Chapter 316: [Bonus Chapter]Chapter 316 – Be prepared, my queen, I might just surprise you
"Can I get a hug for old tis’ sake? Since she’s here anyway, it shouldn’t be a big deal, right?"
Shandra subtly hinted to Sabrina that Robin was once hers. However, Sabrina was open-minded about Shandra’s request, thinking that a goodbye hug wouldn’t hurt.
To her astonishnt, Robin had a completely different interpretation of the situation.
His expression remained cold as he stared at Shandra.
"Just so you know, Shandra, our relationship is purely business, and I won’t grant your request."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow and went back to what she was doing, realizing that Robin didn’t even acknowledge her presence or seek her approval before responding to Shandra.
This indicated that his decision was not influenced by her; it was simply what he wanted.
Shandra’s eyes dimd as she witnessed Robin’s unwavering stance. Her admiration for him grew, along with her desire.
However, Robin had beco devoted to one woman, and unfortunately, that woman wasn’t her.
"Is it because she’s here? If she wasn’t, I know you would have," Shandra pushed the boundaries a little, insinuating that Robin was only trying to please Sabrina.
Also, it was an indirect way of telling him to prove what he ant by sending Sabrina away.
Robin despised her cunning ways and was deeply upset. He would have ended the partnership, but he wanted to discuss it with Sabrina first.
"Even if she wasn’t, I still wouldn’t," he said emotionlessly. Shandra smiled and challenged him,
"Then let her excuse us."
She believed that if Sabrina excused them, Robin would revert back to his true self.
Perhaps he was only behaving this way to avoid offending Sabrina, but unfortunately for Shandra, Robin never liked being controlled.
The only woman he had given that power to so far was his ex-wife because she loved him unconditionally, and he knew that she would never intentionally hurt him.
"No. You have no right to dictate my life. You have no right to tell
what I should or should not do. If you have nothing else to say, then excuse ."
Robin turned abruptly and grabbed the intercom before Shandra could utter another word.
"Aria, please bring
my schedule for the week."
The color drained from Shandra’s face as she realized that Robin was done with her. He continued with his usual duties, completely ignoring her.
When Aria entered the office and approached Robin’s desk, he spoke to her as if Shandra didn’t exist.
"Only point out the most important ones. The non-urgent ones can be scheduled for next week," he said, lifting his head.
Seeing Aria still standing, he motioned for her to sit in the chair next to Shandra.
"Sit, Aria. This eting is very important," he commanded.
Aria obeyed, and they continued their discussion about Robin’s etings, completely disregarding Shandra’s presence. She had never felt so humiliated in her life.
Swallowing a lump in her throat, Shandra stood up and walked out of Robin’s office without saying goodbye.
As soon as the door shut, Robin felt a heavy weight lift from him. He couldn’t understand why he hadn’t noticed these triggers before.
Sabrina’s presence always brought a sense of lightness and calmness, but it was never the sa with other won.
Robin let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding and turned to Sabrina.
"My queen, I don’t think we should proceed with this eting involving Shandra’s dad."
Sabrina pursed her lips slightly, and just as she was about to respond, Aria asked,
"Should I excuse you, sir and ma’am?"
"Stop the formality and call
by my na. I’m not your boss," Sabrina said casually but Aria refused since she was a co-owner.
"You are my boss or I would rather call you Mrs. Jewel."
"We..." Sabrina was about to say that ’we are not married’ but as if Robin discerned it, he quickly interjected,
"Yes, Aria, call her Mrs. Jewel but you can excuse us for now."
"Yes Sir," Aria smiled, stood up and left the office.
Left alone, Robin rose from his desk and went to sit in front of Sabrina. He began to break down everything for her,
"I am not suggesting this because I fear succumbing to her temptations. Believe , once I make a decision, I stick to it."
He paused, and Sabrina eagerly awaited his conclusion.
"I am well aware of the lengths won can go to. What if she sets
up at that Casino? It would be similar to how Zayla manipulated those pictures on social dia. My dear, they were never what they appeared to be."
Sabrina nodded in understanding but couldn’t help but ask, "How much profit would you gain from partnering with them?"
"Partnering with them would result in significant expansion of their clubs and casinos, potentially yielding hundreds of millions in additional profit for ."
As Sabrina heard about the financial benefits, she understood that it ant little to Robin.
However, no matter how she looked at it, other won like Vivian Shaw were also lurking in the shadows.
Others may also arise along the way, so how many businesses was Robin willing to lose simply because these won had special interests?
"If a similar issue arises with another company, will you continue severing partnerships based on your principles?"
Robin tensed slightly, but quickly regained his composure. "You’re right. I can’t keep pushing away good businesses because of a few cunning won. I will hire bodyguards instead, but..."
"But what?" Sabrina asked, relieved that he understood the underlying aning of her words.
She knew that Robin would have to et many business partners, and she might not always be able to accompany him.
They needed to find a compromise that would make it all worthwhile.
"But I hate being away from you. If I have business etings outside of work hours, would you mind coming with ?" he asked earnestly.
Sabrina smiled and replied,
"For now, yes, but not when my belly becos too big. You wouldn’t want a pregnant woman following you everywhere."
Robin had never taken her out in the past, even when she looked perfect without a protruding belly. So how could he be comfortable taking her everywhere now?
Well, Sabrina had no idea how deeply Robin loved her. His love was as vast as the ocean and as high as the sky. It was a feeling he had never experienced before, but one he was proud to feel now.
He knew there was no need to tell her. He would simply have to show her as the days went by.
"Be prepared, my queen. I might just surprise you."
