When they reached the Bluebird district, there was dead silence.

The cars stopped near the gas station, and everyone alighted from the car.

"Still no zombies," Sylas said as he carefully used his senses to scan the surroundings.

"Everyone, stay alert. Dylan, Serena, and Sylas, co with ," Major Kyle said as he headed to the gas station.

The gas station was a ss. One of the pumps was vandalized, and cars were parked askew. So overturned and so with their doors wide open.

When they approached the pumps, the digital screens were dark because of the lack of electricity.

"We need to extract it manually," Major Kyle said.

Dylan lifted the tal access panel near the base of the pump, and the sll of gasoline wafted out, assaulting their nostrils.

Sylas took out the jerry cans, containers, funnels, manual hand pump, and siphon hose from his space.

Dylan took the siphon hose and let it down into the underground tank.

Serena quickly opened the cans when Dylan started pumping.

Can after can of gasoline was filled, and Sylas quickly stored it inside his space.

As they were filling the cans, Sylas felt the trembling of the ground increase. He frowned and looked around the surroundings. There was nothing, but his intuition said otherwise.

The disappearance of zombies in the red zone didn’t feel right, and Sylas knew sothing was definitely brewing in the dark, and it was not a good thing.

At the sa ti, Shaun also felt it.

"Major, we should leave quickly. Sothing doesn’t feel right," Shaun said, running towards them.

"How many cans have we filled so far?" Major Kyle asked.

"Ten twenty-liter cans and five small containers with ten liters," Serena said.

"That’s enough for now. Let’s leave," Major Kyle said.

Sylas stored all the containers in his space and quickly helped Dylan close the tal access panel.

Sylas wanted to store so gasoline for himself, but it looked like it was not possible at the mont. He tried to move the underground tank, but since it was embedded inside the ground, he could not move it.

Just when they were about to get back to their cars, Sylas suddenly stopped and looked in one direction.

"Sothing is approaching," Sylas said, instantly making everyone alert.

"How many? Can you feel it?" Major Kyle asked.

"Only one. Seems to be a zombie," Sylas said as he narrowed his eyes and looked in the direction where the zombie was approaching.

"Let’s hurry and leave," Major Kyle said. He had no intention of waiting for the zombie and killing it.

Everyone imdiately got inside the car, ready to leave.

But before they could leave, Sylas suddenly got out of the car again before anyone could react.

Bang!

A tal pole was thrown at them from nowhere, and Sylas used his spatial barrier to block it.

The tal pole fell to the ground with a loud bang, startling everyone inside the car.

"Oh my God!"

"Where did it co from?"

"F...k!"

Everyone exclaid.

If Sylas hadn’t blocked the tal pole, they could have been smashed by it.

A tal pole lay a few ters away from the cars, and Sylas looked toward the direction from which it had co. If it weren’t for his strong senses and quick actions, they all would have been dead or injured.

Sylas’ sharp eyes locked onto the building in the distance.

A figure stood there, looking at them. It was a human, but whether it was an awakened human or a zombie, Sylas had no way of knowing.

"What’s that?" Dylan asked as he squinted his eyes and looked in the direction where Sylas was staring.

"There are many zombies approaching," Sylas said.

At first, there was only one zombie, but now Sylas could sense a horde approaching behind that zombie.

"What should we do? Leave or stay and fight?" Shaun asked in an urgent tone.

Sylas shook his head, eyes still fixed on the figure standing on the building from afar. To be able to throw a tal pole from that distance was no joke. That human or whatever entity it was, it probably had a strength-type ability. If it’s a human, then its strength must be higher than Dylan’s. If it’s not a human, then...

’Well, things are going to get interesting,’ Sylas thought.

"Whatever is standing up there is probably stopping us from leaving. If we get inside the car, we can expect another surprise," Sylas said, cracking his neck.

"Looks like we have no choice but to fight," Major Kyle said as he quickly got ready with his gun.

"Everyone, deal with the zombies. I am going after that figure," Sylas said before leaving those words behind.

With a flash, he disappeared from the spot. His speed was so fast that the rest couldn’t follow his figure.

Sylas fixed his gaze on that humanoid figure and went straight at it.

Seeing Sylas approaching, the figure turned its back, jumped down from the building, and disappeared.

Seeing its quick movents, Sylas smirked and said under his breath, "I won’t leave without finding out what you actually are."

Sylas could sense several zombies heading towards him as soon as the figure disappeared.

Within a few seconds, the zombies ca into his view. Sylas frowned when he saw their movents. They were a bit different from normal zombies. Their movents were less stiff, but not by much. However, this little change imdiately caught Sylas’ attention.

’The zombies seem to have undergone so change!’ Sylas thought.

The zombies let out growls, and so even made unintelligible noises. When they sensed Sylas, they imdiately lunged at him with a speed faster than normal zombies.

Sylas maneuvered his spatial blade and imdiately severed the heads of the first batch of zombies that were obstructing his path.

So who managed to avoid it struggled to get up, still wanting to attack Sylas, but to Sylas, dealing with these zombies even though they seed to have undergone so changes still posed no threat to him.

With a quick wave of his hand, the last zombies were imdiately killed off by his spatial blade.

And just when Sylas was about to leave, he thought of sothing and imdiately stopped and slashed open one of the zombie’s heads with his spatial blade.
