Upon hearing these words, Aria’s pupils suddenly beca sowhat vacant and distant.
"Just because I am a Godchosen..."
"The Godchosen..."
She had never before this mont despised her identity so much.
"I hate you..." It was unclear whether she ant David or her own sister, who had thrust her into the Godchosen position.
With the sound of tal scraping, Aria slowly drew the dagger from the strap on her thigh. It was a gift for self-defense from her sister, Arasya, who was Queen.
And in the mont Aria drew the dagger, Arasya’s voice could be heard from the plaza,
"I love my sister, Aria.
"I do not wish to face such a cruel fate alongside her.
"I believe that the sa is true for all of you from the various planes.
"Faced with this unprecedented threat, we still have a chance to fight.
"Just as our ancestors, who were once enslaved by the dragons, unified, we can once again weave the fate of elves and open, once more, an era belonging to the elves...
"The Second Prosperous Age!"
As Arasya’s speech grew more impassioned, the Elf emissaries in Golden Oak Plaza and even the Noble Elves on the city walls were moved to tears by this great mont that would be engraved in elven epics, rising to their feet and applauding involuntarily.
David also got up slowly on the battlent under Leopold’s struggling, fearful gaze,
"Do you see? The fate of our two races is now like an arrow strung on a bow, inevitable."
Aria, by his side, also slowly raised the dagger in her hand, as if to make a final decision regarding her own destiny.
But just as Leopold, already driven to desperation by David, seed to make a do-or-die decision, a light remark from David completely shattered his heart,
"But what I want to say is, Leopold, you and I are ultimately different, and you still have a choice to make."
"What?" Leopold looked up, sowhat dazed.
"Fight here and now, like a true Godchosen warrior, at the cost of your own and your family’s lives.
"Or, leave this place, like a true wanderer, with her and your family.
"Choose, Leopold."
"...This is... betrayal..." Leopold’s nerves finally reached the verge of complete collapse. If he chose the latter, he, Leopold, would be a true oathbreaker, a sinner against all elves. At the sa ti, as an oathbreaker and blaspher, he would also lose his qualifications as the Chosen of the Wandering God, thus preventing The Wandering God from descending.
In that mont, the way Leopold looked at David was no different from looking at a Devil.
"I, Arasya Yevgeny Moonbow, hereby proclaim, in the capacity of the last royal descendant of Eternal Gathering Island and the Elf Queen of Dewensen!"
Ultimately, under David’s rciless and indifferent scrutiny.
"Goodbye, Saphiros..." It was Aria who acted first.
Her hands holding the blade, she turned the sharp edge towards her own pale neck, a look of boundless sorrow in her hollow eyes, surprising David.
David thought she would turn the knife on him.
Just as David thought his plan was about to be exposed prematurely because of a woman.
Leopold moved. The disheartened Chosen of the Wandering God knocked the dagger from Aria’s hands from behind. To the astonishnt and confusion of the Noble Elves, he then simply carried Aria away, towards the outer city, towards his ho, running like a turquoise streak.
"Thank you, Leopold."
David murmured, watching their retreating figures disappear from view, now feeling a sense of loss.
"Now, as you wish, I give you freedom and relief, Yevgeny." He did not turn back, leaving these words for the High Elf marked by destiny.
Then, leaning forward, he fell freely from the city wall. His chest began to show the searing crimson of the Tokamak fusion effect.
Yevgeny, leaning on his longsword, knelt devoutly as he watched David’s figure expand in mid-air like a rising sun. Facing the radiance as if in penance.
Repenting his once Greed.
If it weren’t for his Greed that sparked everything, perhaps, the calamity before them would not have occurred...
They then heard Arasya’s final declaration echo across a great expanse of Dewensen’s skies,
"Officially declare war on the Dragons of Elariya!!!"
And just as Arasya’s last words were still ringing out, all the Elves turned in sudden disarray towards the sky, looking at the red luminescence that rose abruptly and then plumted down. No, that was a Dragon, its body ablaze with flas.
BOOM! With a deafening sound, accompanied by the collapse of the speaking plaza, the Queen, who had just been inspiring her people, vanished beneath the claw of the Red Dragon as it abruptly struck down.
The body of the Red Dragon, engulfed in flas, pulsed with the stored Mana Energy in its mouth like a throbbing heart.
Then, under the despairing and fearful gaze of the Elf emissaries in the venue;
under the gaze of Aria, who, carried on Leopold’s back, scread hoarsely while moving ever further away;
and amidst the sudden backward glance of soone who, having been stood up by David in the outer city park, was being pulled away by the hand by Alicia and suddenly sensed sothing—
it erupted with a roar.
「That night.」
With a clamorous Dragon’s Roar, the center of Dewensen’s city witnessed the rise of a sun.
ROAR!!!!!
