After the precedent set by Tao Yuan, Li Yi received so intelligence that significantly reduced the difficulty of delivering his letter, even making him feel sowhat relaxed because he could avoid the usual paths by using the thods of an Evolver and test dangers with the skills of a Martial Artist.
If it were an ordinary person trying to navigate this route, the risk would be enormous.
At that mont, Li Yi avoided the accumulated water and stood on a single bed, looking at the corpse in the bathroom bathtub.
He didn’t rush to get closer but continued to observe for a while.
Because Li Yi wanted to know whether the now-deceased Wang Fei was just a useless corpse or a fierce ghost lying in wait; he did not want to die here in confusion.
The room was eerily quiet at the mont.
Li Yi controlled his Qi-Blood and held his breath, standing still as a statue, with only the regular ticking of dripping water echoing around him, which wasn’t affected by any supernatural powers, so he could temporarily judge that the room was safe for now.
At least until he t so condition.
With that thought, his Fist Power and Gang Qi erupted, and he threw a punch that imdiately penetrated and brought down half of the bathroom wall.
Once the dust settled, Li Yi leaped forward, stepping onto the dry broken bricks and moved beside the bathtub.
"No danger, everything is normal." His sensory perception fully extended, he had control over every movent around him.
With this level of caution, Li Yi slowly took out the yellow letter and placed it on the corpse in the bathtub.
"Does this count as the completion of the letter delivery task?" he wondered sowhat uncertainly.
But soon, Li Yi saw the yellow letter on the corpse dissolve at a rate visible to the naked eye, turning into a pile of dust in re seconds.
Seeing this, he confird that he had indeed successfully delivered the letter.
The corpse of Wang Fei that had received this letter now underwent so eerie changes.
The corpse began to slowly sink, as the small bathtub transford into a seemingly bottomless abyss, completely engulfing the body.
Li Yi initially wanted to leave imdiately, but then he rembered Tao Yuan’s words.
The water here is very special, possessing so supernatural power. Although it’s dangerous, it allows one to see so invisible fierce ghosts.
Perhaps he should risk taking so with him; it might be useful later.
With that thought, Li Yi imdiately took out a bottle of Golden Nutrient Liquid, drank it down, and then picked up a cup, filling a glass bottle with the murky Corpse Water.
He was very careful, his hand steady, not touching a drop.
Soon after filling the bottle, he closed the lid, shook it to ensure nothing dripped out, and then imdiately rushed out of the room.
With just a leap, he crossed the door, burst through the balcony, and into mid-air.
"Li Yi, how did it go?" Qin Bing was waiting downstairs; seeing Li Yi leap out, he couldn’t help but ask.
From midair, Li Yi flipped and landed solidly on the ground from the third floor.
"Delivery successful. Wang Fei’s corpse was soaking in a bathtub on the third floor. The person was already dead. After I sent the letter, the body sank into the water and completely disappeared. This water contaminated with supernatural elents is indeed very strange; a small bathtub feels like a bottomless hole, the body sank and left no trace."
"Successful? That’s really great," Qin Bing imdiately sighed with relief.
Li Yi continued, "I now understand that the letter delivery task is a matter of intelligence gathering ability. The more information obtained, the easier the delivery becos. If we can gather enough intelligence, such tasks won’t be difficult even for ordinary people, and during delivery, one must avoid attacks from fierce ghosts. Fierce ghosts require certain conditions to kill people. If these two things can be managed, I think our chances of surviving these three months are pretty good."
This experience in letter delivery gave him both experience and confidence.
"Your words make think about how ordinary people survive in this world. In the face of fierce ghosts, ordinary people are completely at a disadvantage, and even Ghost Tars have to be very careful with fierce ghosts. This is a ti to use our brains more. Hence, the Ghost Post Office trains ssengers not for their strength but their minds, helping ssengers quickly learn how to deal with fierce ghosts," Qin Bing had also realized much.
"It should be that way. Let’s not worry about these now; let’s leave this place first. It’s relatively safe around here, no need to burn the letter to return to the Ghost Post Office," Li Yi said.
"Right," Qin Bing agreed.
The two quickly left the dormitory building and then rejoined the others, informing them that the letter had been successfully delivered.
At that mont, the three ordinary ssengers were extrely excited.
They had thought this letter delivery task would be very dangerous. They did nothing, yet the task was completed effortlessly.
Through this thod, Li Yi also understood that group letter delivery does not require everyone’s participation; as long as the letter is delivered by soone, others who feel less confident can entrust the letter to more capable individuals for delivery.
But...doesn’t that encourage laziness?
No.
This Ghost Post Office couldn’t possibly be that nice, making up such a rule.
Sending letters and not sending them must make a difference.
"Perhaps for ssengers, delivering letters is both a danger and an opportunity," Li Yi suddenly rembered the bottle of Corpse Water he had filled.
While facing fierce ghosts, ssengers also have the chance to obtain so supernatural items, tools, and even gain supernatural powers during their delivery tasks.
This could increase their chances of survival afterward.
If the ssenger only thinks of escaping, their chances of survival will definitely continue to decrease, especially since one must deliver fifteen letters—it’s impossible to get fifteen free passes in a row.
"Li Yi, I’m leaving, I need to find a place to cultivate," Zhang Jing suddenly said at that mont.
"Are you really going to avoid the Ghost Post Office and refuse the delivery tasks?" Li Yi was very surprised.
Zhang Jing said, "I asked Guo You before, there’s roughly seven days between one letter being completed and the next arriving. I want to use this ti to condense my soul. If I fail, I’ll go back to the Ghost Post Office for the next delivery task. That’s a thod that has the best of both worlds."
"There’s about a seven-day gap between two letters? Okay, I understand. Since you plan to do that, I respect your decision." Li Yi didn’t persuade any further.
After all, everyone has their own thoughts; he’s not the captain Zhang Xun and can’t manage that much.
"If I succeed, I’ll send you a ssage; if I fail, and you don’t see at the Ghost Post Office, then don’t look for , I’m definitely already dead." Zhang Jing said firmly and imdiately left without looking back.
Li Yi looked at Qin Bing and asked, "What about you? Are you planning to deliver letters, or try for a breakthrough?"
Qin Bing replied with a wry smile, "Zhang Jing is certain about his breakthrough, but I’m not. I’ll just deliver letters. If we go by one letter every seven days, we might have a chance to last three months. If we can’t make it, then so be it, I considered the likelihood of not returning even before coming here."
"But I plan to walk around these few days, see the world at least, so it’s not a wasted trip."
Although the current delivery task was completed, everyone’s spirits were down because the future looked too bleak.
Li Yi remained silent and could only watch as Qin Bing left, knowing he was trying to relieve his stress, but also realizing that with such a state of mind, he won’t last long if he participates in the delivery tasks.
He also didn’t plan to leave Zhongyang City, intending to find a place to cultivate here and try to unlock his Spiritual Sense.
He glanced at Guo You and others, didn’t say anything, and left on his own.
Guo You originally wanted to call out to Li Yi but held back out of reverence, understanding that to survive in the Ghost Post Office, Li Yi might be their best hope.
"Let’s go too, now that this delivery task is completed, we can rest for a while." The other two regular ssengers were in a relatively joyful mood at the mont.
Soon.
This small team disbanded and went their separate ways.
But the breathing space wasn’t very long.
As days passed by.
Li Yi, Zhang Jing, and Qin Bing ceased contact with each other, each unaware of what the others were doing.
During this period, Li Yi was non-stop cultivating.
He cultivated on the rooftop of a building in Zhongyang City for three days, and on the morning of the fourth day, a familiar supernatural power had already appeared around him.
It was a winding path, with the horrific Ghost Post Office at the end of it.
"Again?" Li Yi’s lips curled into a bitter smile at this mont.
Agreed on roughly one letter every seven days, thinking it was only the fourth day and the task was already coming, if he had known it would be like this, he should have delayed his first letter to the last day, to gain a few more days of freedom.
Facing the inevitable delivery task, he had to give up cultivating and walk down that path.
Just like before, he arrived at the Ghost Post Office.
But this ti, he didn’t see Qin Bing, nor Zhang Jing, even Guo You and the others from last ti weren’t there.
This ti the first floor of the Ghost Post Office was very quiet, seemingly without a single person.
This situation ant that Li Yi was the only one with a delivery task this ti; the others had none.
So tomorrow’s delivery task would likely be a solo one.
"Alone is good, at least the danger level in delivering alone is less," Li Yi thought to himself.
He reached Room 11.
The room was a bit different, having more items; it seed that other ssengers had stayed there during the period, leaving behind quite a bit of food and water, and so daily necessities.
