Chapter 27: 124

"Haaa..." I sighed.

Looking at the other accessories, I rummaged through them just in case there was sothing of value, but aside from the bracelet, the best stuff only granted a small enhancent to stats.

Grabbing the items that I did, I allocated them to the others depending on their abilities. A flower hairpin for Alleus and silver earrings for Lieur, a 0.5 boost to the physical stat. As for Vertere, I gave him the erald necklace.

"That looks beautiful on you." Alleus touched the earrings on Lieur.

"Thanks. Likewise, the hairpin suits you very well." Alleus had tied back her pink-interiored blonde hair, the hairpin stabbed through her hair bun.

Putting on the necklace, Vertere rubbed his stomach.

"My mana pool has increased. Just what kind of necklace is this?"

"I didn’t give you those just because I thought they would look good on you guys—"

"You didn’t?" Alleus interrupted.

"Yes, these accessories grant an increase in strength." I didn’t feel like going in-depth about what they actually did, so a summary would suffice.

I did have a question, though. Why weren’t Incus or Steinen returning to the academy?

During our daily training, a servant knocked on Incus’ door.

"...Yes?"

"The party is tomorrow. Make sure to dress yourself accordingly."

"...Alright."

With a bow, the servant left.

Waving a finger for everyone to huddle up, I crossed my arms.

"We have noble clothes for this event, but I want you all to make sure to stay at least twenty ters away from Incus, Steinen, and especially Kanium. Sothing might go down, so we shouldn’t stray too far from each other. Take this ti to take any loot you find... otherwise, indulge yourselves."

"Yes, Captain." Lieur gave a nod.

"I wonder if they have cake." Alleus rubbed her stomach.

"I just hope that the nobles don’t recognize ." Vertere gave a solemn look.

Putting a few potions in my pouch’s vial holders, the ratio being six mana potions and four recovery potions.

Ripping out the remaining pages of the book on war tactics, I folded them and put them into my pouch.

It was now night. Incus was dressed beautifully, while Steinen looked elegant yet intimidating... it must have been his helt.

Walking through the halls and heading to another building within the palace, I couldn’t help but notice there were many wagons led by magnificent-looking horses.

Looking up at the sky at the white window screen that made a void in the darkness.

Chapter 124: The Royal Banquet of Celebration

...

’Soone is definitely going to poison . I better make sure not to drink anything... or eat anything. I don’t have any poison resistance. ’ Incus maneuvered through the pathway, taking the most optimal route so that she wouldn’t have to converse with anyone.

But she didn’t need to, because Steinen alone was enough to strike fear into the noble and royal guests’ hearts.

Walking in front of Incus, Steinen opened the door.

"After you." His voice crept out of his helt.

Entering through the door, Incus closed her eyes. Using [Mana Sense], she began searching for Kanium and any sketchy figures.

Soon, she felt Kanium as well as other figures that had hidden weapons, but they were just guards for the guests. Since weapons weren’t allowed, no one could openly carry a weapon.

’Even if I have to engage in combat, I still have the [Dragon Scales Armor].’

As we followed Incus, she stopped for a brief mont by the doorway before continuing to walk.

Inside, there were many high-class blooded people.

Even though they were nobles and royals, they still had bland faces, and their stats were impressive, but they didn’t have more than one or two skills.

Pushing through the crowd, we made sure that Incus was always within view.

Grabbing a glass of wine, I took a sip and stuffed a few desserts into my mouth. Alleus, on the other hand, was stuffing her face.

Giving

a thumbs up, a hair strand stood on end and wiggled happily.

I couldn’t criticize her. These snacks were indeed tasty.

However, Vertere was tense and stiff.

"Loosen up. If you’re that worried about being noticed, then you should disguise yourself or sothing."

Grabbing his wand, he pointed it at his face.

"A-Alterius." His face changed into a gloomy-looking one.

"You should have just done that from the start." I grabbed a piece of pie.

"S-sorry, I was too nervous to think."

Putting the piece of pie in his mouth, I rubbed his head.

"Murgh—"

Flicking my fingers, I indicated for us to move closer.

Walking to the front of the banquet, the king was giving a speech:

"Welco to this banquet. We, the kingdom of Jansoara, are happy to announce the marriage between the crown prince, Kanium Everlight, and Incus Wang! In celebration, the wedding shall be held soon. We will send a ssenger ahead of ti...!"

However, the crowd seed unhappy about the whole thing.

"Making the hero marry the crown prince? Just how shaless can they be?"

"Jansoara has always been like this. They even summoned a hero without consulting the other kingdoms, and the king had the absurdity to ask for the other hero’s swords.

"I hope that they eat their own tails."

Making his way through, Kanium stood in front of Incus.

"If it isn’t my fiancée—"

Steinen’s helt began to clatter, and his veins were popping out. The glass cup in his hand was beginning to crack.

"Steinen, step away." Incus said coldly.

Listening to her command, Steinen did as she said.

Grabbing a glass of wine, Kanium extended it to Incus.

"Will you accept this drink of mine?" Kanium slightly grinned.

Squinting, Incus took the glass and swirled it.

"You should offer this to

at our wedding instead."

She walked up to the king, who was sitting on a slightly elevated chair.

Looming over him, Incus offered the wine.

"Soon-to-be father, will you accept this drink of mine?" said Incus.
