The next morning, Han Xi groggily sat up in bed, feeling a slight pain from the wound on her back.
She picked up her phone from the bedside table and glanced at it; it was already nine o’clock in the morning. She had clearly set an alarm last night.
Lu Jinghan walked out of the bathroom, flashing a gentle smile at Han Xi, "I turned off the alarm, and I also arranged leave for you at the hospital. You should wait until your wound heals before going back to work."
"But I have a surgery scheduled for today."
Lu Jinghan walked to the bedside, leaned down, and kissed the corner of Han Xi’s mouth, "Don’t worry about it, just stay at ho and recover well, or else I won’t let you go to work."
"Alright then."
Han Xi had no choice but to obey. She lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and after freshening up in the bathroom and changing into so clothes, she went downstairs with Lu Jinghan.
In the dining room, Song ngng and Wen Yichen were already having breakfast. The little one tilted her head, lying on the table, "Should I call you brother too?"
"Hmm."
Wen Yichen ate his food quietly, looking like he stepped out of a painting.
Han Xi sat down on the chair next to Song ngng, raising her hand to tousle the little one’s head, "Did you sleep well last night?"
"I slept really well, but sister, this brother is so aloof. I told him a whole bunch of stuff and he only said one word."
Han Xi smiled and shook her head, "Brother just prefers being quiet, and besides, you shouldn’t always chat during als."
"Oh, I understand."
Lu Jinghan leaned over to pour Han Xi a cup of hot milk, "Rember to take your dicine after breakfast, and if you get bored at ho, let Manman and Chu Ci co over to keep you company."
"I got it. Are you coming ho for lunch?"
"Of course, I will since you’re here."
Lu Jinghan took a bite of the stead bun made by Sister Zhang, then looked up at the little one with concern, "ng ng, your sister is injured, so she can’t hold you, okay?"
"I’ll be good, brother-in-law, don’t worry."
Song ngng put down the milk cup she was holding and made a hand gesture towards Lu Jinghan, whose aning was unknown.
After breakfast, Lu Jinghan went to the office. Han Xi stayed in the living room with ng ng, drawing on the coffee table, while Wen Yichen sat beside them on the sofa watching TV.
"Thanks for standing up for last night," Han Xi suddenly turned and said.
"You’re my sister; if soone bullies you, how can I just stand by?"
Han Xi stood up from the carpet, happily rubbing Wen Yichen’s head, "It’s great to have you guys."
Wen Yichen turned away in mock disdain, "My hair’s going to get all ssy."
"Okay, okay, I won’t touch you."
Just as the words left her mouth, the villa’s doorbell rang. Han Xi went to open the door, "Manman, why are you here?"
"Lu Jinghan just called , said he was worried you might get bored at ho alone and asked to co over and keep you company."
Li Manman changed her shoes at the entrance and went to the living room. Seeing Wen Yichen on the sofa, she couldn’t help but ask, "Why is there a handso guy in your house?"
"He’s my brother, Wen Yichen."
Wen Yichen glanced at Li Manman and nodded politely, which was his way of greeting.
Li Manman took off her coat and sat next to Han Xi, "When did you get another brother?"
"I’ll tell you about it later. By the way, how’s everything with you and Feng Yi? Did he co to make up with you?"
Li Manman pulled a bitter smile, "Not only did he not co to find , he hasn’t even called."
