Chapter 853: Chapter 830 Problems and Situations

“This is indeed a very profound philosophical question, and I would love to hear your thoughts.” Lancelot smiled warmly at Soveris, “You and your kin possess the ability to transform. Among them, there are Elves, humans, and I even saw a few Tiflin. Each person has many other labels as well—Shapeshifter, Beastman, Raventown resident, Outsider, native of Derrick Kingdom, Rebel against the Demon’s Domain lord… How do you view yourselves?”

“… I’ve never thought about it.” The brown-haired Elf looked around sowhat awkwardly, “My question just now was absolutely not intended to offend anyone, it’s purely out of curiosity…”

“No need to be nervous, my friend, your question did not offend anyone.” Lancelot shook his head with a smile, “What I ant to say is, you can use a specific label to describe a group of people, but it’s hard to fully define a person using just one label. In my case, my past adventures have given many uncommon labels, so of which make your people uneasy, right?”

“Everyone is still very grateful to you…”

“But they question my motives. No need to deny it; I fully understand what the Barlow Fla Demon represents.” Lancelot covered his mouth, coughed lightly twice, and gave Soveris an apologetic smile, “Everyone has their own secrets, and I don’t want to concoct a lie to gain your trust. If I must explain, my companions and I are Blood War rcenaries, residing in the Bottomless Abyss. We have slain more Fiends than Goblins, and in the process, have gained so special abilities. For example, I can briefly transform into a Barlow Fla Demon, akin to a mage’s transmutation spell, no different from your transformation into Ravens.”

“But that’s exactly what worries everyone. Many of my kin maintain their Raven form for prolonged periods, eventually forgetting their true identities…”

“I understand, but I can’t maintain the Fla Demon form for long. Otherwise, I would have been more than happy to annihilate that Undead army for you, I assure you. A true Barlow could indeed accomplish such a feat, at least without resorting to self-destruction.” Lancelot gave a self-mocking smile, “If you still don’t believe , there are more direct pieces of evidence proving I’m not an evil person…”

Before Soveris could respond, Lancelot untied the Dinsional Bag at his waist and drew out two swords, one long and one short. The shorter sword’s blade was nearly transparent but sparkled with starlight when turned; the long sword was forged from a mysterious bluish-green tal, its entire body radiating a soft and holy white glow.

“Co, hold them in your hands and tell what you feel…”

The mont these weapons appeared, the Elf’s face changed, and when he finally held the swords, his expression turned to one of reverent fear.

“This feeling… it’s like having goodness and justice in my hands…” Soveris choked out, tears silently rolling down his cheeks, “They… who are they, Sir?”

“One belonged to a forr King Consort of the Aira Celestials, and the other to a seraph who gave everything to fight evil, but that’s another story.”

“I understand.” The Elf solemnly returned the two treasured swords to the weakened Knight, “I offer my sincerest apologies, Sir. To gain the recognition of these Holy Relics, you cannot possibly be an Abyssal Demon…”

“Uh… it’s not that absolute. Although I indeed am not, there are good demons out there too…” Lancelot awkwardly scratched his nose, “Let’s leave it at that and discuss the situation outside. Have the townsfolk been settled?”

“Rest assured, they have been.” Soveris nodded, “With the Witch defeated, there is nothing in the forest that poses a threat to us, and the Lich’s army has left Raventown after causing destruction, leaving only a few guards without further forays into the forest. Actually, we can now organize to retake Raventown, but so believe it would attract unnecessary attention from the Lich, and we can’t repair the walls in the short term. If the enemy attacks again, we have no defense. What do you think, Sir Lancelot?”

“I’m not very familiar with your situation, but if long-term forest living doesn’t severely impact your morale, the latter option seems wiser.” Lancelot took out a soft cloth and gently polished the blue-green sword, “From a purely military standpoint, controlling the forest offers substantial advantages: you can choose when and whom to attack, while the enemy can only defend passively. Each successful raid would be a slap in the Lich’s face, proving his claim of being a True God is a lie. Of course, it’s just my suggestion; you need to decide for yourselves.”

“I will relay it to everyone. We all highly value your opinion.” Soveris said sincerely, “On that note, we plan to widely publicize your performance in the Battle of Raventown to show that the Lich is not an invincible enemy. Is that alright?”

“Certainly.” Lancelot nodded, “But do not ntion my na. Instead, emphasize that I am a warrior blessed by the true Lord of the Dead, understand?”

“Understood. I will also organize people to actively propagate the teachings of Lord Cranvo…”

“If there’s anything unclear, feel free to ask .” Little Elizabeth softly interjected from the side, “I… I will do my best to answer everyone’s questions…”

“Of course, Miss Elizabeth, many people already regard you as the Holy Maiden.”

“… Ah?”

“There’s nothing wrong with that.” Lancelot chuckled as he glanced at the suddenly blushing little Vampire, “Where is Tanya? She’s with you, right?”

“Yes, she’s busy contacting the followers of the Raven Queen, apparently discussing so plan… Sir, does Miss Tanya really have a way to summon the Raven Queen?”

“I hope so, otherwise who will stand against Peyton Derrick?” Lancelot shook his head, “Although I’m unsure of the exact form it will take, I believe in her and hope you and your kin can cooperate with her activities.”

“Of course.” Soveris showed a sowhat complex expression, “After all, it was because of the Raven Queen that we gained the ability to transform into Ravens. So see it as a curse, while others believe it to be evidence of favor. But either way, this ability has given us a sense of identity beyond our original races, enabling us to unite closely and survive in this suffocating Demon’s Domain…”
