"It’s not wasted, so it’s better this way."
"..."
The two of them patiently waited for him to finish eating, then leisurely entered the park together. Taking advantage of the setting sun still hanging in the sky, they decided to first view all the outdoor animals.
When they reached a section filled with bamboo, they instinctively stopped and began searching for the tiny, adorable creature that could lt anyone’s heart.
"Look over there!" Jin Yunzhi leaned forward, resting against the railing, and pointed toward the patch of tall trees on the left.
Two black-and-white pandas were lounging comfortably against the tree trunks, gnawing incessantly on bamboo stalks with an audible crunch.
When they heard the boy’s soft and tender voice, the pandas raised their heads in unison and glanced at the group. Their round, glimring eyes blinked twice before pulling their attention back to the bamboo, chewing without a care in the world.
"Sis, I really want to eat bamboo now." Jin Yunzhi couldn’t help swallowing as he watched the two pandas eat with such delight.
What could possibly taste so exquisite that it had them so utterly captivated?
Hearing him say that, Yu Zhi suddenly felt her own appetite being stirred. As if possessed by so mischievous impulse, the words slipped out of her mouth: "I kind of want to try it too."
Wen Renche let out a soft chuckle. "Ah-Shi, how can you be so greedy?"
He turned his head toward the girl, her cheeks radiant like the morning sun. In his phoenix eyes shimred fragnts of starlight, as if the stars themselves had descended, wrapping her in a cocoon of warmth.
Realizing what she had just said, Yu Zhi bit her lip in regret and whispered, "I know we can’t eat it."
Pandas’ biting strength was unmatched by humans. She’d rely felt a strange compulsion, like watching a mukbang, except now it was the two pandas dragging her into it.
"Silly girl." Wen Renche subtly moved a little closer to her. The playful yet tender smile on his lips was utterly captivating. "If you want to try, I’ll make you so stir-fried bamboo shoots?"
Anything the girl wanted, he was willing to fulfill to the best of his abilities. If it wasn’t bamboo, then bamboo shoots would do.
"Okay." Yu Zhi’s eyes brightened noticeably. Co to think of it, it had been a long ti since she last tasted his cooking. "Then bring it to my school for lunch tomorrow."
"You’re not allowed to leave campus during lunch?"
"Oh, I am."
"Then I’ll co pick you up instead." He wanted even the smallest monts of solitude with her. Even just sitting quietly by her side would feel fulfilling.
After leaving the bamboo grove, Jin Yunzhi dragged them along to see giraffes, black bears, tigers, and of course, the kangaroos he’d been eagerly looking forward to.
By the ti dusk settled, the natural light outdoors began to fade, leaving only the aquarium glowing in shades of blue, drawing passing visitors with its tranquil allure.
"Sis, can you take so photos for ?" Jin Yunzhi eagerly fished out his phone from his pocket, opened the cara, and handed it to her.
He stood by a massive glass window, tilting his head back slightly to admire the playful little fish swimming gleefully. A sweet, carefree smile spread across his delicate face.
Yu Zhi, ever the skilled photographer, selected a few perfect angles to capture his best monts in the fra. "Here, take a look. Do you like them?"
Back when they were by the manor’s lakeside, Jin Yunzhi had already seen firsthand how good she was with a cara. But seeing these new shots still left him amazed.
For a brief mont, he even felt that such a gentle and poetic image couldn’t possibly feature himself.
"Sis, you’re truly amazing." Jin Yunzhi gleefully flipped through the photos again and again, his shining grape-like eyes practically twinkling with stars.
After he’d had his fill of admiration, he pulled her over to the spot where he’d been standing. Adjusting the angle of the cara, he prepared to capture her beautiful image.
As he pressed the shutter button, Wen Renche silently activated his own cara. However, his lens stayed fixed solely on Yu Zhi’s face.
Her fair skin, smooth as cream; the light glimr in her almond-shaped eyes; and the radiant smile tugging at her crimson lips—all of it, absolute perfection.
No matter how captivating the scenery behind her may be, it could never compare to her every subtle gesture, to the boundless starlight in her eyes.
With his gaze lowered, Wen Renche absentmindedly brushed his fingertips across the screen displaying her photograph. His thick lashes cast gentle shadows over the tear mole at the corner of his eye, each flutter carrying a bewitching grace.
He silently murmured her na to himself. Her breathtaking, lotus-like beauty was like a spring breeze in March, steeped with endless tenderness.
