Concealing events, hiding tilines and omitting. A few facts was more energy consuming than I had anticipated.

My energy was spent half by concealing what I deed unnecessary for her to know, and by crying in the middle of it all. Most of the truth, I have not hidden from her. Telling her what exactly now plagued the palace and the land of Astria. Why were people so scared to co out and she never saw any crowd outside from the window in her room? I also told her about the night but I had emitted it. I did not tell her what had already happened, rather how I was saved from it happening. How Tristan had been my saviour, but not my avenger.

Even if I had hidden most of it to myself, my sister was still frightened by all of it. Where estelle, and I had been outside, dealing with politics, and how bad the world could be to itself, Catherine stayed inside, preparing for the fairy tale that she was going to live her life.

Countless tis, I had wiped my tears, and then proceeded to do the sa for her. Tis when she could not listen anymore and just hugged , but then refused herself and wanted to know more. She wanted to know what had happened with , what I had been through Before starting to cry again and refusing to listen anymore. It happened until the very end. The only ti my sister was happy was when I had found the secretary of our mother and how I must have felt safe with him.

"Evive," she whimpered against my chest, "I thought I had been through so much. I have been safe by Lana and all her efforts but you, you have been through so much. I cannot even imagine how you must feel right now."

I smiled against her hair. "We have all been through sothing traumatizing to each face. Do not lessen your pain in comparison to , my dearest."

She sniffed, and I knew another set of tearworks were coming. I let her cry against and held her tightly as she did. My sister was crying for not only what I had been through, but what she had been through. She was crying for the fate that we had encountered and how it was vastly different to what we had imagined.

All three of us had always thought of a future that we would have to work for, but would securely have in our hands, and we were nowhere near that.

Suddenly, my sister stopped crying. She stopped shaking, moving altogether, which scared . I pulled away from her to look into her eyes only to find them full of fright.

"What is it?" I cupped her cheek. "Why are you so scared all of a sudden?"

" I just... Just rembered who the king is. He is a creature of the night, soone who is going to feed on our blood and you are engaged to him?"

"Chiara, too, is a creature of the night. She is a vampire as well, it looks like she was going to kill us?"

She shrugged. "How are we ever supposed to know? I heard the rumors from the villages that they are awfully strong. They carry the strength of hundreds of n. So if she wants to kill us, she could do it in a heartbeat."

True.

I nodded, silently, agreeing with what she had to say. "It takes ti to trust soone, it will take more to trust them. But I will say that if they wanted to kill ys, they had the chance of doing it. They are moving towards the world. Both of us can stay together and in harmony. If they kill us then people will continue to fear them."

"I think people will fear them anyway. It might take a lifeti to trust such people, maybe even more." Catherine countered. " I did not understand how you encountered any of them and have been living with them since. I could not with the fear I feel... I do not think I can et lady Chiara ever again."

"If you feel so," I nodded along. It served her right, after all, she was the one who had forced into the situation. Had I had a little more ti to think, I would have thought of a better way to handle this.

Catherine felt quiet, and I watched her from the side. She was thinking, and I could only imagine what was going on in her mind. So much had been told to her, and it was a wonder that she was still sitting here.

"This is sothing you need to ask ?"

She shook her head. "No."

I looked down before asking, "would you like to rest then? Eat sothing before that?"

Catherine turned her head towards and thought for a mont before she answered. "I think I would like to rest. Just for soti and then I would eat."

"As you wish."

I walked her to her room that was right next to mine. Covering her with the blanket, I stayed by her side, wrapping her shoulder and watching her as she fell asleep. Only when I was sure that my sister was sleeping, did I leave her room. While going towards the door, just as I stepped out of her bedroom, I found Irene waiting for .

"What is it?" I asked her.

"The king awaits you." She told . "His Majesty proposes for dinner together."

Of course he died. I had not eaten well and then the news must’ve traveled to him about my answers for Catherine’s questions. As much as I wanted to doubt his intentions, I knew deep inside my heart that he was doing it out of his concern. That was why I agreed and that was why I found myself sitting next to him with a feast in front of .
