A couple of years ago, during the night of the Crimson Moon, the mbers of the Society of Knowers gathered around the stone table.
"Hmm… Starface is late."
Alec said as he checked the ti on his gold-rimd tipiece and noticed that she was more than thirty minutes late.
"She'll be here, but should we start with looking at the mirror? I am quite curious about the current situation over at Hermann City!"
lia said with a smile.
"Sure—"
However, at that mont, they heard rushed footsteps coming from the direction of the street and saw a ssy-haired woman with a star mask running over.
"Sorry for being late!"
Morgana said with an ashad look, went up the stairs, and took her usual spot at one of the stone thrones.
"Hmm? There is sothing different about you…"
lia said with a sharp gaze.
"Haha, I knew I couldn't fool your eyes. I visited an altar about an hour ago, and I officially beca a level 6 Mystic!"
Morgana said excitedly.
With surprise, the Society of Knowers congratulated her. They already knew that she was close to being level 6, but they thought it would require more ti, but it looked like she had found a way to increase the strength of her vessel back in Whitesky.
"What's your class na?"
Lyrian asked curiously.
"It's sothing of Scared Gazer. I've received an ability that allows to look at things that I am afraid to see.
"I haven't tried it yet, but should I do it now?"
She asked.
With obvious nods, the Society of Knowers encouraged her to test out her new ability and curiously awaited to see what she would discover.
"First of all, I can only see things that I am afraid to see. I don't have anything that cos to my mind right now that I am truly afraid of…"
Morgana said with a troubled look.
"Hmm… It's a dangerous ability, as what you're afraid to see is most likely related to evil gods and things like that. Using your ability to look at gods will never end well."
Eron said with a troubled look.
"I know you didn't want to hear this, Starface, but I know one person you're afraid of—the Wretched One—as didn't She kill your family?"
lia said.
"W-Wretched One… She is an Evil Goddess of the Rav'akari. I-I don't want to look at her; I really don't want to. Please don't make do it!"
Morgana pleaded while trembling like a leaf in the wind, and Lyrian ca to her side to comfort her.
However, at that mont, Morgana's eyes rolled back into her skull, and her flesh turned crimson flesh like a ripe apple.
Her tongue lolled out of her mouth, and her head then dropped limply to the side—it looked like she fainted—and everyone just looked at her in shock.
"What's going on?!"
"She must be accidentally using her ability. It's because she just beca a Scared Gazer; that's why she hasn't learned how to control that ability!"
"Stop her then! Wake her back up!"
…
With shaking eyes, Morgana's gaze pierced through the fog, through the darkness, and through ti itself.
She appeared in the ceiling of a hall of so sort—she was invisible, and she couldn't feel her body—but she saw ten figures kneeling before the throne.
The throne was massive, as if it was designated to a giant, and there was a massive woman sitting on it.
She had crimson hair that cascaded down her back, a face shrouded behind shadowy mist, and a regal expression that showed she was not to be trifled with.
On top of her head, there was a bleeding crown that seed to be suffering, and she wore a tattered cloak that billowed behind her in the wind.
"Co forward, human…"
She said, her voice a haunting echo in the empty chamber.
'T-That's the Wretched One. Is She talking to ?'
Morgana asked with a fear so imnse that it threatened to consu her whole.
However, it looked like the words were directed at soone else, as amidst the ten figures, one person stood up, and approached the throne.
The person was an adult male—Morgana couldn't catch a good look at him—but she saw him kneel before the throne.
'Why is a human kneeling to Her…?'
"You've done well, for a human. Fifteen years ago, you gave us the ritual to co to the Realm Between and helped to make this place our ho.
"Since then, you have shown your loyalty to the cause, and thus, you have earned a place among my most loyal subjects.
"Thus, you shall beco my Tenth Finger.
"I shall bestow you with the divinity of Patience, and therefore, you shall be known as Wrathful Patience."
The Wretched One said.
With a deep bow, the human thanked her with all his heart, and at that mont, the Wretched One turned smaller, human-sized, and then plucked one of her fingers out and handed it to the human.
Without further ado, the human ate the finger, swallowed it fully, and then started squirming as the power of the evil divinity surged through his body.
"Aaaaaaaaargh!"
With the finger fully digested, the human thanked her and joined the other figures in kneeling towards her.
"Your Malevolence, I have sothing to bring to your attention!"
A black-haired man shouted, and he raised his head, looking with his cold, dark eyes at the Wretched One.
"My Nefarious Humility~ What is it?"
The Wretched One asked with a wicked smile.
Standing up, Nefarious Humility stood tall—he was no longer a boy—and he'd turned out extrely handso with skin as white as snow and jet-black hair.
"This!"
Nefarious pulled out a bullet from his pocket—it had clearly been used, as it was dented and gleaming with dried blood.
"This is the bullet that the Lord of the Realm Between killed himself with. I've been studying and trying to find out more about this bullet.
"I finally found its maker, the one who forged it with blood and dark magic, and he told while I was torturing him that bullet was also blessed by the Outlaw Goddess.
"They gave the bullet a na—Bullet of Reincarnation—and thus I have a reason to believe that he, in fact, is not yet dead!"
Nefarious said.
"Oh…? I expected as much. The one known as Lord of the Realm Between wouldn't kill himself that easily.
"He is a cowardly man who cared about his own survival more than anything. Him killing himself went against everything he stood for."
The Wretched One said coldly, but at that mont, she looked over to the ceiling as she sensed sothing.
With her godly gaze, she saw a lingering gaze over there and shouted so loud that all the castle windows shattered.
"How dare you trespass on my domain! The gaze that does not belong in this ti!"
With a frightened look, Morgana got thrown through ti, and she appeared back in her stone throne.
However, her eyes were bleeding.
"Oh my god!"
"Starface, are you alright?!"
Everyone rushed over to her while Morgana sobbed and cried out in pain—the crimson blood trickled down her cheeks—and her mouth trembled.
"I-I've co across so information!"
