Chapter 315: Chapter 315 - For old tis’ sake, can I get a hug?

Why is she here? Doesn’t she have work to attend to?"

Robin’s gaze darkened dangerously at Shandra’s question.

However, as he looked around and his gaze settled on Aria, he convinced himself that Shandra could not be referring to Sabrina.

"You don’t know that she’s my secretary? This is where she belongs," he said sternly, addressing Aria instead.

His intention was for Shandra to understand that she had no right to speak about Sabrina in that manner.

It also ant that she could be pardoned since, for all he knew, her words were directed at Aria.

Sabrina and Aria frowned slightly, both aware that Shandra was indeed addressing Sabrina.

However, Sabrina also understood that Robin did not want to acknowledge Shandra’s uncivilized question. She smiled, wondering if Shandra grasped Robin’s intended aning.

Shandra, sensing Robin’s tone, realized that if she dared to speak against Sabrina again, the business deal might be jeopardized.

She forced a smile, feeling irritation building up in her heart as she believed she had returned too late.

Perhaps if she had co as soon as she heard about the divorce, she would have had a better chance.

Suppressing her dismay, she responded,

"I agree. I’m sorry. She just looks different this morning."

Shandra’s intense gaze settled on Sabrina, but she was afraid to address her directly. Instead, she shifted her attention to Aria, attempting to make Robin believe that he was right and she was not referring to Sabrina.

After catching up with Robin’s satirical warning, he nodded and extended his hand to Sabrina.

"Shall we, my queen?" he asked. Shandra felt a pang of jealousy as Robin ignored her, finding him even more attractive in that mont.

As Robin’s hand patiently waited for Sabrina’s, Shandra swallowed nervously, desperately wanting a chance to speak to him alone.

Sabrina joined her hand with his, and they walked intimately to the office.

Aria, pleased with the progress her boss had made with his ex-wife, smiled like a fool. However, Shandra seethed with anger as she followed behind them.

Sabrina settled onto the visitors’ couch, pulled out her laptop, and began responding to important emails.

anwhile, Shandra uncomfortably took a seat in front of Robin. She leaned in and whispered,

"I need to speak to you in private," hoping Sabrina wouldn’t hear.

Unfortunately, Robin responded loudly enough for Sabrina to hear,

"This is private. If it wasn’t, we would be having this eting at the reception," he said sarcastically. Shandra felt disheartened, while Sabrina smirked without looking their way.

"Can’t she excuse us? Doesn’t she trust you?" Shandra asked, trying to make Robin feel as though Sabrina’s presence was due to a lack of trust.

If it had been in the past, Robin would have felt guilty, but things had changed and he knew that Sabrina was only there because he wanted her to be.

His lips curved slightly, and he spoke confidently, his gaze filled with admiration for Sabrina.

"She trusts

completely, but I don’t want her out of my sight. Do you have a problem with that?" he asked seriously, his gaze piercing.

Then his expression darkened once again. "I thought you were here for business."

Shandra perked up, adopting a businesslike deanor to match her outfit.

"I am, but I’m wondering if you were aware that she was answering most of your calls," Shandra asked innocently, feeling disheartened by Robin’s response.

"She is my wife, and I don’t hide anything from her. She has the right to my phone, whether I know about it or not. Now, will you get straight to the point, or will you continue talking about my wife?"

Shandra couldn’t understand what was happening. Robin had never been this affectionate towards her when they were dating in college.

She had also heard that Robin had treated Sabrina poorly before, so she wondered if he was pretending or telling the truth. She decided to find out later. For now, she would just focus on business to avoid irritating him.

"I wanted to invite you to my father’s casino this weekend. He is eting so business partners, and I would like you to be there for a potential partnership. You would have an advantage over the other businessn," Shandra explained.

"Is that all?" Robin asked, his expression blank. Shandra sensed that he might not accept the invitation and pressed further, asking,

"But will you be able to make it?"

"No, I’m sorry. I have prior commitnts this weekend," he responded honestly.

Disappointnt flashed in Shandra’s eyes as she had hoped her father could put in a good word for her.

Knowing that Robin held her father in high regard and could be persuaded, Shandra didn’t want to give up.

"What about next weekend?" she asked, hoping for a different response.

However, Robin shook his head, sensing sothing off about her insistence on a weekend at the casino when the eting could easily be held on a weekday in her father’s office.

"Can’t it be scheduled for a weekday?" he asked, his tone serious.

"Most of the clients are coming from different states, and we wanted to make it a business mixed with pleasure kind of event," she smiled, thinking that the idea might appeal to Robin, who used to enjoy clubbing.

Unfortunately, Robin was not enthused, as his only ambition now was to win back his ex-wife.

"I understand. I will discuss it with my wife and get back to you."

Shandra’s smile froze as she sensed that Sabrina would once again undermine her plans. Was Sabrina using her pregnancy as a ans to trap Robin? And was Robin even certain that the babies she was carrying were his?

Shandra had countless unanswered questions, but she pushed her brunette hair behind her ears and mustered a smile as she asked again,

"How much longer do I have to wait to hear from you?"

"I’m not sure, but my secretary will contact you," Robin replied, taken aback by Shandra’s offense.

"Robin, why are you doing this to ?" she asked, her voice trembling with tears and her eyes welling up.

Robin was shocked, and Sabrina diverted her attention from her laptop to focus on the conversation unfolding at Robin’s desk.

"Pardon ?" Robin responded, feeling accused and offended.

"We had sothing," Shandra blinked away her tears, though her voice still carried the weight of her emotions.

Robin remained calm but gave his full attention as he reminded her,

"Had, not have." This ant that whatever had happened between them was in the past and should remain there.

"Is there a difference?" Shandra asked in a disappointed tone, no longer caring that Sabrina was there.

Robin responded, unfazed,

"A big one. Whatever we had was before I got married," he said with the sa calmness, which greatly annoyed Shandra.

"But you are divorced," she ntioned, realizing it was too late. Robin’s gaze darkened dangerously once more, his voice stern,

"The next ti I hear that word from you, you will not be allowed into this office again, and I will cancel all relationships, business, or friendship."

Shandra felt disheartened, but it was hard to give up, especially when Robin had beco so principled.

She made a final request, asking,

"For old tis’ sake, can I get a hug? She’s here anyway, so it’s no big deal, right?"
