"My mother," I gulped at the thought, "was she aware.."

If my mother was aware about this, then she should have left it sowhere. The information was very crucial and I found it hard to believe that she had not written about it sowhere for us to know.

"Yes." He nodded. "She was aware that I was different, and I was not human like everyone else she knew. However, in exchange for the rcy that she had shown , I had promised that none of our kind would ever invade her kingdom with the intent of destroying anything."

He smiled a bit. "Today when her daughters need our help, I will very graciously, extend my hand for it."

Narrowing my eyes at the man standing in front of , I could not help us, saying how many faces he had, because two of them were in front of already.

"How nice of you to extend your hand of health when the night before, you were completely unable to do anything due to the political instability of the kingdom. How was the only thing you could do to help after I married Tristan." I then proceeded to give him a bittersweet smile.

"Ah." He had the audacity to smile. "What can I say for myself at the mont? I had to do sothing for you to take the offer presented to you. That was the best option and," he waited before his smile widened, "in my defense again, just enough for you another way you refused to acknowledge that."

"Because you were going to continuously dangle that stick in front of my face until I took it." I snapped not at all, minding the harshness I presented to him. If anything, he deserved it.

He chuckled, like my words for nothing, but bark and no bite before moving forward making follow him.

Dominique slowed down and soon I was walking beside him.

"Your mother had qualities every Queen should have in her. She said her kingdom perfectly, she was kind, compassionate and very intelligent in the matters of finance and economy. The only downfall she had was because of the relationship she shared with your father."

"You have all these qualities that she had. Thankfully, most of them were passed down to you, because of the guidance of your elder sister in the behavior of your father, you did not inherit her feeling of wanting love."

"That," he glanced at him, "is where Tristan cos in. Soone who is willing to give you the sa at the cost of nothing. Soone who will be your anchor. Just like your mother needed soone to be for her."

"So, I will not have a downfall like my mother."

"Fortunately, yes." Dominique answered. "You will have what she did not."

"A beloved?"

"A balance." He corrected . "You will be given what you want but do not have and he will be given the sa. You both will be provided a balance."

He was talking about the Balance that my mother did not have in her life. The rule that I could not fulfill Tristan was going to stop in there just as a king or supposed to do for a queen.

It was the Balance that my mother did not have that led to her demise. If she had it, then she would still be among us today, ruling her kingdom and making it reach great heights.

However, spot on may his deduction be Dominique was not soone I would trust blindly. Sohow, it’s still felt that he had a hidden agenda up his sleeve.

"Are you telling this because you want to give Tristan an honest chance?" I was going to give Tristan an honest chance, but I did not want his uncle to know about it. As less as Dominique knew about Tristan and and what was going on between us, it would be greatly appreciated.

He smiled like he had a secret, only he knew about it. "Once you form a bond with a vampire, it is almost impossible to back out of it, young queen. Your mind, body and soul will want to participate in every way it can to make it thrive."

Bond?

I have not talked to Tristan about it yet and since he was outside of the palace today, I was not going to get a chance to talk about it soon enough with him. What about the bond? Were we not going to get married first?

I had assud that since I was human, human custom for being followed before anything else. My lack of knowledge about their customs put in a sport where I did not know how to proceed with his uncle. But I don’t want him to give false information like he did before but I also did not want to be a clueless dear.

"I thought that we would be married first in front of the masses that are human more than anything else. A human marriage would make more sense."

"Of course, it would." He nodded in agreent. "It would please them greatly that the king married a human and it would pave way for people to realised that marriages between human and vampire kind are possible."

I rolled my eyes. Only he would take this as an opportunity to make sure that everything went according to plan. Maybe, Tristan was the sa, and he was not with .

"What have you brought here?" I asked slightly tired of the idle chit chat. "I do find it hard to believe that soone who has not made a chance to talk to yet, cos in to talk to about anything."

He smiled briefly. "Quite perspective, just like your mother."

There he goes, bringing my mother into conversation like it was going to affect . Maybe it was affecting emotionally, but I had withstood a lot of things and this was the least of them. Dominique was not emotionally blackmailing a specially in the na of my mother.
