Watching my own past is... I don’t feel good at all.
I should have let the Spirit King to use his magic like before and let sleep. I regretted that I rejected that offer.
We’re still watching my past. But it’s still weird that it was actually the Spirit King’s past when he, Victoria, and Shirley were watching my past.
Once in a while, I heard their comnts while watching my past. Not the Victoria and Shirley in real life, but the one in the illusion. Though Victoria and Shirley seem to be whispering to the Spirit King to not show us sothing we don’t need to see. Like how Victoria is drawing doodles on my body.
Or maybe she hasn’t drawn on my body yet. Because I rember that I woke up first when the in the illusion gained Divine Vision. So it should still be a while until then.
Then it’s the ti that I finally stopped at a village. It’s a familiar village with familiar people. The village I stopped at and where I opened my clinic at.
It didn’t take a lot of money to open a clinic. Because the villagers were kind enough to built one for free. After all, it was after several people got infected by so disease and died.
The Village Chief at that ti held a eting with the villagers to ask a nearby city for a doctor to stay there. But most offers were rejected by the doctors in the city because the pay was not good enough.
And I was lucky to get to that village. Or should I say that we’re both lucky?
I was looking for a place to settle. And the village was looking for a doctor.
So, after I said that I was a doctor, and prove it by doing treatnt to light injuries that so villagers had but difficult for them to do it by themselves, they happily accepted as a village doctor.
And they were especially happy when I didn’t ask for too much money. It’s much cheaper than receiving a treatnt from a doctor in a city.
That’s not without reason.
I lived for years doing work as a hunter. It’s just gathering herbs, but thanks to that, I beca quite familiar with dicinal herbs. So I realized that The fee for a dicine could be much cheaper than what the hospital ask.
And since I wanted a place to settle, I didn’t ask for too much. In fact, the villagers could even pay using the herbs they gathered from near the village.
"Oh, so the treatnt for so illnesses are actually that cheap? What about the expensive fee in Varadis then?" Harold asked.
Varadis is a country that is well-known for its dical developnt. Even most of the knowledge I spread to the doctors were discovered by doctors in Varadis.
I have never been to Varadis in my past life. But I have checked the hospital in this life.
And I have to say that they’re all expensive!
I know that the fee also include the treatnt. But even then, it was much more expensive than the fee of the sa treatnt in the hospital in Cassau.
"Well, because of the fact that the developnt of dicine in my kingdom is more advanced, many people smuggled from another country just to get a treatnt from any doctor in my country. So, I said that we need the hospital bill to be higher than normal so that illegal immigrants unable to pay. As for the local, we’re quite a rich country. So normal people could still get a treatnt in the hospital," old man Henry said.
That’s understandable.
Also, it’s not like the people there are extrely rich. Old man Henry said that its because he prepared a lot of jobs opening that helped with the health of the people. Like cleaning, maintenance, and other jobs that although they seem to be underestimated, they are useful to increase the health of the people living there.
So, Varadis might be the cleanest kingdom in the continent. And that cleanliness also motivate the people to work harder.
And everyone finally figured out why Varadis is rich. They’re all taking notes of it while the illusion projected is being paused.
As for the Spirit King, he’s looking around at everyone here.
"There are so many people here whose mory is worth watching. After this is over, I would like to ask them all if I could watch their mory," the Spirit King said.
"You can do that. But only to those who agree to have their mory to be seen. And also for them to pick the people who will watch that mory. Because I’m sure that those who agree to get their past ro be seen, want those mory to be seen by certain people," Albert said that to the Spirit King.
"Okay. I will ask them later after we finished watching Roy’s past," the Spirit King said.
The Spirit King knows what he need to do to help us fight the cult. And the first thing he needs is everyone’s trust. To let them know that he won’t just use his magic on anyone he found to be interesting.
I guess that’s why he will return back to that mountain and only move when I open a portal for him. It’s best for him to just stay there.
After that, my clinic beca quite popular with unruly hunters. And thanks to that, the villagers started avoiding because most of those hunters were staying in my clinic. And even stealing money from .
"Roy. It’s funny to see you getting robbed like that when the you right now can even feel the slightest movent in your pocket. Is what I like to say if I didn’t see you growing older. Now it looks just like a pitiful uncle being robbed," Albert said.
"That uncle is your younger brother," I said.
"Now that you ntioned it, there’s no more need for to hold back my laughter. AHAHAHAHA!"
Albert laughed heartily knowing that his brother was being robbed. I shouldn’t have said that.
It’s not long since I learned that we’re brothers. But this is how our relationship is. Is this normal between siblings?
And it’s not just Albert who laughed. Everyone as well. Why can’t they feel pity to ?
That might be the future that we prevented from happening. But for , that is my past that already happened.
... I’m going yo cry.
Then I heard soone killed a boar with an axe in the illusion of my past. I rember it now. That’s when I decided to learn swordsmanship. Because if soone with dull axe can kill a monster, what if I used Blobby transford into a sharp weapon? Then I should be able to kill monster more smoothly.
"Roy. I don’t know if you rember it or not. But soon, you should be eting with Angela in the village," Shirley said.
"Ah, that’s right! Spirit King, can you make the in the illusion to wear proper clothes instead? I don’t want to be seen as a prostitute," Angela said.
But I want to though. Angela might be prettier and younger now. But the mature Angela has her own charm.
And then, we t in the illusion. From the look of it, it seems like Angela rembered as she left.
It’s unfortunate that she’s wearing pants now, but she’s still has her own charm. Though I prefer the present Angela.
After that eting, I beca more motivated with my training. And my daily life consisted of just training and healing people. So we skipped it.
Until a small army entered the village looking for a group of cult mbers who were escaping from them. Among the people in the army, I can see soone with so much resemblance with Sara.
"So that’s when I grow older. I look much weaker than right now."
In a group of kings here, Sara wouldn’t dare to speak loudly. So she only said it in whisper but I can still hear her.
Then it happened. I gained my Aura for the first ti and killed soone whom I just treated the day before. Killing him without rcy.
And when everyone watched using Aura for the first ti, everyone cheered. So were applauding .
This is the first ti that I feel happy for my past to be seen.
"Finally. It’s ti to strike back! Right, Roy?" Harold said.
"It should be. There’s no way that soone like Roy would stay in the village after getting a new way to fight," old man Henry said.
I just smiled hearing everyone complinting . Though I know that they were actually quite bored with watching my ordinary life. They just want sothing more interesting to watch.
"Just to let you all know, Roy is stupid. If you forgot, then I will remind you again. Soon after he learned to use Aura, he will die in the battlefield. And that’s what we will see soon," Victoria said.
The cheerful atmosphere turned gloomy with just one sentence from the Black Sli.
Damnit, Victoria! Bring back everyone’s praises. I want to be praised!
