Inside an underground building within the facility, there was a large group of people that had congregated there. All of them had gloomy expressions on their faces.

They were all seated on chairs that were facing a small podium in front of them. From ti to ti, they would frown, while so of them showed so dissatisfaction.

From the clothes that they were wearing, it was obvious that all of them were mbers of the higher society before the apocalypse descended.

This was also why they were all here today, it was simply because they had followed the invitation of the leader of the facility. All of them were investors in the facility, and as a result, they all wished to see the progress of the project that they were carrying out.

"I believe that all of you can see the results of investing in the facility. The predictions that we made previously, are the ones that have given us the results." In front of the group, on top of a small podium, a man with so of his hair already turning gray spoke.

"I inford all of you the previous night that, there had been so mysterious fluctuations in the air. And for that reason, all of you had to be prepared, as we don’t know what was going to co, either good or bad." The man continued.

"I know that so of you completely ignored my warning. Although it is also true that I inford you late, the truth still stands, I gave all of you a warning."

"And here we are. Out of nowhere, wild animals charged towards the facility. Although it is true that we are located in the middle of a forest, the number of wild animals that had charged out of it are higher in number as compared to the real total number of wild animals present in the forest."

When he reached to this point, he remained silent as he observed the expressions of the people that were listening to him.

"Chairman, I can understand that you and the project that you suggested to be carried out maybe true, or they may be false. But all the sa I don’t care. What I care about is the fact that, you requested for us to co over, when you definitely knew the results, that everything was going to be like the way it’s?" A man with a pot belly stood up and questioned.

He was amongst the most dissatisfied people present. He had always lived a life filled with luxury, but today, he had been forced to stay inside a plain building, without anything to entertain him.

As long as he dared to go out, then he would be torn into pieces by the wild animals that were running rampant outside.

"Mr. Peters, I can understand where you’re coming from. But, you will have to understand our situation as well. We had already gotten the signals from the project, but we were not sure about the results." The man on the podium replied calmly.

"And for that reason, we decided that you might as well co over, spend one or two days before we release the final results. But, what happened was completely out of our expectations." He continued.

"Mr. chairman, even if that is the case, we have all invested large amounts of money in this facility of yours. Don’t tell that you don’t even have security guards that can take care of the wild animals." An old lady spoke.

The mont that she expressed her worries and doubts, all the other people present erupted. And for that reason, the entire room was filled with buzzing complaints. There were even so of them that were even cursing.

"Alright, alright. Calm down now. I can understand all of you. You know, you cannot bla . There are many wild animals as compared to the security personnel that we hired." The man sighed as he responded.

"And as you can see, I am also here, in the sa position as you are. If I had anticipated that sothing like this was going to happen, I would not have been here, and neither would all of you."

"But, you don’t have to worry that much. It won’t be long before the group of monsters are cleared out. There is a special team that should be arriving in no ti."

When the group heard that, they finally began relaxing. They had already been staying in the building for more than 6 hours. Although they had eaten because there was food there, but it was not enough for over 70 people to satisfy themselves.

And for that reason, they had already began getting impatient, wanting to get back to their hos. So of them thought that, this secret project that they had been carrying out was way riskier than they thought.

For that reason, the majority of them had decided that, once they got out of here, they would not dare to step a foot here. It was way better for them to spend their ti in their comfortable hos, rather than investing in so projects that they didn’t even have an assurance that they were going to succeed.

When the man on the podium noticed that the crowd had finally cald down, he got down from the podium, and went into another room that was situated within the building.

There, he t with his assistant. His eyes were already flashing with a chilling glint. "Activate project 3102." He instructed before going ahead to sit behind the desk that was present in the room.

The assistant was imdiately surprised. He had not expected that the chairman was this decisive. "Chairman, are you sure about this? This is too dangerous. Additionally, it was supposed to be confidential, even to the investors."

The chairman rubbed his forehead, as he replied helplessly. "It is not that I want them to know about project 3102. It is just that, we don’t have any other choice. The number of monsters that have attacked this ti around is higher than previously."

"We have already tried contacting the security personnel, but none of them is responding. Since that is the case, we can assu that they have already been killed."

The assistant remained silent as he knew that what The chairman had said was true. After all, before they entered the underground building, they had already witnessed the massacre that was being done by the monsters.

"Okay. I will imdiately do as you ordered." As the assistant replied, fear flashed in his eyes.

After the assistant left, the chairman continued sitting behind the desk. At the sa ti, he let his thoughts begin wondering.

’What could have gone wrong this ti? The number of monsters that was supposed to attack this ti wasn’t supposed to be this high. They should have been four or five of them. This was supposed to be enough to make sure that this group continued funding our projects. But now, things have already gone out of control.’

This man was none other than the chairman, or it could be said to be the founder of the facility, Chris Phillips.

He was a retired scientist, and had been doing his own research on this island. Previously, it had been private. He had been researching several ans that were going to change the perspective of the world.

But, due to the fact that the funds that he possessed were not enough to support him to complete the projects, he had no choice but to seek funds from another source.

For that reason, he had no choice but to get engaged in other types of research. After showing the results of the research, these wealthy and greedy people imdiately agreed to fund him.

Of course, there were so of them that had refused to fund his projects. But, that was sothing that he didn’t care about, as long as the funds that he received were enough.

But, due to the fact that he was forced to engage in different researches, he had no choice but to begin abducting several experts in different fields. This way, he would be able to get people that would carry out the research for him.

Of course, this was sothing that he had done using the influence that he possessed in the underworld. For that reason, every kidnapping that happened, it was difficult to be traced to it’s destination. And till this day, there was nobody that had been able to find out that he was the one behind the kidnappings.

As long as there were so results about the kidnappings, he would always find scapegoats. This was the way that he had been surviving all this long.

And this ti, he had invited all those that had been funding him for the previous 5 years, to co over. The main reason behind this was due to the fact that, he wanted to make them increase their investnts.

He had already reached a stage that, the funds that he was receiving was not enough. So, he had to look for other ans that he was going to utilize to squeeze out money from these money bags.

To be able to do that, he had to offer them so benefits. And because he possessed many skilled experts, or genius juniors that were supposed to be nurtured, he didn’t think that it was sothing hard to be able to give them the benefits.

Project 3102 was sothing that he had been keeping a secret. This was the main reason as to why he had co over to this island, and built a research center.

Due to the funding that he had received, he was able to progress well in the project. But, the project was not yet complete. And for that reason, even though he had given the order for the project to be activated, he was still worried.

’If things get out of control, then I will have no choice but to resort to that.’ At this mont, Chris thought of sothing, as resolution flashed in his eyes.
