"I'm not sure if it's really him, but with all the information we know, there's only him that can hope to face the Barbarian powerhouse on the other side. And for him to co here in just a day's worth of ti is not out of the realm of possibilities. If he has a flying Demon Beast companion then crossing such a great distance is not impossible.
Who knows maybe he has a teleportation scroll on him no matter unlikely it may seem to be. " Rea replied, making a believable story so that her Captain does not focus on Master's ability to travel from one place to another rapidly. She also made sure that Captain Mary Read is amply prepared when and if Danny show himself on the battlefield.
Mary contemplated what Rea said and finally ca to the conclusion that it was indeed possible for Danny to reach the camp. A flying Demon beast that can carry soone on its back is very rare but for soone like Danny, it may not be hard to acquire the allegiance of such a beast.
Back when she attended her sect, many of her senior sisters and teachers kept a flying Demon Beast Companion, though it was still rare to have a flying Demon beast capable of being ridden in the sky. As for the Teleportation scroll, well that was sothing only the top powerhouses of the Great Sect would have in their pockets.
Not to ntion they are kept aside to save their skin in a life-threatening event not to cut short so distance from one battlefield to another and save ti.
"Maybe you are right. If Danny is really here, then repelling the Barbarian back to their forest won't be an impossible feat." Mary said, turning her gaze from her subordinate and towards the commander of this army who have just now started ordering his n to get ready.
She saw a rider coming towards her possibly carrying orders from the commanders about where they will be stationed and how which unit they will help reinforce.
.....
Rothra looked coldly at the humans as they slowly divided their troops into three parts. One stayed behind, the reserves probably, while another group went down the hill with the intention to flank them from the sides or round them from the back. At the sa ti, the most significant part of the human troops was coming straight at them, mostly on foot, carrying steel swords, bows, and shields.
"Basho, I thought they would hide behind the safety of their wooden defenses, but it seems they want to confront us directly. Either their commander is a fearless man or he takes us very lightly." One advisor standing beside the chieftain said after he saw the humans coming out of their camps and diving themselves into three different groups.
Rothra Antral coldly harrumphed, "Arrogant humans! They dare to face us Barbarians in close combat" the chief spat on the ground and lifted his hamr whose head is twice the size of his head, onto his shoulders and says with utter contempt "It will be their folly then.'
"Warriors of the Anthral, I command you to rush forward and crush those human's skulls, every last one of them. I want you to bathe this battlefield with their blood," said Rothra has made his way forward to mount a Demon Beast with horns like that of an elk and the body of a bull.
A satisfied smile appeared on his face. His ride was Late stage Rank 2 Demon Beast known for its great sharing powers and defense. He can already imagine those humans getting crushed under its steel-like hooves and horns and him bashing the heads of any that survived.
Every Barbarian warrior lifted their weapons above their shoulders or head and rushed in the direction of the human army while screaming at the top of their lungs.
While the human army was decently organized and walked at the sa pace, the Barbarians on the other hand were running with their full might, completely unorganized.
First ca a volley of arrows fired from the human side, they fell on the Barbarians running at the humans. So Barabarains blocked the arrows with a shield, so took a swing at the arrows about to hit them while the rest either failed to put up their defense on ti or they had too much confidence in their defense and ignored the arrows hitting them on their body.
Soone like Rothra and his four generals plus those Barbarians that had achieved cultivation of Rank 2.
They breezed through the rain of arrows as if they were nothing but sharp wind tingling their skin.
Of course, those barbarians with strength below Rank 2 felt more than that if they failed to protect themselves from the arrows properly. Around 70 Barbarians were injured lightly or seriously due to the arrows as they started to fall behind and fell on their knees in pain. Around thirty unlucky souls fell on the ground for good with arrow shafts sticking out of their eyes, mouths, heads, or chests.
Still, that did not slow down the barbarians as they ran on their foot or on the back of Demon Beasts. A few hundred of them ca to a stop and fired arrows from their own bows at the Humans at the forefront.
But they were soon left frustrated as those targeted humans raised their shields above their heads in ti and protected themselves from getting hit. Hell, so even fired back without care as if they knew no stray arrow coming their way would hit them. Even if an arrow flew close to their heads, they seed unperturbed.
But no one noticed this anomaly as the human in the vanguard were fully comprised of artificial puppets.
