Chapter 1232: Chapter 913: Pig Teammate_4 Chapter 1232: Chapter 913: Pig Teammate_4 Furthermore, even if the Russian army were utterly unprepared, it would be virtually impossible for Germany to swiftly crush Russia.

The vast expanse of Russian territory ant that the German Army would need at least six months to a year to exhaust themselves on this front, ti ample enough for Britain and France to deploy their troops and organize a large-scale offensive.

While the German Army believed they could defeat Russia in a short period, Britain and France made it clear to the German Army that they, too, could crush the German forces within a short duration, even with just a fraction of their forces left for defense.

On April 13th, a piece of intelligence about Germany being ready to attack Russia, awaiting only the final assault timing to launch a comprehensive offensive, was laid before Stalin.

In the face of such incessant reports, Stalin not only disregarded them but also directly annotated on the intelligence: “Send the spy who brought this report to hell, he’s not an intelligence agent, but a false informant bribed by the enemy.”

One has to admit, it was a stroke of good fortune for Russia to have such a blindly arrogant and obstinate ruler.

If Russia had indeed been prepared for the German Army’s attack, all statents by their governnt and dia could be regarded as a façade to paralyze the Germans.

But the issue was that neither the Russian Governnt nor Stalin himself seed to have made any preparations for the German onslaught. Such statents were not a ans of numbing the enemy but rather an external manifestation of their own internal foolishness and ignorance.

The good news was that these statents indeed caused complacency.

The bad news was that those lulled by these statents were the Russian people themselves.

Under the continuous declarations of the Russian Governnt and dia, the Russian people and the troops on the borders let down their guard, believing that the German Army could not possibly attack Russia at such a juncture.

Yet, as dramatic as the plot turned out, when the Russian Governnt was about to announce to the world that Germany’s supposed attack on Russia was rely a rumor, on the German side, the earth-shaking Operation Barbarossa officially comnced.

On the morning of April 14, 1937, a large-scale top-secret military eting was convened within the Berlin Pri Minister’s residence.

To avoid drawing attention, all attendees arrived at the venue in three separate batches.

First to arrive were the generals of the Eastern Army Group, followed by those of the Northern Army Group, and last were the generals of the Southern Army Group.

Without much extraneous conversation, the first statent made at the onset of the eting was to discuss specific war objectives for the three Army Groups in the days leading up to the war, and operational orders for their respective zones of action were issued.

Subsequently, the army aviation units and the Air Force reported their plans, settling on which air formations should support which area of operations.

The entire eting continued from just after 7 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon before the generals finally had ti for a break and a al.

However, no one voiced any discontent because they understood that ti was the only thing Germany lacked at the mont.

The German Chancellor took a detailed interest in the deploynt and operational plans of the various military forces, listening intently without interruption.

It was only when he heard in the military briefings that though the Russian army might have a nurical advantage, their overall quality was poor and they posed no threat to the German forces that the German Chancellor nodded his satisfaction and expressed an optimistic view of the entire war.

Although a considerable number of German generals had different opinions about attacking Russia, at least they thought it unfitting for Russia to wage a two-front war at this ti.

Seeing the Chancellor’s confident smile and the ongoing orders from the military upper echelons, they could only swallow their saliva, keeping their hesitations and concerns to themselves for the ti being.
