Chapter 186: A Dominant Second-Half! An Easy Win?!

A mont later, the second half finally began, and with them leading two goals, Hakodate Nishi started to slow down the tempo, wanting to try more combinations that they had trained in the past to see whether it would work in a real ga or not.

Since the opponent was too weak, though, this data couldn’t be used as a main reference. Still, any success was good enough to build the players’ confidence, so Kumiko was willing to let them do more action and show off a little bit of their skill on the pitch.

Of course, there were still so people who were dissatisfied with the team’s second-half performance, especially those girls who were on the pitch right now.

"Why is it that Kenji-kun is replaced?" One girl there whined childishly.

"It must be that bitch, right? It is probably that she wants to gatekeep Kenji-kun for herself!" The other girl added the fuel here.

"That bitch! Who is she?!" The first girl growled, looking at Kumiko ferociously.

"Psst! She is the darling of the football club, their coach from the senior year, Kumiko Shishida! Have you never heard of her?!" Another girl hissed, trying to warn her friends.

Unfortunately, they seed not to realize how loud they were chatting here, as all the Hakodate Nishi mbers on the bench could hear their conversation clearly. Of course, the most embarrassed one here was Kenji, as no matter how thick-skinned he was, this was indeed a bit over the top, especially with his fangirls calling Kumiko a bitch or sothing like that.

Hell, the boy could even feel the hostility from the Fujinaga here, as if his senpai was blaming him for his brainless fans.

"You know, Kenji-kun..." Kumiko sighed helplessly. "Your friends sure are quite... Unique, if I have to say." She said it carefully.

"Fujinaga didn’t really have any reservations, though, just snorting sarcastically. "You don’t have to be polite here, Shishida-senpai, just call them out as a bunch of idiots, I swear the others will agree."

Even the twins choked when they heard that, not expecting their senpai to be so blunt like that. Kenji just sighed, rubbing his forehead due to a headache.

"I know that they said a lot of shits to Kumiko-senpai, but do you really need to return it like that, Senpai?" He said wryly.

"Bah! You don’t know anything about it! The more you are polite, the more they feel like they are above us!" Fujinaga waved off the concern nonchalantly. "You need to be firm and call out their idiocies straight in their face, or they will only act more aggressively! You don’t know how crazy those kinds of girls could be!"

"Oh? How so?" This ti, Denki joined the fun, wanting to gossip around.

Kumiko just sighed helplessly when she saw this, yet she had no intention of stopping them. Her eyes went back to the pitch, scanning around to check whether everything went well or not for her team.

The ga itself went into an expected pace, with the ho team players just holding the ball as long as possible, playing around in the midfield. Of course, it was not aimless. Takaaki and Usami kept moving like well-oiled engines, appearing on the joint of the opponent’s defense like a nace to distribute the ball to the frontside.

Those two really deserved the title of the team’s unsung hero, holding up the sky in the midfield for the team.

The offense also ran quite smoothly. Hori’s presence on the right side, coupled with Yuji, who went berserk on the other flank, unleashed a strong wave of wide attack for Hakodate Nishi. Coupled with Hiroshi as the creative painter behind the striker and Kuroki, who was superb at the aerial duel, this was definitely a nightmare for the opponent’s team.

True enough, the third goal finally ca when the ga entered the 65th minute. This ti, Kuroki managed to drag two defenders on his side, and a low cross from Yuji managed to reach Usami, who ca from behind.

The lowkey boy didn’t use any power, just a gentle technique to place the ball in the corner of the goal. However, it was enough to add the score for the ho team here.

"Yeah, Usami! That’s how you do it!"

"Nice positioning, Usami! It is rare for you to get that!"

"Good for you, Brat!"

After the team scored the third goal, Kumiko also took another action. Fujinaga and Sano, who were getting restless on the bench, finally had an opportunity to play, and this ti, they replaced Kazawa and Jun on the pitch. They both were defensive-minded players, so it was clear that the girl wanted to stabilize the ga right now.

This was definitely the right choice. She felt like the experint was enough, and coupled with the scouts who were recording everything on the sideline, so precautions were necessary. It would be foolish to reveal all her cards here, not when the opponent was still quite weak for them to go all out.

Even with them slowing down, though, Sapporo Kita’s players still failed to show any threat to their side. Sano’s delinquent appearance really scared the shit out of them, forcing all the opponents to avoid their side. This made Makino’s job easier, as he only needed to sweep the leak from his kouhai’s defense.

This really made Higo jobless today. Besides a couple of tis when he had to reroute the ball, the boy didn’t really do anything in this ga. Hell, no shot was made by the opponent’s side, not even an off-the-target one. The boy lost count already of how many tis he yawned since everything began, not having anything to do on the back.

Still, this was definitely a good thing, showing that the team had improved so much that Sapporo Kita couldn’t even put up a fight against them. This was different compared to last sumr, where, while they were dominating, so attacks could still be launched by the opponent’s side. This ti, it was a complete dominance from them, a big show from the start of the tournant.

In the end, in the 88th minute, one last attack finally managed to penetrate Sapporo Kita’s side.

This ti, Hiroshi once again beca the orchestrator, holding the ball for so long to attract three players to co before sending a through pass penetrating the opponent’s defensive line. Yuji, who managed to sneak from the blind spot, didn’t have any difficulty putting the ball on the back of the net.

Once the goal occurred, all the players on the pitch knew one thing here.

The ga was over, and Hakodate Nishi would advance to the second round of the tournant.
