Just as I was barfing my guts out, feeling my stomach cramp up. I felt a soft pat on my back.

Trying to fight off the discomfort, I turned around. Damon’s face was serious, his eyes filled with worry. "Feeling better? Let take you to the hospital"

"No need. Just a bit of a stomach bug. I’ll get so ds later" I waved him off.

If I went to the hospital, they’d definitely find out about my pregnancy And if Damon found out, that would be a problem.

I had snuck off to the hospital for a check–up. I was indeed three months pregnant. The doctor said there was no way to tell if the drugs I’d been taking these past three months had affected the baby.

I was hesitating. I hadn’t decided what to do with the baby.

"If you have stomach issues, you should get a thorough check–up and then take dication seriously" Damon, seeing getting up, grabbed my hand, trying to lead away.

"I’ve already seen a doctor!" I pulled my hand away, saying tiredly, "I just ca to this room to get so rest. I want to take a nap."

The room seed to be a rest area. There was a small sofa bed in the middle. I went over, laid down, and closed my eyes.

Maybe it was the pregnancy, but I’d been sleeping a lot lately. Even though I knew Damon was right there, I was too exhausted to care. I soon drifted off.

I had no idea how long I slept. When I woke up, it was already dark outside. There was just a dim light on in the room.

"Are you awake?" Damon was still there. He was sitting on a chair, watching .

"What ti is it? The wedding’s over, right?" I jumped. Didn’t Luna and her crew co looking for ?

Damon glanced at his watch, "It’s half past eight."

I sat up, surprised I had slept from afternoon to night?!

Damon added, "Luna ca looking for you. I told her to go ahead. I’ll take you back later."

"Why did I sleep so long."I rubbed my forehead

"Been too tired lately?" Damon asked.

"Maybe. But you didn’t have to stick around." I said casually, "It could lead to misunderstandings."

Under the dim light, Damon’s eyes looked hazy. I couldn’t make out his expression, but I heard him ask, "Would you rather have Jones with you?"

He seed to have so beef with Jones. I wasn’t sure if it was because of or Ariel.

I didn’t want to talk about it. Lana was waiting for at the hotel. We had to leave early tomorrow for another city where our potential partners were

These past few days, besides going ho once, I’d been busy with Luna’s wedding. I hadn’t started on my work yet. Luckily, we still had plenty of ti. I just needed to go over there in the morning.

"I should get going "I opened the door and left.

Once outside, I realized how cold it was. Even though it was spring, it felt like winter. The mansion was on a hilltop, so the wind at night was even stronger here. I was just wearing a thin bridesmaid dress. As soon as the wind blew, I got goosebumps all over.

Just then, my phone rang. It was Luna, "Eliana, are you awake?"

"Yes I’m heading to the hotel" I answered in the cold wind

"I wanted Mitch to take you back, but he couldn’t wake you up, so he had to leave you with Damon. I’ll send soone to pick you up now!" Luna said.

Was I knocked out?

Damon also ca out, standing next to . I gave him a puzzled look, then told Luna, "Luna, don’t bother. Damon can just give a ride down the hill,"

It was her wedding day, so I didn’t want to cause any trouble.

After a bit more chatting, Luna suddenly started throwing up and had to hang up in a hurry.

A warm coat suddenly landed on my shoulders, blocking the cold wind

"Let’s go "Damon was now just wearing a formal gray shirt and black tie. He usually dressed up for occasions like this and rarely wore anything else.

"Aren’t you cold? I asked, following behind Damon.

"Not cold" He answered tersely.

We then fell silent. As we passed by the site of Luna’s wedding earlier, I saw people still cleaning up.

Once we got to Damon’s car, I tried to take off the coat, but he stopped , "Keep it on. I don’t mind losing a coat."

Thinking of the baby in my stomach, I didn’t refuse. I put on his coat again.

Halfway to the hotel, my stomach suddenly growled.

I hadn’t eaten anything all afternoon and night, so I was starving. My hunger now felt completely different from before.

I couldn’t help but say, "Damon, can you drop off at a restaurant? I need to eat sothing."

Damon glanced at my stomach, then took to a restaurant.

When I saw the grand entrance of the restaurant, I refused to get off, "I don’t want to eat here. I want to grab a fast food al.

I finally understood why Luna’s tastes changed so much when she was pregnant. It felt like there was a little man in my head making food orders, wanting to eat this one mont and that the next.

Right now, I was really craving so greasy fast food from a street vendor. I didn’t care about any of that nutrition stuff.

"Your stomach is already not doing well, and you want to eat that kind of unsanitary food?" Damon disagreed.

"Don’t mind , I was irritated by hunger, " said angrily, "If you won’t take , I’ll get a cab!"

I then tried to open the car door to get out

Damon didn’t unlock the door. Unable to open the door, I cursed at him again, "Are you trying to starve to death? We’re divorced, do you care what I eat? You’re crazy! Open the door!"

The doctor had told that hormonal changes during pregnancy could cause significant mood swings So I couldn’t really be blad for this.

If I couldn’t eat what I wanted, I’d seriously start crying.

Damon seed taken aback by my reaction. He sighed and said, "Is it worth crying over a al?"

I was furious. I wanted to tell Damon right then and there that I was pregnant, and ruin the relationship he and Ariel had worked so hard to build.

I didn’t believe Ariel could keep her cool if she knew about this.

But reason told that once I told him, I’d run into a lot of trouble myself. My newly started life might imdiately turn into a ss.

Seeing I was unstable, Damon had no choice but to drive to a busy street. All sorts of mouth–watering street food wafted tempting aromas around. I felt like I’d landed in heaven in an instant. I hopped out of the car and started to feast.

Damon trailed behind . Watching linger in front of each food truck, he was frowning tight.
