Chapter 20: Chapter 20 - Sacrifice

I expected her to have tears of delight in her eyes or to see the familiar smile that has the power to light up my whole world, or she would crush

into a bone-crushing hug, but nothing like that happened. She kept looking at

for a few minutes in confusion, and suddenly, a knowing look crossed her face.

"You must be Aadhya" as soon as she said this, I knew she was not my gramma. She never used my na as she had many nas for

according to her mood.

"But you are not my gramma," I said to her, and she nodded. "But you look like her." I pointed out, and she nodded

"Because I am her twin."... {I didn’t know gramma had a twin}

"Where is she? Do you have her contact number?" I asked her eagerly, and she kept looking at

for a few seconds but then turned and went inside the room. Alpha looked at us in confusion, but I didn’t have ti to explain anything to him. I walked behind her and found her sitting on a rocking chair near the window.

"Why did you take her here, Ryan? Did you forget that I don’t like to entertain guests in my ho?" she asked him and ignored .

"She is joining my pack along with the pup. I was taking them to the crescent moon, but back in the blue moon, we got a problem with vampires, and I needed to talk with you about it," he explained the situation to her and sat in front of her on the floor. He is too down-to-earth for being an alpha king. "I should have asked you," he said to her, and she looked at him lovingly, then took a deep breath and looked at dee.

"Whose pup is he?" she asked .

"Alpha pair of full moon pack," I told her, and she looked at him kindly.

"Do you want to eat so cupcakes or cookies?" she asked him, and Dee looked at . I didn’t know what to do, so I looked at Alpha, and when he nodded, I gave permission to dee. "Ryan, go and serve him so cupcakes," she ordered Alpha, and to my astonishnt, he got up from his place, took Dee’s hand in his, and got out of the room. ...{he is the alpha king himself; I have seen his effect on Alpha Aiden and Luna Olivia, but in front of an old witch, he is behaving like... like... like a very normal person. Did she bewitch him?} ...

I looked at her, and she was still sitting on her chair calmly, but I could see the troubled creases on her forehead. Her eyes were closed, so I took this ti to see her properly. She is a replica of my gramma. When she looked at Alpha, she had similar expressions of love that gramma had for ... {maybe I can get so information about gramma from her} ...

After a few minutes, Alpha ca back, but Dee was not with him. Before I asked him anything, he gestured for

to stop. "He is sleeping" as soon as he said, I already knew sothing was wrong... {I would not have believed him}

"What have you done?" I glared at him.

"Cupcakes have sleeping dicines in them. We have to discuss a few things that are hazardous for dee to know about" as soon as these words escaped his lips, I marched out of the room and started searching for him everywhere. I can hear footsteps coming behind . I ran upstairs and opened the door on my right, and took a calming breath when I found Dee soundly sleeping on the bed. I ran to him, checked him, and found that he was asleep and had no mark on his body.

"You can’t trust . I got that, but the lady outside is your grandma’s sister, and still, you are doubting her," I heard Alpha’s irritated voice.

"I am neither trusting you nor the lady outside" as soon I said this, he gritted his teeth, "but for the first and last ti, I am trusting mate bond alpha because I wanted to know many things." he nodded calmly "don’t let anything happen to dee" he again nodded, and I walked out of the room towards the old lady that was waiting for us.

As soon as she saw us, she gave a pointed look to Alpha. He again took his seat on the floor in front of her "no need to give

those looks. I have already covered my powers, scent, aura, traces, everything. No one can even suspect that I am the alpha king," he explained to her, and she nodded then she looked at .

"Are you from the blue moon?" she asked , and I nodded "she is the reason for those vampires’ attacks on the blue moon pack. They are hunting her" as soon as she said this, Alpha got tensed, and I got confused.

"What do vampires have to do with ?" I asked her and sat beside Alpha Ryan. "Why would they want to hunt

down?"

"Only your grandma can answer these questions."

"Then give

her number or sothing."

"You are her granddaughter. Of all the people she knew, you should have her contact details" I got silent on this. "Do you even know that your grandma WAS a witch? ".. {why in this hell is she using ’WAS’ for my gramma.}

"What do you an by WAS?" I asked her nervously, and she fanned her hand casually in dismissal.

"That is one of my guesses," she said, making my blood boil "don’t glare at , Aadhya. If you had known about your grandma, you would not have asked

for her contact details. A sane man who knew her would never want to be in contact with her" I tried to control my anger.

"If you are going to talk like that about my gramma, then I should go and wait for Dee to wake up," I said sternly, and she smiled.

"Truth be told, I am not surprised by your attitude. If Shira truly loved anyone, then it’s you, Aadhya. She was ready to sacrifice everything to save you when you were born," and it was the first ti I felt that I could tolerate her. "I think I should tell you everything from the start, but I must warn you that this information will place you in great danger," she warned us sincerely, and we nodded.

"Fine, I think I should start with the major problem that made all this complicated. Our mother was a werewolf, and that also was an alpha born, but things get complicated when she was mated with a warlock" she paused and looked at our shocked expressions "before you ask sothing, let

confess, yes, we are hybrids" she gave us few minutes to digest the information then continued.

"Mom’s parents disapproved of this bond as witches and warlocks were thought of as wicked creatures then, but our mother doesn’t have the heart to reject her mate, and I don’t think anyone has the heart to do this. So, after a lot of drama in their lives, it was decided that mom would leave the pack with dad because pack mbers don’t want any magical accidents to happen with pack mbers. They shifted here in this ho with the blue moon pack nearby because mom’s best friend was Luna of the blue moon pack at that ti. Obviously, our mom was a wolf, and separating her from wolves should have made her insane, so that was the best thing dad thought for mom, and this is also why our families have good relations with the blue moon pack till now."... {it seems like I just broke the family friendship between our families}

"When we were born, mom and dad were very happy, but they didn’t know about our powers. Slowly as we started growing up, our powers started surfacing. We both were blessed with wolves as well as the power of witches" she again paused, and now I am too eager to know everything that her pauses are irritating

"our parents were concerned about us. Despite being hybrids, we were extrely powerful. They didn’t want us to reveal our powers in front of others. We were sent to the blue moon for our studies, and that’s where we learned everything about wolves. On weekends we visited mom and dad, and that’s the ti when we learned about herbs and magic from our father. Everyone used to tell our parents that Amara and Shira are not only twins, but their souls reside in each other, and things remained like that our entire childhood."

"No matter how much people say that we were alike or similar, we are different from each other in many ways. Shira was not afraid of anyone. She used to do many stupid things just because she was curious about them. One day we were wandering on the borders of the blue moon when we found a vampire. He was severely wounded and was outside our pack borders. We were fifteen at that ti and had not transford into our wolves then. I instantly knew I had to run towards the pack house on the spot, but Shira stopped

from informing anyone and crossed the borders to heal that vampire." She stopped, and her facial expressions looked troubled. "She healed him and took a promise from

that I would not inform anyone about this. After that incident, things changed between us, she beca more secretive, and I never pushed her to tell

things. When we turned 18, we found our mates, and we got separated from each other. I always tried to stay in touch with her. Initially, she talked less, but later, she warned

to stop reaching her as it would be hazardous for my family and . At that ti, I knew that she had done sothing that placed her in a problematic situation." She again paused, and now my nerves were at their peak.

"Shira was always a very good person, but she doesn’t know that everyone in this world doesn’t deserve to be treated well. I found it much later from mom that she got into a problem with the vampires. They wanted her to help them do sothing very cruel, but she declined. They tried to threaten her with the life of her mate, but still, she declined and lost her mate in the hands of vampires" I knew that my gramma was a fierce and strong lady, but I didn’t know that she had suffered much in her life "after losing her mate she made the distance from everyone and sent her only daughter to blue moon pack for studies."

"But gramma said that she also has a son. My uncle who lives in Australia" I cut her in between, and she smiled.

"You should not believe your gramma’s words, Aadhya. Rose was her only daughter, and only a few people knew that Rose was also a part witch, but Shira never taught her witchcraft." I tried to digest this news. "I t Shira again because of Ryan. He shifted into his wolf at a very early age. So, when he shifted back, he was in critical condition. His father, being a friend of our dad, asked for our help. Dad called Shira and

to the crescent moon. She always avoided us but never had the heart to decline dad’s orders. We stayed at the crescent moon for six months treating him with our magic and dicines, our bond again blossod, and she told

about many things that scared

to death. She was dealing not only with vampires or werewolves but also hunters, humans, witches, warlocks, and everyone. I knew she was associated with them for good, but not everyone who knew about her powers was good. Few of them wanted her to do sothing wrong, and she never agreed with them, which created many problems in her life. She stayed at the crescent moon for only six months but only in that short span of ti vampires attacked the crescent moon pack. So, as soon as Ryan showed signs of recovery, Shira left us again." She said and shuddered a little.

"She was always a quick learner and learned a lot of things from everyone, whether they were vampires, humans, hunters, or warlocks. When Rose found Daniel, Shira disappeared from our lives. No one knew where she went or when she would co back. Rose tried many tis to make her stay with her, but she always said that there were many things that we couldn’t see or feel, but we had to take care of them. When rose got pregnant with Aadhya, no one was able to reach Shira even to inform her that she was going to be a granny, but when rose was about five months pregnant, suddenly Shira called rose at her residence, which was suspicious to all of us because she never talked about her residence to anyone before. A week after Rose went there, we received news that she had delivered a premature baby. No one has any hope that Aadhya will survive, not even rose, but we underestimated Shira." She said this and looked at .

"You don’t know anything, right," she asked , and I was not in a state to say anything. I shook my head negatively.

"We knew Shira could sacrifice anything to save soone’s life, but we never thought she would do that." She beca serious, and now her eyes were fixed on

"she sacrificed her wolf to save your life."
