"Lu Beiyao..."
Just as Li ngru was about to speak, Lu Beiyao said indifferently, "I still have things to do. If you’re here to support, just continue drinking."
He turned and walked out, exuding a sense of aloofness.
A harsh blow struck Li ngru’s heart.
Zhou Ju’an stepped forward and said, "ngru, didn’t you say Lu Beiyao couldn’t possibly be interested in Sisi? Then why is he going to great lengths to defend her now? Could it still be because of your sake? If it really were, he wouldn’t have turned away so coldly; a man who does sothing for you would at least wait for so praise. Clearly, he’s upset you didn’t stand up for your sister!"
Li ngru’s already chaotic heart was thrown into further confusion by Zhou Ju’an’s words. She pressed her lips tightly and said nothing. Zhou Ju’an continued, "You’ve been together for so many years, and yet you still haven’t captured Lu Beiyao’s heart?"
"And have you captured Sisi’s heart after all this ti?" Li ngru retorted. "You’re so worried about Sisi being taken by Lu Beiyao; why don’t you help yourself and hold Sisi tightly in your heart."
"The silly girl, Sisi, might not necessarily have intentions towards Lu Beiyao, but what kind of person is Lu Beiyao? He could easily have a little girl like Sisi at any ti."
"You’re right!" Li ngru said, sowhat self-deceivingly. "Sisi said she doesn’t like people who are too outstanding; she only likes those who unconditionally trust her."
"Isn’t what Lu Beiyao did today precisely unconditionally trusting and defending her?"
Li ngru’s heart was hit hard, as if a large stone had suddenly been pressed upon it.
"From childhood till now, even if we spoke for Sisi, we wouldn’t support her so boldly. But Lu Beiyao today was different; he not only believed her from the start but also backed her up... He’s never treated you this way."
Li ngru took a deep breath, remained silent for a long ti, and then said, "Let’s go out, cousin, Sisi should have finished mixing the drinks for us."
When Zhou Ju’an wanted to speak again, seeing Li ngru’s desolate look, he sighed and said nothing.
As they went out, Li Siru was cheerfully mixing drinks, looking thoroughly joyful, quite different from before.
Li ngru stared at her sister for a long ti. When Sisi handed over the drink, she grabbed Li Siru’s hand and said, "Sisi, there aren’t many guests now. Co out with your sister for a mont; I have sothing to tell you!"
"Alright, wait a mont, sister!" She instructed the other waitstaff nearby and then ca out from behind the bar to walk out with Li ngru.
Zhou Ju’an wanted to stop them but ultimately gritted his teeth and sat back down.
It was only when they reached an empty hallway that Li ngru began to speak, "I’m sorry, Sisi!"
"Why should you apologize to , sister?" Li Siru asked, puzzled.
"Thanks to your future brother-in-law today, otherwise, it would have been embarrassing!" Li ngru smiled. "He was right; no matter how differently you’re treated in the Li Family, to outsiders, you’re still the second Miss of the Li Family. If they disrespect you, they disrespect the Li Family. And I... was still thought I was at ho facing grandpa. If not for your future brother-in-law reminding , I would have made a fool of myself. He’s always been like that, always unintentionally reminding of what should and shouldn’t be done. Didn’t you ask before why I like Lu Beiyao? I think this is the reason. Though he doesn’t express it, he always looks after things and people related to on my behalf."
As she spoke, her face radiated happiness. Li Siru tightly pinched the hem of her dress, smiled, and said, "Yes, thanks to you, sister, brother-in-law helped out."
