Chapter 206: News from the Headmaster!

The next day, the news of the team advancing to the Sapporo Do again spread so fast like a wildfire. Just earlier in the morning, almost all the residents of the school knew about this already, with most of them gathering around the football players like they were the newest celebrities in school right now.

"Holy fuck, Hori! This is our third ti playing in the Do, right?!"

"How in the hell does it beco so easy to go there?! You guys are treating the do as your backyard, damn it!"

"Co on, Fuji! Can you ask the headmaster to bring us to the do to support you guys?"

"Ha~! Dream on! Do you think money grows from the trees?!"

Higo himself also enjoyed so of the attentions here. However, it died so quickly, especially right after Makino arrived at the classroom. Most of his classmates didn’t really co to support the team directly, so they didn’t know that Higo made a massive contribution to every win the team earned.

No, they still believed that Makino, the team’s captain, was the most crucial player on the team, and that was why they sward him imdiately after the boy arrived here.

"Ah... Back to my NPC life... What a dream of mine..." Higo sighed while resting his back against the chair. "I don’t get why Te is so keen on being the center of attention. That thing should be quite tiring, right? Would it be better to just smile coldly like an aloof goddess, right, Kumiko-chan?" He smiled teasingly at the girl sitting behind him.

"Oh, hush you!" Kumiko smiled while also slapping his back playfully. "At least, his presence is good to draw so attention from the crowd."

Makino seed to notice that they were chatting about him, as the boy suddenly glared and made so rude gestures with his hand. Both Kumiko and Higo just giggled softly, knowing that the boy should start to get overwheld right now. As his good friends, of course, they would just watch him from afar, letting him suffer slowly here.

He was saved, though, as their horoom teacher, Kurata-sensei, ca and signaled Kumiko to follow him. "The headmaster is asking for your presence. Go to his office, okay? You know that place, right?" He waved.

This brought silence to the room instantly, before several furious whispers could be heard echoing throughout the entire classroom.

"Damn! It should be related to the football club, right?"

"It should be! I an, she is the team’s head coach!"

"I wonder, though, what would it be?"

Of course, this also affected Higo. The boy knew that it would be a football-related one, but as for the topic? That was definitely a different question. Now, he had to guess blindly, and it also didn’t help that once Kumiko arrived, the girl just put her finger to her lips secretly while also giving him a mysterious smile.

’Don’t worry, I will tell you later.’ She mouthed silently.

That was also the beginning of the long and torturous school hours, where Higo couldn’t even concentrate for a single minute during the class here. His mind wandered far, trying to think of any possibilities here, just to find out that the more he thought, the more his wild imagination gave ridiculous ideas.

He wasn’t the only one, though. Makino also suffered from the sa problem, kept glancing at the girl from ti to ti. Unfortunately, no matter how he pleaded, the girl would still keep her mouth shut, not even giving any hint about it.

Fortunately, the school hour was finally over, and together with Kuroki, the four senior mbers of the team went to the club room together. Of course, they didn’t just walk in silence here. Makino still pestered her tirelessly, wanting to be the first one among the team to get the news.

"Co on, Kumiko-chan! Just a little hint, please!" He pleaded.

"If the others know that their captain can be like this, your image will be destroyed instantly, Makino-kun." Kuroki snorted amusedly. "Who would’ve thought that their strict captain would stoop so low so that he can get the news first and act high and mighty?"

"Yeah, exactly, Te! You need to curb your arrogance a little bit here!" Higo chid in, adding the salt to the wound.

"Bastard! Don’t think I don’t know that you also want to hear the news here, Chibi! I know you also looked at her secretly!" Makino retorted.

"Well, at least I still did it secretly! What’s wrong with that?!"

Their bickering went on for the rest of the journey, and they didn’t even notice that the club room was already in front of them. Makino coughed instantly, trying to maintain his stern image before entering the room.

There, the other mbers had already waited for them. It was understandable for the senior year students to be late, since the class would be a little bit longer for their preparation for the University Entrance Exam. They just barged in without apologizing, since everyone also understood this.

If anything, though, they were more surprised when Makino suddenly clapped quite loudly, silencing the whole crowd inside. "Okay, be quiet for a mont, everyone! Kumiko-chan has sothing to announce right now!"

Then, the attention shifted to the girl imdiately, as she was preparing her laptop and projector on the wall. Well, this was a normal operation, as usually, they would start evaluating their performance a day after the ga was over. They were more intrigued by the fact that it was Makino who announced it, as this was the first ti sothing like this had happened.

"Thank you for the help, Makino-kun," Kumiko smiled sweetly as she walked to the center of the class. "Well, today, we are just going for a normal evaluation like the usual. However, before that, I have sothing to tell you from the headmaster."

"The headmaster?" Now, everyone leaned forward, knowing that this would be a good thing for the team.

"Yup! Besides the bonus promise, like the usual, now, he offers 100 seats for any students who want to co and support us on the last day, and all are free! So, don’t worry about us fighting against Sapporo Otani’s crowd, because we are not going to fight alone next week!"
