My eyesight was blurry but I did not blink. I did not want the tears to fall. I didn’t even want to blink because the mont I did I knew I would end up seeing Lysar again.

As if the torture to leep him down was not enough, Tristan had kept him there. Was he even aware? I wondered about that as I walked to the courtroom.

"I don’t think you should do it," Diwal said breathlessly as he tried to catch up with . "What do you say when they ask why you were wandering around?"

I continued walking quickly. "I do not care about what anyone asks of male. That behaviour is unacceptable!" He was dying if he was not dead by now.

"Alright that is," he nodded his head, "but what if you are put in chains again because of this?"

I stopped.

He continued, towering he spoke, "I understand that what he is going through is not normal but you must understand that you were told to rest and rest only and when you tell people that you saw soone in that condition on the very end of a floor of the palace I don’t think it would end up well for either of us."

I turned to look at him as weariness crawled into my heart. I could feel my ankles and wrists were getting heavy with the chains that I once wore. The familiar feeling was not washed away completely from my mind.

"I. . " I licked my lips as I let the tears fall and closed my eyes forcefully. I realised what I was going to get myself into. With what I understood from everyone and their behaviour regarding and Tristan, of course, Tristan was heartbroken at what I had done but was not taking this too far?

"He will die at the hands of them, Diwal." I sighed and sniffed, not being able to breathe from my congested nose. "I cannot let soone die like that." I felt terrible.

"I know," he rubbed my shoulder but when I looked at him he hardly looked sympathetic.

I huffed. "Can Tristan not let him go? Because if he does that it would be the end of Lysar being here."

Diwal pouted slightly as he appeared to think about it but in the end shrugged. "I do not know. Are you not hungry yet?"

Without replying to him I started walking aimlessly in the hallway. I understood his heart break but I did not understand the extent of which he had to go to.

It was a straight way to the room where I had made uncle Dawnson previously. Just as we were about to reach the stairs Darius appeared to be coming up. I was almost about to turn around and run away but by the smile and how his eyes later he had obviously seen us.

"Do we know him?" Diwal whispered in my ear as I nodded.

"He is the king of the north and of the wolves." I whispered back to Diwal as calmly as possible. If almost a year ago soone told that I would have smacked them at the atrocity of this.

"Lady Genevieve," Darius ca closer with a huge smile, "you look well rested."

Well rested? "You know."

He nodded. "I was one of the people that had to restrain your beloved." He sighed, "he is quite an angry young man, is he not?"

"Tristan is calm and collected." The words slipped from my mouth before I knew it. "You should not talk about him like that."

Darius’s eyes widened for a brief mont. " Did you realise that you defend him?"

I didn’t. " I did."

He shook his head. "No you did not. I wonder what to call this. Is it your love for him or is it the bond working its way to you?"

I did love him but I was just scared to admit. Now that I knew of the bond I was not sure if it played with my feelings.

Darius tilted his head. "You sll."

I gave him an incredulous look, "Excuse ?" I even took a bath today. I had Dorothy rub a clean and wet cloth on my body.

"I can sll the paste and your blood but I sll sothing else," he sniffed again, " did you bleed?" He asked as his eyes moved to Diwal.

Diwal stiffened and I realised what blood it was.

I stepped up, "there was an injured man in the adjacent room to ."

He humd and then nodded, "could be, yes." His ice told that he did not believe because they were still sharp. "How was the person bleeding, if you don’t mind asking. As a wolf I know the sll of blood but this one is quite heavy on you."

I gulped and gave him a tight lipped smile. " I don’t think you should concern yourself with sothing like that. Tristan’s uncle Dawson is quite an experienced healer. I think we should leave the matters with him." I stepped to the side to walk past him but he raised his hand in front of . I stopped before it could touch even though there was a lot of distance he maintained.

"I asked you sothing, lady Genevieve," his eyes turned to , "it matters to who was bleeding so heavily. Was it a small circular wound?"

Being slightly irritated I nodded sharply, "Yes it was a small room. Would that be all?" The sarcasm dripped from my voice as Darius nodded calmly as his expressions turned serious.

"I thank you very much for your help, Lady genevieve," he smiled without his eyes, "justice would be served."

I blinked in shock. "What? What justice? What are you talking about?"

He stepped past but stopped at the very beginning of the stairs. "The Vampire king and I had it tree decided. No human was to be hard and since there has been one, we shall make the culprit pay."
