Han Yaxin glared at Zhong Li with a dark expression: "You live across from Nancy?"

Zhong Li picked up the knife and fork from the dining table, sliced off a small piece of beef, and put it into her mouth. She looked up at Han Yaxin, her gaze chilled: "Is there a problem?"

"Nancy, I’m your girlfriend after all. How can your assistant speak to like this? She’s too rude."

"It’s after work hours now, and besides, I’m President Gu’s assistant, not your assistant."

Han Yaxin threw down the knife and fork in her hand and stood up angrily from the chair: "Do you even understand your position? What right do you have to speak to like this? Believe , I can have Nancy fire you in seconds."

Zhong Li laid down the knife and fork, her uplifted gaze cold as the bleak late autumn: "This is your true self, so why do you keep pretending? Isn’t it tiring?"

Han Yaxin realized she had lost her composure after Zhong Li’s remark. She pitifully grabbed Gu Nanxi’s hand: "I was just upset by her; you know I’m not like this."

"Alright, sit down and eat your al."

Gu Nanxi’s thin lips held a subtle smile, revealing nothing of his thoughts at the mont.

After dinner, Zhong Li sat on the sofa waiting for the locksmith, while Han Yaxin clung to Gu Nanxi like a piece of stubborn tape: "Nancy, can I stay here tonight?"

"Sure."

Han Yaxin happily kissed Gu Nanxi’s sharply defined cheek: "I’ll go upstairs to shower first."

Gu Nanxi said nothing, bending down to pick up the remote control on the coffee table and change the channel.

Zhong Li initially didn’t want to interfere, but as he was her boss, she couldn’t bear to see him being deceived. After hesitating for a few minutes, she spoke up: "President Gu, your girlfriend is not as gentle and well-behaved as she seems. Careful not to get aboard a pirate ship."

"Do you know Yaxin?"

Gu Nanxi raised his gaze to Zhong Li, his eyes deep and inscrutable.

Zhong Li shrugged: "No."

"Then why did you say that about her if you don’t know her?"

Her words made it seem as if Zhong Li was ddling.

"Then just pretend I said nothing, President Gu. I won’t disturb you anymore, I’m leaving."

After Zhong Li left, Han Yaxin erged from the bedroom wrapped in a towel, her long hair draping down her shoulders still dripping with water.

Unexpectedly, Han Yaxin sat on Gu Nanxi’s lap, hooking her arms around his neck, her chest lightly brushing against his body: "Nancy, let’s go to the room and rest."

Gu Nanxi solemnly removed her hands from around his neck: "You sleep in the guest room."

"I don’t want to. We’re in a relationship, so what’s wrong with sleeping together?"

Gu Nanxi stood up from the sofa, raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose: "When did I ever say we were in a relationship?"

"Then why did you agree to let stay here just now?"

Han Yaxin’s tear-streaked, pitiful face looked up at Gu Nanxi, so tragic it made one feel sorry for her.

"Either sleep in the guest room or I’ll take you ho now."

"I’m not leaving; I want to stay here."

Han Yaxin held onto Gu Nanxi crying, impulsively tiptoeing to kiss his lips, but Gu Nanxi avoided it: "I don’t like it when others kiss without my consent."
