Chu Yan’s Life Palace showed signs of blood, indicating that he was facing imminent danger.

There was a sll of blood in the living room, suggesting wounds on his body.

Qin Zhao didn’t need to know exactly what he was up to, but she was sure it was no good.

"Ow-woo."

In the room, a Hellhound ran out from the Contract Space, turning into a small black dog.

It circled hesitantly by the door, wanting to go out and play with the orange cat, but it dared not venture forth.

All thanks to Chu Yan.

The Hellhound was particularly afraid of Chu Yan, scared on their very first encounter.

Chu Yan hadn’t done anything to it, but it was terrified of his aura.

That ti when it had bullied Chu Yan’s cat, Chu Yan’s fierce glare had nearly brought it to tears.

When Qin Zhao returned, she found her dog crying and had an argunt with Chu Yan.

Outside, the ring of a cell phone followed by the closing of Chu Yan’s room door was heard.

He had returned to his room.

The dog imdiately opened the door itself and dashed out.

"Everything is ready, when do you plan to make a move?"

By the patio door, Chu Yan reached and touched his abdon, faintly feeling a damp trace.

Blood seed to have seeped through the gauze a bit.

He beca sowhat distracted, his mind fixated on Qin Zhao’s words.

What did she an?

Was she wishing for him to die soon?

What a malicious woman.

He hadn’t done anything to her, yet she thought about his death every day.

Chu Yan couldn’t help but frown, the dull pain in his heart heavier than the wound on his abdon.

After a long ti, he murmured, "Qin Zhao, I am not indispensable to you."

"Hey! What the hell are you being so sentintal about? I’m asking you sothing serious!"

From the other end of the phone, Qi Ling’s voice carried impatience.

Chu Yan replied coldly, "Who is being sentintal? I just figured so things out."

Since she disliked him so much, there was no point in making himself miserable.

Thinking of getting a divorce?

When the ti cos, he would comply!

Days later, news broke out that Zou Tingjun was gravely ill and didn’t have long to live.

He still resided in West Mountain No.1 Courtyard, but had many dical personnel attending to him.

All the prominent figures who wanted to visit Mr. Zou were turned away.

"Dad, you’ve really worked hard during this ti."

During this period, Zou Ziqi visited frequently, seeing his grandfather.

But he couldn’t compare to his father, Shang Youwen, who had stayed to personally care for his ailing grandfather.

"I’m free since your mom is managing the company, it’s only right for to take care of your grandfather."

"I’ll head back first, and co see grandpa again tomorrow."

Shang Youwen saw off Zou Ziqi.

Not long after, a man dressed in a business suit and holding a briefcase arrived.

"Hello, Mr. Zou asked to co."

A hint of a dark glint flickered in Shang Youwen’s eyes as the two exchanged glances.

"Please co in."

With servants nearby, Shang Youwen said little else.

"I’ll take you there."

After they left, the servants couldn’t help but speculate.

"Why has a lawyer been summoned?"

"Is the old master really on his deathbed?"

"It must be to make a will, Mr. Zou’s condition is really critical."

In Mr. Zou’s sickroom, his surprise was evident at the arrival of the unfamiliar man.

"Didn’t I say? There’s no need for others to visit ."

Shang Youwen explained, "Dad, he’s a lawyer."

Zou Tingjun furrowed his brows, "Why do you need a lawyer?"

This lawyer wasn’t summoned by Mr. Zou after all.

Instead, it was Shang Youwen who had him brought!

"With everything as it is, I think it’s best you make a will now."

"The doctors say there’s still treatnt for my illness, what are you implying? Wishing for to die soon?"

Shang Youwen laughed, but his eyes didn’t reflect amusent.

"This is the drafted will."

The lawyer handed Shang Youwen a docunt.

"You can step out now."

Once Shang Youwen received the will and confird the lawyer’s departure, he approached the bedside.

"Dad, it’s best if you sign this yourself."

The will placed in front of Zou Tingjun indicated the majority of the Zou family’s extensive properties were to be inherited by his son-in-law, Shang Youwen!

Zou Tingjun’s eyes widened, his breathing grew rapid; his gaze filled with both pain and regret.

"Was it your doing when your mom fell ill last ti?"

Shang Youwen had already made up his mind, and confessing now made no difference.

He looked down at the elderly man, "Yes."

Following that, his expression beca twisted.

"How would I get my chance if you all didn’t die? I’ve lived under the shadow of the Zou family all my life!"

Marrying into the Zou family had elevated him from ordinary middle class to the top echelons of society, but he had endured years of disdain. To him, everything granted by the Zou family felt like humiliation!

"Old man, sign it!"

Shang Youwen struggled to maintain his pretense of hypocrisy.

"No, I don’t want to..." Zou Tingjun refused to sign.

Shang Youwen forcibly grasped his hand, signing his na, and then pressed his handprint on the will.

Upon seeing the completed will, Shang Youwen couldn’t help but laugh.

Looking towards the bedridden old man, his eyes glead with a fierce light.

He grabbed a pillow and said venomously, "Old man, I’m sending you to your release!"

Just as Shang Youwen was about to suffocate Zou Tingjun with the pillow, an invisible force suddenly struck him, sending him flying across the room.

The dark restroom lit up, and a figure erged from behind the door.

"It’s you!"

On the ground, Shang Youwen’s complexion altered drastically.

Qin Zhao looked at him indifferently, walked towards the television, and dismantled a small hidden cara behind it, capturing all the prior scenes.

Finally grasping the situation, Shang Youwen incredulously looked from Qin Zhao to Zou Tingjun.

"Great, this is just great! You conspired to deceive !"

Zou Tingjun sat up from the bed, his complexion appearing less frail as he looked at Shang Youwen with disappointnt and heartache, "I never thought that after all these years, I was nurturing a thankless wretch in my ho."

Outside, police sirens wailed.

Qin Zhao had already called the police, with the surveillance footage as concrete evidence, Shang Youwen couldn’t escape the law.
