Yu Zhi was sleeping soundly when she felt soone gently pat her arm. She furrowed her brows and slowly opened her eyes, her gaze filled with confusion as she looked at the person in front of her.

"The bell is about to ring. Eat your lunch first." Lu Li took out the packed lunch he had prepared and placed it on her desk.

His movents were perfectly natural, as if he didn’t find anything unusual about this.

Yu Zhi glanced at the lunchbox and, after a brief pause, took out her phone from her bag. "How much was it?"

Her tone was as composed as always, but if one looked closely, there was an underlying feeling of distance in her deanor.

"Pay whatever you think is fair." Lu Li didn’t notice anything amiss and continued fussing with the lunch.

He tore open the chopstick wrapper and placed them neatly on the lunchbox, every gesture filled with care and consideration.

Yu Zhi’s lips moved slightly, as though she wanted to say sothing. But in the end, she didn’t know where to start.

She transferred twice the amount to him, a decision that offered her a asure of inner peace.

"Qin Huai, do you want to eat sothing?" After Lu Li left, she suddenly rembered that the person next to her hadn’t eaten either.

Qin Huai, who was a light sleeper, had already woken up when Lu Li walked over but had chosen to remain silent.

She sat up and grabbed a bag identical to Lu Li’s from under the corner of the desk on her left, her tone puzzled. "He brought one too."

"That’s good." Yu Zhi’s lips curled into a smile, and the discomfort in her heart dispersed completely. It felt as though her whole being had beco much lighter.

Seeing how deliciously she was eating, Qin Huai didn’t dwell on the small interlude. She scooted her desk slightly to the side and began eating alongside Yu Zhi.

After an exhausting day of non-stop exams, Yu Zhi felt completely drained.

It wasn’t until she left school and sat in Shi Wei’s passenger seat that she felt revived.

"Zhizhi, are you tired?" Shi Wei noticed the faint weariness in her expression and, during a red light, leaned in to kiss her cheek.

"Mm." Yu Zhi turned her head to gaze at his eyes and said seriously, "I don’t want to go to school anymore."

School really wasn’t suitable for her. Not only did it waste her ti, but there was also an endless pile of howork every day—tedious and unbearable.

"Then what does Zhizhi want to do?" Shi Wei wasn’t surprised by her words. Resting his chin on her shoulder, his voice remained gentle.

"Anything, as long as it’s not school." She had plenty of side gigs and never lacked food or money.

She didn’t need to rely on those pieces of paper called diplomas to prove her worth.

Shi Wei’s gaze lingered for two seconds. He pinched the soft, pink flesh of the young lady’s cheek and said, "Finish high school first. After that, you can decide for yourself."

"Really?"

"I’m not lying to you." If the young lady truly didn’t wish to attend university, he wouldn’t force her.

So people simply weren’t cut out for studying, and it wasn’t impossible to pursue other paths.

In the end, as long as he was around, he’d be willing to support her for a lifeti without complaint.

"Shi Wei, you’re so wonderful." Yu Zhi’s eyes glimred with brilliance, as radiant and enchanting as stars in the night sky—so captivating it was hard to look away.

At her words, Shi Wei gazed into those eyes and chuckled deeply. His laughter ca from the depths of his throat, carrying an indescribable tenderness.

He gently kissed her cheek, his hand stroking her soft, fine hair. "I’m only good to you."

The intensity in his gaze made Yu Zhi’s eyelashes flutter uncontrollably.

She turned her head and pointed outside at the countdown hanging at the intersection. "The light’s about to turn green."

Shi Wei raised his brows slightly, reluctantly withdrawing the large hand that had been resting on her waist. Returning to the driver’s seat, he adjusted the slightly wrinkled cuffs of his shirt and started the car, moving at a leisurely pace.

Dinner was set at the Galaxy Restaurant. Shi Wei had arranged everything the day before after learning that the young lady’s friend would be dining with them.

The two of them sat in a private room, chatting and nibbling on snacks while waiting for Ruan Yuan to arrive.

About ten minutes later, the door to the room was gently pushed open from outside.

Ruan Yuan entered wearing a light purple dress, a white blazer draped over her arm. Her long, curly hair rested neatly on her shoulders, her lip color just right—not overly bright red—exuding a confident, mature charm.

"Little Zhi." Ruan Yuan walked briskly over, warmly embracing the young woman seated on the chair.

If not for the lipstick she had applied today, she might have given her a kiss as well.

Yu Zhi hugged her back briefly and smiled as she spoke. "Why did you co back all of a sudden?"

She’d thought Ruan Yuan would stay abroad for a while longer but hadn’t expected her to return so soon.

"Being away for too long becos rather boring." Ruan Yuan sat down on her right, a flicker of emotion crossing her eyes. "Besides, it’s ti to co back."

Yu Zhi responded softly and, amid their casual chat, didn’t forget to introduce the two of them.

"Mr. Shi, young and accomplished. I assu there are plenty of won around you?" Ruan Yuan’s sharp gaze fell on him, though her lips still held a smile.

It wasn’t surprising she brought up such a pointed question right away. The man before her truly seed opaque, and she was worried Little Zhi might end up hurt.

"None." Shi Wei’s expression didn’t change, and for the first ti, he wasn’t angry about being scrutinized. "Other than Zhizhi, there won’t be anyone else."

Seeing that he didn’t seem to be lying, Ruan Yuan raised her brows slightly, her deanor softening significantly.

Turning her gaze to Yu Zhi, she said, "Little Zhi is very pure. I hope you won’t disappoint her."

"Miss Ruan, you must be joking." Shi Wei lowered his gaze to their interlocked fingers and spoke with tenderness in his eyes. "She will eventually beco my Mrs. Shi."

Caught off guard by this unexpectedly heartfelt promise, Yu Zhi’s ears turned a shade of crimson. She glanced sidelong at the man, her lips slightly pursed.

Noticing her gaze, Shi Wei teasingly traced circles on her palm, his other hand reaching behind her to wrap gently around her slender waist.

Ruan Yuan observed their interaction, half-annoyed at the overwhelming flood of affection but also feeling sowhat reassured.

She swiped at the tablet beside her, redirecting her attention to the array of dishes on the screen. At least this way, she wouldn’t choke on the couple’s public display of affection.

Determined to make Shi Wei splurge tonight, Ruan Yuan focused exclusively on the most expensive nu items, paying no mind to taste. Only when she felt she couldn’t eat more did she stop.

"Where are you planning to stay tonight?" Yu Zhi asked while picking up a small piece of corn from the soup bowl, bowing her head seriously as she nibbled on it.

"I rented an apartnt nearby. The environnt is quite nice."

Ruan Yuan had always lived a nomadic lifestyle. Despite saving so money over the years, she had never spent it on real estate, as if she had grown accustod to this way of living.

"That ans we can et often from now on." Yu Zhi chewed on the corn, a faint smile curving her lips.
