Chapter 151

The woman right in front of him was his mate. How could he let her suffer all this? He wished he had found her sooner. He could have protected her from all the pain. Protected her family. Those were all she cared about. But everything already happened. There was no use wishing for the past.

"I don’t know you enough. You’re a stranger to ." She voiced out. Her black orbs were shining from all the tears that were falling to her cheeks. "But thank you for feeling my pain." She closed her eyes and touched her forehead to his.

Right. They were both only half wolves. They could choose not to give in to their wolf instincts of being mates. But he had been longing for it. As for lisca, deep down, she was happy that she had one. She was just scared of what a mate would do to her. Of how it could affect her plans of revenge. Of how he would get hurt because of her. She feared having him just to lose him. So, she’d rather not have one then or not et him.

As for the situation now with the hunters. His life was in danger. Every supernatural was. Sohow, she knew that she had the ability to stop them. She had what it took. Being a hybrid human-wolf had its total benefit of being immune to the supernatural poison. The hunters couldn’t kill her by their chemicals.

"lisca."

Her heart swelled, and it thumped. She finally felt it beating inside her. Just a single word from him. Just the call of his na. It awakened her.

He cupped her cheeks. "Let take away your pain. Let fight this battle for you."

She tilted her head away as she opened her eyes and t his gaze. Zek wanted nothing more for her to be safe and sound. To be away from all the chaos, from the possibility of losing her. She had thought of revenge when her parents died. But now that they were alive instead, he knew she wouldn’t stop until she got them back. And he was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to stop her. He just knew that he couldn’t. He feared it.

"I’m sorry. But you’re asking for the impossible." That was it. She couldn’t let him do anything. No, when his life was at stake. She could never risk him. "They had taken so much from ." She stared at his vibrant eyes. She felt alive just by staring at it. "I wouldn’t let them take another. Not you, Ezekiel." She was shaking her head. "Never again. Never you."

She drew her face closer and shut her eyes as she touched her lips to his. She was the one who initiated it. She had been longing for him. It was just how her father had been to her mother. She could see the complete blissfulness in his eyes when Cabril gazed at licia. It was incomparable to anything.

Just as how lisca felt right now with Ezekiel. She had been restraining herself for so long that it all ca crushing down on her. Her insides were in turmoil for the heat that was between them. It was so much that she felt like burning.

He pulled her close, and she changed her position. She was straddling him on the ground. The night sky graced them with twinkling stars, and the moon was about to be unhidden by the clouds.

Zek never expected this kind of eting with her, but everything had been thrown off the bat when it ca to her. She was finally in his arms. Her warmth to his body. He devoured her mouth with such fervor. Her soft lips and sweet, supple skin were sending him volts of energy.

He took off her jacket as his lips traveled to her jaw, neck, and down her throat. He tasted of raspberries, which was her scent. He couldn’t help but nip at her skin. His fangs were threatening to slide down, and he let them.

lisca felt sothing sharp graze her skin, but she was far from being afraid. She was even craving it. "Go on. Have a taste." She pleaded.

"Later, love." He growled and got back to her lips. He was reigning in all her control not to hurt her with his hunger for her. She might not be able to take it all at once.

lisca wanted to shred his clothes off his body, but she didn’t want him to leave shirtless later, and anyone would feast at his perfect build. She already felt possessive of him. She had the right, though. He was her mate. Ezekiel was for her. And she was starting to get afraid that she might kill not just for revenge but anyone who would dare to take him from her.

She might have hesitated before. But she would stake her claim now. It took such great willpower to slightly pull herself from her and make their session halt. She cupped both his cheeks to make him look her in the eyes. His vibrant green eyes earlier had turned darker. He clearly did not like the interruption.

"You’re torturing ." His hold on her tightened so that he’d never allow her to escape again. "You could stab again all you want, but I would stab you back with my own weapon, mate."

That made her chuckle. He wanted to have her lips back, but she tilted her head away and forced his to remain a distance. She eyed him with all seriousness. And there was even a threat in her voice. She didn’t know where she got the courage back again, but the urge was slamming into her to never let this man slip away to another woman.

"Say you’re mine, Ezekiel." It was her turn to growl. "You’re mine, and no other woman would ever have you. Even my ghost would remain by your side. I’m selfish, and I wouldn’t let anyone have you, even in different lifetis." She wanted to feel ashad of what she was spouting, but it was her wolf side that was talking. That was claiming what was long due to be hers from the start.
