Shinon barely got any ti after dealing with the Sprinters before he saw two Slamrs heading his way from the corner of his eyes. Their massive fras were towering over the surrounding undead.
Shinon had fought one of these grotesque creatures before and knew them for their incredible strength and the ability to unleash devastating blows with their oversized fists.
A re few weeks ago, confronting a lone Slamr Zombie had been a daunting task for Shinon, requiring the assistance of Rico and Kira.
Now, faced with the prospect of battling two of these formidable creatures simultaneously, Shinon saw it as an opportunity to gauge the extent of his growth since their previous encounter.
With a thunderous roar, they charged toward Shinon, determined to protect the Exploder. With a shrug, Shinon steadied himself, his eyes locked on the approaching pair of Slamr Zombies.
The first Slamr lunged forward, its fists hurtling toward Shinon with trendous force. Swiftly sidestepping the attack, Shinon expertly manoeuvred around the creature, using its own montum against it.
With a swift swing of his blade, he carved through the Slamr’s exposed side, eliciting a howl of pain from the grotesque creature as it whimpered at so distance.
Shinon’s confusion mingled with awe as he witnessed the trendous power of his blade. The mory of their previous encounter with a Slamr flashed through his mind, where their thick skin had proven nearly impenetrable, even to bullets.
But now, in a single fluid motion, his blade effortlessly cleaved through the Slamr’s flesh as if it were re paper.
Curiosity and amazent flooded Shinon’s thoughts. How had the Blade of Chaos transford to possess such formidable strength, capable of slicing through the undead with such ease?
He couldn’t help but wonder if its newfound power resulted from the countless encounters with the undead, their blood seeping into the very essence of the weapon.
Gripping the hilt tightly, Shinon marvelled at the ethereal glow emanating from the blade. It pulsed with magical energy, crackling with an intensity that mirrored his desire to slay more undead.
While Shinon admired the blade, the second Slamr had no intention of waiting for him to finish. The second Slamr charged at Shinon from the opposite direction, its intentions clear. But Shinon was ready.
Leaning into his Shadowmancy abilities, he rged with the darkness, allowing the Slamr’s attack to pass harmlessly through him.
Capitalising on the montary confusion of his enemy, Shinon erged from the shadows behind the second Slamr.
With a precise strike, he delivered a decisive blow to the back of its knee, causing the creature to buckle and collapse under its own weight. Before it could regain footing, Shinon swiftly dispatched it with a powerful strike, severing its head from its body.
Undeterred by its companion’s fate, the first Slamr launched towards Shinon. The zombie then unleashed a series of rapid punches. Each strike was accompanied by a powerful gust of wind as if the very force of its blows threatened to knock Shinon off balance.
"That’s sothing new!"
Reacting with lightning reflexes, Shinon sidestepped the attack, narrowly evading the bone-crushing blow. With a swift counterstrike, his sword sliced through the creature’s arm, severing it from its body.
The Slamr roared in agony, but Shinon didn’t relent. He swiftly moved in, striking precise blows at its vulnerable spots. His blade found its mark, slicing through decaying flesh and bone, until the Slamr crumpled to the ground, defeated.
As the two Slamrs crumbled to the ground under Shinon’s precise strikes, a Screar zombie erged from the horde, its piercing shrieks echoing through the battlefield. Its bloodshot eyes fixated on Shinon, recognising him as a threat to its beloved Exploder.
But unlike the Screars Shinon had fought before, this one didn’t shy away from a direct confrontation and lunged forward, its ghastly mouth agape, releasing a cacophony of screeches.
Shinon, undeterred by the creature’s intimidating presence, calmly assessed the situation. It then hit him that maybe the Screar wasn’t behaving like one because it was Irregular, just like the sprinters before.
"Irregular or not, the fucker needs to die."
Shinon swung his blade swiftly, its polished surface gleaming in the dim light. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, preparing for the confrontation. The Screar closed the distance between them, its decaying limbs flailing wildly.
To Shinon’s astonishnt, the Screar unleashed an unexpected burst of speed, surpassing even the swiftest Sprinters. In a blur of motion, the creature vanished from his sight, montarily leaving him disoriented.
Before he could react, the Screar materialised right before him, re inches away. Its twisted face contorted into a sinister grin as it lunged forward, its decaying claws aid at Shinon’s throat. Ti seed to slow as he registered the imminent danger.
Instinct kicked in, and Shinon relied on his shadowmancy abilities. With a surge of energy, he tapped into the essence of shadows, allowing them to envelop his form.
The darkness swirled around him, forming a shield while he applied [Shadow Enhancent] throughout his body, granting him enhanced perception and agility.
Shinon deftly sidestepped the Screar’s initial attack, evading its outstretched claws.
As the creature lunged again, he swiftly parried its strike with his sword, the clash of tal against rotting flesh resonating through the air. With a surge of strength, he pushed back the Screar, creating distance between them.
Undeterred, the Screar unleashed another series of ear-splitting shrieks, attempting to disorient Shinon and summon reinforcents from the horde. But Shinon remained as he had shadows enveloped his ears in advance.
Taking advantage of the Screar’s montary distraction, Shinon activated Necrotoxin in his blade. With a burst of speed, he closed the gap between him and the Screar, his sword poised for a decisive strike.
In a fluid motion, Shinon’s sword arced through the air, severing the Screar’s head from its decaying body.
The creature’s shrieks abruptly ceased, replaced by a gurgling silence as it collapsed. The horde paused briefly, their attention drawn to the fallen Screar.
But then sothing weird happened. It almost felt like the Blade of Chaos had developed a mind of its own and lashed out at the fallen Screar.
A wave of Necrotoxin released from the blade, rose and twisted, coiling around the fallen Screar’s body. With a final surge of power, the sword consud the lifeless corpse, leaving no trace behind as the green glow of the weapon disappeared.
"What the hell just happened here?"
