TESSA POV

It took a week for all the warriors to arrive in the city and we arranged where and when to et them in the woods outside the city.

We all got prepared at the mansion and tensions were high. You could practically cut it with a knife. No one knew what was going to happen or who was going to co ho. And the worry that I felt coming off of Tyler was palpable. I couldn’t figure his emotions out at all. Or these glances that I saw him constantly exchanging with Aria. And the secret little mind links that them two had going on.

I left my engagent ring in the nightstand at the mansion because it would break when I shifted and I didn’t want anything to happen to it. And Tyler and I headed downstairs to et up with the others and again, we left in small groups carrying backpacks headed to the woods outside of town.

By the ti everyone had arrived it was just after sundown. So Angelo and my aunt’s and uncle’s had caught up to us.

All of us wolves needed to take our clothes off and we all put them in backpacks and then shifted into our wolves. We picked the bags up in our mouths and we started running through the woods.

Vampires were damn fast at running, that was a common fact of vampires. But werewolves were just as fast. The trees flashing by us like we were in a high speeding car. So it only took half an hour to get to the town of Phoenix.

We had the entire town surrounded and I needed to shift back and I got dressed again. I was with Tyler, Tobias and two other warriors from our pack. They needed to be from our pack so that we could all mind link with each other.

"Just rember everyone. Don’t let them bite you. Otherwise you will beco hybrids as well. If they bite you and don’t kill you then you will be turned into a vampire too." Angelo warned everyone before we fully split up.

We couldn’t mind link with Ethan’s pack so that’s why we prepared so much to make sure that everyone knew where everyone else was. And once we were in position we were actually able to see how many people were walking around the town.

This place was crawling with vampires and my group positioned ourselves behind the only house in the town where the witches were living.

I could see through the window and they didn’t look too young until I saw the Shadow witch and they all got along really well. Those witches weren’t here against their will. They were here because they wanted to be here. They were just as guilty. So that answered one of the questions I had about them. No one will get out of here alive. Not them anymore.

I snuck up towards the back door and I tried the door handle but it was locked so I grabbed so tools out of my backpack and I picked the lock and I opened the door.

I walked inside the house quietly which wasn’t easy. It was a rickety old thing with a lot of loose floor boards that would creak under my feet and I had three giant wolves following . They weren’t letting out of their site for a mont. So they weren’t letting go into the house alone.

Tyler was getting nervous and walked right beside and nudged my hand on top of his head so that I was constantly touching him and I could tell that it was making him feel better.

I looked out the window and I saw the wolves and our vampires were slowly approaching the town. But sothing seed off. How could all these vampires with advanced hearing not know that we were here already. They would have heard us by now. We should already be fighting.

’Sothing isn’t right.’ I mind link my pack.

’What do you an?’ Tyler asks.

’There’s no way these vampires don’t know that we’re not here already. It’s a trap.’ I conclude.

’What should we do?’ Parker asked.

’We’re not turning back. They think that we’re sneaking up on them. Attack now.’ I ordered.

So Parker let out the roar which was the order and our army charged straight into the town. And I was right. The vampires were waiting. But they weren’t expecting us to co charging in the way that we did, so they scrambled to get to their posts and so luckily didn’t make it that far before they were t with a wall of werewolves and torn apart.

I then appeared in the kitchen doorway and the Shadow witch turned around to look at and the other two witches stood beside her.

"Geez mom. I thought you said that she was powerful. She doesn’t look scary at all." One of the girls says. Okay, so these girls were her daughters. I guess that makes sense. Except for the fact that I didn’t know what man would ever go near the Shadow witch. Especially not with the burns to the side of her face and her arms and legs. I guess that was my fault.

"Nice look. The burnt look doesn’t really suit you though." I say. And she hissed at when I said that.

One of her daughters charged at and I flicked my hand to the side and she flew across the room and through the wall into the next room.

"Been practicing I see." Annabelle says.

"Well, I got the better of you last ti I saw you. Didn’t I?" I asked.

"That was my own ignorance. I won’t be that stupid this ti." She insisted.

"I doubt that." I say. And she heard the wolves growl behind .

"I see your mate won’t leave your side. You know that he’s afraid you’re going to go evil. That’s you’re going to love the power too much and beco addicted." Annabelle says.

"I know. Him and his cousin have been researching it for days." I say and I give Tyler a sideways glance. He looked away because he obviously didn’t know that I knew.

"You do like the power." Annabelle says.

"Who the fuck wouldn’t. Of course I love the power. Especially if it ans I get to end you." I say.

Her daughter then tried to sneak an attack on by throwing a ball of electricity at my head which I dodged and it burnt through the wall beside where I was standing.

"Wow. That was pathetic." I teased. And I threw my hand in her direction and forced her backwards towards the bench and then raised her off the ground without touching her.

She was choking by an invisible force around her neck and she couldn’t breathe. I waited until she lost consciousness before I dropped her to the ground and Annabelle just stood there watching.

"Wow. You deserve mother of the year for that one." I teased.

"They wanted to be here. I didn’t force them." She says.

"Yeah. You did actually. Because they wanted to get to know their mother. Are parents really this stupid?" I asked looking around.

"As long as I have Josiah then I don’t care about anything else." She says.

"Well, don’t plan on Josiah being there for you for much longer." I say looking out the window at the war that was ensuing in the town.

I heard Tyler shift back to his human form and he grabbed my bag and got so shorts out that I didn’t even know that he put in there. And he stood right behind while the other two stayed in wolf form.

"I hope you don’t think that scares ." Annabelle says.

"He’s here for . Not you. He’s not going to stop from killing you." I say.

"Good." She says. And she threw a bolt of electricity at that I had to duck away from and she bolted out of the hole in the wall that her daughter went through.

"Don’t let her leave this house." I yelled at the wolves. So one ran in one direction and the other in another direction.

"She can transport." Tyler says.

"I know." I say getting up. And we walked back down the hall to the next room where her daughter was still unconscious on the ground and she Annabelle was in there looking down at her daughter.

That was when I realized that her daughter landed on a sharp fireplace poker and was dead. and Annabelle looked at with fury in her eyes. I guess she did actually care after all. Or she only cared about one more than the other.

When she lifted her head her eyes were completely black and there was nothing but fury on her face.

"Tyler. You might want to step away from right now." I say. And he does take a few large steps away. He knew that he couldn’t help here, this was my fight and he was going to get hurt. He knew that I couldn’t live with myself if he got hurt right now.

"You’re going to pay for this." She hissed at .

"You chose the wrong side. This was your fault. Not mine." I say and she threw a line of electricity at that hit in the stomach and I flew back against the wall.

I was about to get up when she hit again and I fell back to the ground. Tyler growled and he stood in the way. He went to charge at her and she raised her hand and lifted him off the ground and threw him across the room and got him out of the way.

The two wolves ran at Annabelle but she raised her hand at them and she froze the both of them in ice and they were stopped exactly where they were. They obviously couldn’t move after that.

I managed to get to my feet again but she hit my again with that string of electricity and she used it to raise off the ground against the wall and I was pinned to the roof of the hallway with imnse pain along with it.

I tried not to let out a scream. But I couldn’t help it. I was stuck where I was. I couldn’t get down and it was painful. Tyler was unconscious and the other two couldn’t move. I was on my own.

I tried to free myself from where I was, out of her hold but it was useless. She raised her second hand causing my electricty to surge into and I scread in pain.
