Everything was in place.

The five kings and the emperor had understood the feeling of despair before the absolute power of the demons.

Now, they were wondering whether they should cooperate or not.

They all knew that it was necessary.

But at the sa ti, they could not ignore the conflicts.

And that was where Kael’s group stepped in.

If they still couldn’t decide, then he would help them do so.

How?

Of course, by putting on a play to fool everyone.

Mavis, Kael’s soldier, would play the role of the villain.

Her mission was only one, to make everyone understand how weak they were against the demons.

Even though she was a dragon, who could recognize her true identity?

They would definitely assu she was a demon.

Then, they would definitely think that they were about to die.

And that was where the main character, Alaric, appeared.

His role was that of the hero Dix’s ssenger.

With the help of their Ability and The King’s aura, it was not difficult to make people believe that fact.

In this world, Dix was considered a god.

And so his ssenger was also considered an angel at the very least.

***

All the lights were dancing around Alaric, or more clearly, gathering around his sword, creating a scene that seed like it only appeared in dreams.

Alaric, standing at the top of the tower like an unshakeable hope, raised his sword over his head.

Preparing for a slash to blow away all the darkness.

anwhile, Hans was right behind, hiding in the shadows.

The King couldn’t possibly cut the darkness in half.

He didn’t have any such Ability.

That was why the task would be given to the protagonist.

He had [Sword Saint], after all.

"I’m ready. You can start anyti."

Hans announced.

And Kael, who was not far away, also gave a thumbs up, signaling that Alaric could swing his sword at any mont.

"Thank you."

The King smiled in response.

However, he had no intention of swinging his sword yet.

Before that, he glared at the five kings and the emperor.

Despite the distance, the six of them could still feel Alaric’s gaze.

"As I said before, I ca to save humanity. However, I cannot fully assist you in defeating the demon king."

His voice was loud and clear.

So that not only the rulers but also the subjects could hear.

"If you do not accept change, then my presence here is useless."

"...What do you an, noble ssenger?"

The emperor of the Voidveil Kingdom spoke.

"Don’t play dumb. You know what I’m talking about."

Alaric’s voice was cold.

Whether they could be saved from here or not depended on their answer.

The five kings and the emperor looked at each other.

They were forced to choose a correct answer.

But, that didn’t matter since they all had an answer in mind.

"We have decided to cooperate!"

"Very good!"

Receiving that resolute answer, The King swung his sword down with all his might.

Whoosh!

The sound of wind being cut in half rang out.

The sound of reality being torn apart also appeared.

And... the sound of darkness being pushed back could not be ignored.

Boom!

A huge explosion appeared, emitting a light so great that everyone was forced to cover their eyes.

"..."

And then, when they slowly opened their eyes...

...Maivs and her enormous energy sphere had completely vanished.

But, that was not all.

"...It’s amazing."

At that mont, everyone was filled with tears.

The darkness had been blown away, and the light had returned.

Everyone here had never treasured light this much before.

At this mont, they considered it a bosom friend.

And then, tears began to roll down their cheeks.

The first reason was because they had been saved from the hands of death.

And the second reason was because... a hope to repel the demon race had appeared.

Everyone believed that with the help of the hero Dix’s ssenger, humanity would see the light at the end of the tunnel once again.

They had never felt so happy and lucky in their lives.

Everything was truly like a gust of wind.

It had co suddenly, and it had ended just as suddenly.

But, a gust of wind could not have left such an impact.

***

While everyone was staring at the sky, Alaric sat down heavily, panting.

"Great!"

Kael smiled and sat down beside him.

"You did well, Alaric."

Hans smiled as well and sat down.

"Thank you."

The King bumped fists with his two teammates.

Then, like everyone else, the three of them looked up at the clouds in the sky.

The feeling of being bathed in the warm sunlight was truly wonderful.

Today, they had accomplished sothing great.

"But unfortunately, this is only the beginning."

Kael felt quite disappointed.

If only this were the end, how great it would be.

Unfortunately, the entire human race still had a greater challenge ahead.

"Demons, commander, ... But most importantly..."

The King’s eyes showed a hint of murderous intent.

"Demon King."

Hans glanced at Alaric’s expression.

"You... seem to hate the Demon King very much?"

He nodded.

"I have to be the one to kill him. No one can take my credit."

He was no longer the Dix of his previous life, a man who felt scared, small, and hopeless before the Demon King.

He was now Alaric, a better version of the past.

And The King had an important mission.

He needed to take revenge.

He needed to do what he had been unable to do hundreds of years ago.

"Wait for ..."

Not paying too much attention to Alaric’s feelings, Kael complained to himself:

"Tsk. Eden, Regulus, Astral, Amon, ... Looks like we have quite a few troubleso opponents."

This battle was destined to be bloody.

But strangely, none of them felt like backing down.

It wasn’t because they weren’t afraid of the demon race’s power.

It was because they believed they could win.

"Sigh."

After that, all three of them stood up at the sa ti.

The break was over.

It was ti to move on to the next part of the plan.

Kael’s group had successfully changed the minds of the five kings and the emperor.

However, they still couldn’t change the minds of the five kingdoms and the empire’s subjects.

The subjects had their own lives.

They had a different way of thinking.

Kael turned to Alaric, then gave a teasing smile:

"It seems like your workload has increased again, Alaric."
