[Chapter 129: The wedding]

...

Walking down the marriage hall, walked with graceful steps. Incus couldn’t help but notice that the nobles and royalties that were at the announcent of the wedding weren’t here but instead representatives with this emblem on their chest.

Steinen watched, not daring to make a sound for if anyone were to hear anything they would suspect everything.

Upon approaching the stand, Incus stood in front of the crowned prince of Jansoara who was giving a barely hidden malicious smile.

"Kanium Everlight and Incus Wang, have you co here to enter into Marriage without coercion, freely and wholeheartedly?" The Saint asked, giving Incus a sad expression.

"I have." They both answered, Incus wore a mask with a gentle smile.

"Are you prepared, as you follow the path of marriage, to love and honor each other for as long as you both shall live?"

"I am."

"...Since it is your intention to enter the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before the lord and his Church."

"I, Kanium Everlight, take you, Incus Wang, to be my wife..!"

Pulling out his [Royal serpent tooth dagger] from under his sleeve, Kanium thrust forward.

Barely dodging out of the way because of the veil over her head, Incus was slit on the cheek.

"You’re highness what are you doing!" The saint stepped back.

"How dare you sully this wedding with your pettiness, this wedding was ant for you!" The king rose from his fancy chair.

"What do you ever an father, this is all your fault... how dare you bestow the title of hero such a pathetic woman! It should’ve been soone else, soone better!"

Falling do the ground, Incus’ mind began to grow hazy. Touching the cut on her cheek, she looked at it.

’Poison.’

Slicking his hair back with poison, Kanium stared down at Incus.

"Soone like ."

Summoning the [Lightning Hero’s Sword], Incus swung upwards.

Jumping out of the way, Kanium laughed.

"Hahaha, you can’t think straight can’t you? This poison is sothing that I’ve been working on since I was a child. Not even experience apothecaries are cautious of my work... seeing the effectiveness, I can’t help but wonder. You’ve never fought against poison have you."

As the guards and Steinen were about to step forward, Incus extended her hand, telling them to stop.

Not only that but the nobles who was always around Kanium had pulled out their own weapons with poison ridden on all over them.

Without a weapon in hand, Steinen resorted to using a pole which held the flag of Jansoara.

Publishing the Chapter, the author then began to write the next.

"Take out your weapons, get ready for combat." I unsheathed the fire hero’s sword.

"Uhm, what about ..?" Vertere asked.

Looking at the other two who had already pulled out their weapon, I looked back at our mage.

"Scales, form into gauntlets on Vertere’s hands."

Shortening the length of the side ca, the scales changed into an intricate yet nacing look gauntlets.

"Are you okay with battling? It’s not the sa as casting spells from a range."

"Who do you think I am? Don’t worry, if you can do it, then I can too." Vertere then ran, looking for an enemy.

"Alright then, let’s get this thing going."

Steinen swung a tall pole around like it was a toy, pushing back Kanium’s lackeys but so of them had pushed through, battling against the guards who fought cautiously as to not kill them. And because they didn’t wear any armor, only suits, a single nick from the poison would prove fatal.

What a bunch of useless bastards.

Looking at their stats, they were around the sa as mine.

"Lieur cover ."

Hopping, I then lunged towards a noble lackey, intercepting a killing blow that was about to land on a guard.

"T-thank you!"

Gritting my teeth, I commanded the guard:

"Go and assist the others!"

Nodding, the guard ran away.

"Ha, you who do you think you are—?"

Interrupting the lackey, I slashed towards his neck.

Deflecting my attack, he countered with his own.

Jumping back, I focused my eyes and slashed horizontally.

I don’t need to land a killing blow, he just needs to bleed to death.

Raising his sword, the lackey swung vertically.

"Don’t act so cocky, use both of your arms to swing your sword!"

Raising my head, I smiled.

Training one ard swordsmanship with a sword that requires two hand was definitely difficult but the countless hours I spend sparring against Alleus had helped

gain practically in how I wield the sword.

Scrapping his sword to the side, I stepped forward and did a side kick, pulling my foot back in ti before the lackey could nick my leg.

Jumping forward, the lackey recklessly lunged forward.

Turning my body to face sideways, an arrow then ca flying, penetrating his neck.

"Glarghh!" Falling to his knees, the lackey held up his hand.

"Help... ..."

Stomping down on his face, I shook my head.

"Help who?"

As I watched the life diminish from his eyes, A guard ca stomping towards .

"What did you just do! You were suppose to detain them not kill them!"

Slamming my forehead on theirs, my eyes glared seriously.

"Would you rather the representatives of the other kingdoms die then? What do you think will happen once they found out about their death... well, tell !"

Looking away, the guard answered:

"...It could lead to a war."

"Take his weapon, put it sowhere safe."

Nodding the guard did as I said.

Looking at Vertere, he was sohow managing to beat up a lackey who was clearly much weaker than him.

"Bwahaha! Take that you rotten imbecile, how does it feel to be on the opposed end of a beating for once!"

Turning my head towards Alleus, she was battling against a few noble lackeys all at once, using the eye of the Truthseeker to skillfully deflect and counterattack.

"Captain, are you okay?" Lieur asked.

Scoffing, I replied:

"Of course."

The sound of loud crashing as Steinen’s ravaging echoed in the back.
