Chapter 467: Chapter 467 Tang Zhou is Dead_1
Ji Qishu had tried contacting all the people who could possibly be in touch with Tang Zhou, only to find out that Tang Zhou had been racing at the sports car club in the afternoon and had left around four o’clock. Soone had made a dinner appointnt with Tang Zhou, who had confird that he would attend.
But where was the person who had this dinner appointnt with him now?
Ji Qishu didn’t think sothing bad might have happened to him. Annoyed that he had been stood up, he had vented his frustrations in a family group chat, and then had dinner alone.
After having dinner and entertaining himself until ten o’clock, he returned to the Ye’s family mansion. He specifically parked his car in front of the villa where Tang Zhou lived, got out of the car, and went to scold Tang Zhou for standing him up.
In the living room, there was no one except Leng Chenmo who was reading a book.
Ji Qishu and Leng Chenmo were not on good terms. Leng Chenmo was cold and aloof. In the past, soone of Ji’s status wouldn’t be able to have a conversation with Leng Chenmo. Now, even though Leng Chenmo’s status had declined, he still emanated a cold aura. Ji Qishu and he simply couldn’t get along. Ji Qishu offhandedly asked, “Hey Leng, has Tang Zhou returned yet?”
“Isn’t he out for late-night snacks with you?” Leng Chenmo responded, glancing up from his book.
Ji Qishu fud, “You’ve got to be kidding . He was supposed to eat with , but he stood up. I can’t even ring him. His phone’s turned off. Who knows if he ran out of battery? Once he’s back, rember to tell him to give a call.”
After tossing down these words, Ji Qishu left the villa.
After Ji Qishu left, Leng Chenmo pondered for a bit, and tried calling Tang Zhou. As expected, his phone was turned off.
Could his phone be out of battery?
That seed unlikely. Tang Zhou had just purchased a new phone a few days ago which boasted a long-lasting battery that required only a one-hour charge for three days of normal use. It was for this particular feature that Tang Zhou had specially purchased this new phone.
For so reason, Leng Chenmo felt a bad premonition, an undercurrent of unease stirred within him.
Tang Zhou loved to party and wouldn’t return ho until one or two in the morning. Leng Chenmo waited in the living room until two o’clock. When he could wait no longer, he picked up his car keys and went out to search for him.
He searched all the places Tang Zhou loved to frequent, but couldn’t find him. This only added to Leng Chenmo’s anxiety.
He made a call to a friend in the police, asking for help to track Tang Zhou’s activities in the afternoon by accessing the city’s CCTV system. It turned out that Tang Zhou had driven out of the city to the suburbs around one o’clock and his car hadn’t returned to the city.
Could there have been a car accident?
In the dead of night, Leng Chenmo drove to the sports car club. The on-duty receptionist said that Tang Zhou had left at four in the afternoon.
Nervous and apprehensive, Leng Chenmo traced the route Tang Zhou would have taken, looking for signs of a car accident. He reduced his car speed to a crawl and eventually, on a mountain road, he discovered sothing.
He parked his car and after stepping out, he noticed a two-section break in the guardrail of the mountain road. It was too dark, and he couldn’t see into the valley below.
He climbed down the mountain to search and after a full forty minutes, he finally found Tang Zhou’s sports car, burnt down to its body fra.
His heart sank, and he raced toward the charred remains of the sports car, unconcerned about brambles and thorns. He yanked open the scorched driver’s door. He didn’t find a person, but only a pile of bones turned to ash…
