let out a sharp laugh.

"That won’t change anything."

Selene simply smiled.

"It doesn’t matter. I’ll still try."

Sothing about those words struck a nerve.

Madam Verta’s expression twisted.

"You—"

But Selene was already gone.

Madam Verta clenched her jaw.

"She’s a fool."

Orion, who had been silent, suddenly turned and glared at her.

Madam Verta flinched.

Orion’s gaze was sharp, filled with a quiet fury she hadn’t expected from the usually carefree boy.

"...Shut up."

Madam Verta imdiately looked away.

______

Selene dashed toward Noah, pulling out a small dagger as she moved.

Noah, mid-battle, glanced at her in shock.

"Selene?!"

Selene took a deep breath, her fingers tightening around the dagger in her hand. Noah was strong, but the monster was even stronger. He was fast, but the beast was feral, unpredictable, and getting more vicious by the second.

She had to do sothing.

No ti to hesitate.

Selene activated Borrow for the first ti.

Imdiately, her vision dimd for a second, her muscles screaming in protest at the sudden drain on her energy. Borrowing another’s power was no small feat—the system made sure of that.

She barely had ti to check what skills were available to her, so she made a split-second decision.

"System, give

any kind of binding skill I can use to restrain this thing!"

A notification flashed before her eyes:

[Temporary Skill Acquired: Chains of Subjugation

Skill DescriptionSummon ethereal chains to bind the target to the ground.]

That would do.

Without hesitation, she activated the skill.

Thick, glowing chains burst into existence, snapping around the monster’s massive limbs like unbreakable shackles.

The beast screeched, its thrashing body dragged down to the ground as the chains tightened, forcing it flat against the dungeon’s uneven terrain.

’This power...is it Ethan’s? Fuck! This is so powerful even when it is only at 25% and my stats are garbage. Just what kind of monster is Ethan?’

Noah saw the opening.

His blade flashed as he prepared to end it with a single, clean strike—

But—

"Noah, stop!"

Noah halted mid-swing, his sharp gaze snapping toward Selene.

"What?"

Selene took a steadying breath.

"I don’t think this thing will die unless both bosses are killed at the sa ti."

Noah frowned but didn’t question her further. Instead, he watched as she pulled out her communicator and called Ethan.

"Ethan, status?"

Ethan’s voice ca through, as calm and confident as ever.

[We have the boss restrained. We were just waiting on you since you told us to hold off.]

Selene exhaled in relief.

"Good. Finish it now."

[Got it.]

The mont the call ended, Selene turned to Noah.

"Do it."

Noah grinned, sharp and eager, before bringing his sword down.

The monster let out one final, piercing roar before it collapsed, its body disintegrating into dust.

A brilliant corestone fell to the ground.

The dungeon was cleared.
