"Miss Zhong, previously, whenever any stranger got close, she would be so scared that she’d scream loudly. Today, you ran over and hugged her, and Aunt Yu wasn’t scared or resisted. This is enough to show how special you are to her. I believe that as long as we have enough patience, Aunt Yu will definitely get better."

The caregiver beside her, having finished speaking, turned her gaze to Yu Lu. She had been taking care of Yu Lu for many years, and over the years, they’d developed a bond.

Zhong Li stood up from the ground: "Thank you for always taking care of my mom."

"Miss Zhong, you’re being polite; this is what I’m supposed to do."

Zhong Li smiled and nodded, bending down to assist Yu Lu by the arm: "Mom, let’s go down for dinner."

Yu Lu obediently stood up from the sofa and followed Zhong Li downstairs.

"Mom, let’s walk slowly. Be careful on the stairs so you don’t fall," Zhong Li said patiently.

Zhong Li scooped a spoonful of soup, blew it cool, and then brought it to Yu Lu’s mouth. Yu Lu looked at Zhong Li, opened her mouth, and drank the soup from the spoon.

Qi Weidong also sat down at the dining table and looked at the caregiver standing by: "Xiao Zhang, have a seat and join us for the al. We don’t have so many rules in our house."

"Thank you, Mr. Qi." The caregiver nodded, pulled out a chair, and sat down next to Yu Lu.

After finishing the al, Zhong Li first helped Yu Lu back to the room to rest. The caregiver cleaned up the dining room and kitchen before going upstairs as well.

"Maybe I walked a bit too much today; it’s a little swollen."

Gu Nanxi moved Zhong Li’s hand away from her ankle: "You sit here quietly and don’t move. I’ll get so ice to ease it for you."

"Not at all." Zhong Li leaned back against the bed: "Why don’t we stay here tonight? I want to spend more ti with my mom."

"Sure, whatever makes you happy."

Yu Lu silently watched the TV screen, her eyes blinking slightly.

The caregiver brought over so freshly washed fruit and placed it on the coffee table: "Miss Zhong, Aunt Yu goes to bed at nine every night, on the dot."

Qi Weidong, sitting on the nearby sofa, watched the mother and daughter duo, a content smile appearing on his lips.
