So much anger, so much fear, and it all boiled down towards towards hate that I felt for Tristan.
If you had a clue about the nightmare, he should have announced that they were not very pleasant to encounter. They were heinous, horrifying and frightening enough for to wonder if I should truly just stay awake and avoid them altogether.
" He knew all this while, and he decided to do nothing until he marked . It just cos down to the mark, does it not? Now that I have his mark, I can have everything. By everything, he ans that I can finally breathe and sleep in peace without thinking of the nightmares again."
A scornful laugh escaped. "What did he think I was experiencing in those nightmares? The joy I felt when my family was complete? Or happily as after dreams, that were coming true in them? Can a man not think of himself first, and think of the horror that the girl went through when... when this happened?!"
"Genevive," she whispered almost on the verge of crying herself. She may have, while I was telling her what had happened. I think I might have not noticed it in my own hate as I poured everything out to her
Shaking my head, I turned to her as I asked, "tell sothing, how is it that he could possibly know about the nightmares?"
Marilyn looked away.
That was not nice. The answer was not going to be pleasant if she just looked away.
"What is it? Tell ." I commanded the authority returning to my voice. "How does he know about the nightmare when I did not tell anyone?"
"I..I do not know. This.. this is the way he can—" Marilyn stopped herself and glanced at before looking away again.
"What?" I shifted so that I could get a better look at her. "Tell what it is!"
"It is absolutely nothin—"
"Marilyn!" I raised my voice.
She gave a dubious glance before resigning. "I don’t know,"
"I said, do not lie to ."
"I—" she shut her mouth and sighed aggressively. "I do not know! But I think there is sothing he might have done which is quite common between vampires."
"What is it?" The way she was acting was scaring already. What was it that Tristan had done that was so unspeakable that Marilyn could not even voice it out.
She took my hand in hers and tightly held it. "The thing is, vampires tend to be very obsessed with each other. If both of the beloved are vampires, then there is a chance that they do not even wait for the marking and the eting."
"Since you took so long, which is quite normal for humans, the obsession grows and at tis males.. they.."
"They?"
She winced. "Watch."
"Watch," I frowned, "what?"
"You." She answered, and then took a deep breath before adding, " mails tend to watch you. From a far, you cannot see them. You cannot even see them at tis, but they keep the watch on you. They see what you doing, your eting with and what is going on in your day. That is why Tristan said that he was always with you with the intention of protecting you. He was always around and one ti he was not.."
"It happened." I muttered. "He watched ?"
"Possibly, yes."
"The nightmare, he watches still?"
"Again, possibly, yes."
Possibly? No. It had to be the answer. There was no other way I could think of that Tristan would know anything about that he was not supposed to know.
How long had he watched for? Until the night in the dungeons where I had found him beaten and bruised to be of that? He could not have possibly watched after that. And after that he was changed so it had to be before that. But was he not human then?
"When do you rember him watching ?"
She gave a strained smile. " after I woke up as a vampire. He was not around much and when he ca, it was only to talk for a short amount of ti before he left hand. I had Laura talking to her mother about how he’s gone again to watch ’her’."
"Her as in ."
She nodded.
So there a possibility that he knew everything that had happened until now.
Everything from the point where I saw, I would never et him again, to the point we t, he was present. He was watching.
"Are you sure?" I asked her in doubt. I never doubted what Marilyn had to tell , but this was sothing I found slightly hesitating to believe in.
Marilyn did not appear convinced herself. Her expression told that she doubted the entire equation too. " I have told you what I had, my princess. I do not know if it is true or not, there is only one person who can confirm it and I don’t think you’re going to be talking to him at the mont. So.."
I scoffed. "I don’t ever want to talk to him." if I had my way, I would never even look at him.
Tristan had hidden so much for that I did not even want to take his na in my mind. I only could wonder at this point how much he hid from . But it was an afterthought because I no longer had the power to go through it.
I stood up, and Marilyn followed. "I do not know what I’m going to do next until now, I’m going to go to bed. If you see, tell her not to wake up unless my chambers are on fire."
Marilyn nodded, and before she could say anything, I was already on my way out. Tristan and his ability to take my nightmares away be damd!
Just as I entered my room, I made sure to lock my door and I did a small trick in my bedroom to tell in case he ca while I was sleeping. Now it was awaiting ga.
