The princess had a hard ti processing what seed to be a proposition by Teo. Even though she kind of expected King Raxus to have sabotaged the mission he personally gave them, she didn’t really think Teo would offer to work around what the crazy king had instructed.

"Say that again," Elys said in a low whisper, "repeat what you just said, Teo."

The vampire knight smirked, and then said, "I just told you that I am offering you sanctuary once the bastard prince is gone."

Elys couldn’t begin to grasp at the possibilities that Teo had offered her. If she accepted, would the vampire knight actually give her more leverage than if she stayed with the bastard prince?

But putting that aside, would he even keep his promise?

What was her assurance?

Teo posed so many unknown variables. And even though he had been extrely polite with her with the seldom sarcasm thrown to her husband, Elys found it a lot difficult to trust Teo.

"What do you say, princess?" Teo asked her, "are you going to switch sides? I know Prince Aleksander had never treated you as a person, but I myself am different."

Elys was tongue tied.

There was a part of her that convinced her Teo’s offer was the better option rather than to stay with Aleksander. The man may be lower in rank compared to royalties of the Western Kingdom, but Teo was actually respected by many – sothing Prince Aleksander didn’t have.

She hesitated for several minutes on end.

Her eyes stared blankly at space in front of her. The battle that transpired within the palace throne room blurring with her muddled thoughts, even with the cries of innocent people and animals being murdered outside were at a deafening volu.

"Tell , princess," Teo asked once more, his voice lowering into a tempting tone.

True enough, his offer was tempting. Elys tried to list her pros and cons if she chose to fight him and the crown prince. The thought seed to be heavily leaning in on the greener side of the fields, but Elys couldn’t get rid of a feeling that held her back.

If she really wanted to, then all that needed to be done now was to let them kill her husband and continue with their raid on the Eastern Kingdom.

The princess bit her tongue. She couldn’t help but be frustrated as she was unable to think the best of options. She promptly switched sides and listed quickly the advantages and disadvantages of being with Prince Aleksander.

Things weren’t that great.

But she recalled one thing that seed out of place at the ti being, but was actually evidence for the bastard prince deserved to feel like there is hope in everything he does.

Right before he threw the scrolls Queen Euphemia insisted that he read, the prince had acted peculiar to Elys. He had shaken like he was about to burst from within, beads of sweat dripping from his face.

Finally, in a fraction of a very quick second, Aleksander told Elys to run.

"He unusually cared enough to warn of what was about to happen," Elys muttered under her breath, an awkward feeling rising inside her chest.

Slowly, but surely, as much as the princess was growing in on Aleksander, her husband was growing in on Elys too.

"What are you talking about, your highness?" Teo asked as he boldly turned his head to speak to Elys who had a very sharp sword in her adept hands, just a few milliters shy from his neck as well.

"I-I don’t know, Teo," Elys spoke louder this ti around. "All I know is that I don’t trust any vampire at all."

Elys grimaced as she ca to realize she was actually just choosing the lesser evil here at the mont.

Teo’s eyes turned cold with the words the princess responded with. He thought she wouldn’t have been stubborn in the face of an offer that had a big advantage to her, but here they were now.

"Then you chose to die," the vampire knight closed his eyes and added, "I have no regrets since I offered nicely, but you leave no choice, princess of the slaves."

In the blink of an eye, Teo used his magic to disappear and escape from Elys’ clutch. The vampire knight reappeared a split second later, standing over the werewolves that dogpiled together after being hit rcilessly by Prince Dominick.

He kicked at the werewolves, and they tumbled to the side, revealing the bastard prince who was buried below.

Elys almost forgot that he was even there, but when Teo reappeared near him, the princess was imdiately reminded.

The vampire knight reached out behind him, producing his special weapon of a spear. His eyes were locked straight at the princess, a corner of his lips lifting in a sarcastic manner.

The warrior princess slowly realized the vampire knight wasn’t just flashing his tal weapon for everyone to see – no one was actually watching as well.

Teo lifted the spear in the air.

"NO!" Elys

"Hey mutt," Prince Dominick called out the alpha, "why do you fight for this kingdom? I always thought the werewolves bowed to no one except their alpha."

"Its none of your damn business, vampire," Iyoha replied, throwing the prince a punch to which he was able to dodge in a split second.

"What a bumr," the prince pouted, "I just wanted to know, but you are so hostile while you throw a weak ass punch that couldn’t even hit its target. Could it be you are aiming for air? That would be most believable."

The werewolf was getting riled up by the pompous crown prince.

His eyes turned back to several werewolves of his pack that passed out and lain on the floor after being hit by Prince Dominick. Well... he hoped they were just unconscious.

The very thought of having soone die from his pack wrenched the alpha’s heart. He couldn’t bare to think of having another death from their already dwindling numbers.

The vampire had asked why soone like him was following orders from soone else, but the truth was – he wasn’t.

"Protect our kingdom from the outside and I will grant you sanctuary within the surrounding forests of our borders," he recalled Queen Euphemia offer a deal to him.

That had been perhaps six years already from this day.

The werewolves had been unwelcod for a very long ti. Humans feared them, used weapons unimaginable to try and eradicate them. Monsters see them as a threat and would always end up giving them a hard ti, fighting over territory and resources.

They were strong, but the monsters that road the forests they used to have lived in had evolved much stronger than them, killing a large portion of his pack when the food resource started to dwindle.

Since then, his pack were forced to wander from place to place, even when werewolves weren’t migratory in the first place.

"I will accept that offer, but the werewolves would be an autonomous group," Alpha Iyoha had bargained with the young queen back then, "We don’t answer to you, but we swear by our agreent if it would only be protecting the borders."

"That would be fine by ," Euphemia had answered imdiately, "the Eastern people never condones violence, but the threat of the expanding Western Kingdom can’t be dealt with by re words."

"I understand," Iyoha promptly replied. "My pack is tired of moving, we will defend your land if you let us stay and build our ho here. It is vast enough and offers plenty of resources, whereas the competition is minimal."

With that said, the two leaders of different races ca to an agreent that would last them several years.

"HEY! You are spacing out!" Prince Dominick yelled at Alpha Iyoha.

Majority of the werewolf pack were outside rescuing and evacuating anyone that needed help. There were those that fought the other vampires that ca with the crown prince and Teo, but their top priority was to keep the Eastern people safe.

The alpha werewolf’s eyes darted towards where his voice ca from, and noticed that the prince had picked up what looked like a huge but broken at the tip wooden pole. He assud perhaps it was a part of the destroyed throne room.

The prince raised the pole high like a javelin.

Iyoha sensed Prince Dominick was about to throw the said pole at him and make him into a barbecue, but he wasn’t giving him a chance to do such a thing.

With the last bits of his strength, disregarding every injury that he got since the attack from the vampires began, Alpha Iyoha rushed towards the vampire prince.

"RAAHH!!!" Iyoha yelled with all his might as he closed the distance between them.

Prince Dominick, seeing that the werewolf has gone crazy, threw the pole straight at him.

The pole flew fast, striking the werewolf where the prince aid at – his heart.
