I felt a shudder run down my spine at how to raw the wound looked. It was different then what I had seen on any maid. It looks like the person had taken a chunk out of his skin and it was healing but the blood had dried on the spot and was not cleaned.

Chiara was still yelling at the boy but I had enough of it. He looks like he was going to faint and I was sure that not going to be from the yelling but the blood loss.

"What happened to you?" I pointed to the right side of his neck. "Why are you not in the Infirmary?"

The boy paled even further.

"What’s going on?" I asked relentlessly, "soone else can take your work for now. You must have the treatnt."

"I..it will h-heal.."

Even though the words barely left his mouth, I had them loud and clear and Chiara must have heard them too.

"Heal?" I scoffed, folding my hands in front of my chest. "Have you lost your mind? You have puncture wounds on your skin and I do not get questioning how you got them—"

"Genevieve," Chiara turned around and stepped closer before gripping my forearm.

When she had officially shut up, she turned around to the boy but did not look at his face instead her eyes remained on his bloody neck. "Get it treated. Report my words to Anna and tell her that you can be off duty for the next two days."

The boy left but my eyes did not leave until he disappeared around the corner probably finding the stairs for the help.

Chiara left my arm and stepped back. I took in the sullen expression on her face. She was not happy and I could see the disappointnt along with a hint of sadness on her face.

This was probably the first ti I had seen her show any expression other than pride or happiness.

"You should not have been so hard on the boy."

"I was hard at the boy?" I parroted in disbelief. "Chiara, you were yelling at him!"

"Yes and in my defense, I did not see his neck." She snapped at , making take a step back at the sudden change in her temperant.

I took another step back, slow and mindful enough to not let her know. Even though I knew she would not bite , I would still not put it past their nature.

That was who they were, and people do not change especially if sucking out blood was in their nature.

"Excuse for that," she sighed before the expression of a proud woman took her face again. "It is the first mating ceremony in our family and as you can tell, it has been awfully stressful."

It must be. That was sothing I could relate to.

"I understand, Chiara."

She gave a quick smile and nodded again but this ti slower. "Get ready and be as beautiful as you can." She touched my chin almost lovingly. "Many of our relatives would be coming here. I want you to be introduced to all of them as Tristan’s bride."

My smile dimd but I nodded nonetheless. " Excuse ," I stepped back and when she gave a nod back, I walked away from her turned my back completely.

Tristan’s Bride; a bloodsuckers bride.

But also, I was going to be the flight of soone I had grown to love. Soone whose presence I yearned to have near .

Soone who had taken ti out and made sure that I had sothing to give to Marylin.

I was confused in my thoughts when I reach my room but stopped at the door. Rula’s fearful expression made close my eyes in helplessness. What was I to do? These people needed an escape more than I needed soone to love .

I chuckled and ironically, even my heart heard how sad it was. I did not need anyone to love when I had spent almost half of my life searching for it.

I could spend ti without love in my life. I had done that before and I could do that now. It was these people that needed my help more than I needed love.

These people needed an escape from here desperately and I could help.

I wiped away the straight year that have fallen from my left eye before changing my direction and walking towards the small library.

"Are you sure, Your Highness?" Sir Walter asked as he placed the cup of tea in front of . "You do know that you are not responsible for any of them."

"Hm," I took a sip before sighing in pleasure. The tea leaves were grown in my country and I could recognize the taste and fragnts of them anywhere.

"Nice?" He smirked knowingly and I nodded. "My wife has a specific taste when it cos to its leaves and we always buy the one ground in her holand." He explained. "She was born in the Northside of the country."

"Ah," now I understood. The north was rich when it ca to the production of tea leaves and since the north was producing the tea leaves the people often used the unadulterated products.

I could understand why his wife did not prefer sowhere else.

"Now," he spoke after so minutes of silence passed between us. "Are you sure you want to carry out a small coup tonight?"

"A coup?" I laughed at that. "It is hardly a coop. I am helping those suffering to run away from them."

Sir Walter humd loudly. "I have been at your mother’s side longer than you think. I was there by her side as his secretary before she was the queen and when she was in the training." He gingerly took a sip of his tea. "And what I have learned in my is by the Queen’s side, what’s your doing is called organizing a coup
