"I don’t know." The man smiled and shook his head.

Mu Yiliang: "..."

"I’m just speculating." Yan Sijue said leisurely, "He’s eager to divorce his current wife, maybe to protect her and Gu Qingqian, shifting the risk onto the mother and child."

Mu Yiliang was stunned.

"Is that so?" she murmured.

"From what I know about him, it’s highly likely." He chuckled, "You can tell Gu Qingqian, but... it’s best to have him cooperate with Gu Benhong, otherwise, this play won’t go on."

Mu Yiliang stared at him in a daze.

She suddenly thought, was their separation back then for a similar reason?

Did he do it to protect her?

She rembered Yan Sijue once said that he had a lot of enemies before.

He said he realized that locking himself and his loved ones in a thick fortress wasn’t what safety ant.

Xin said there was a ti when he hardly stepped out of the house.

Mu Yiliang vaguely felt she was close to uncovering the truth.

If he did it to protect her, then... could she ignore the reason they had to part back then?

Now that he’s back, after a year, he’s co looking for her again. Does it an the problem that once hindered them no longer exists?

At this thought, her heart pounded in her chest!

"Yiliang?" He seed to sense her oddness, his tone slightly deepened.

Mu Yiliang snapped back to reality.

She looked at him and smiled brightly, "It’s nothing, I just figured sothing out."

"Hmm?"

"You don’t need to know." Her tone was a bit mysterious.

Yan Sijue’s gaze tightened, but seeing her beaming smile, he couldn’t help but smile too and gave up asking further.

It seed like sothing good.

...

That night, as Mu Yiliang was getting ready to rest, soone innocently claid he’d lost the key to the neighboring room.

This ti, Mu Yiliang wasn’t fooled. She let out a cold laugh: "I refuse to believe you have nowhere else to stay in S City! If you’re out of money, I’ll pay for a hotel for you!"

"But if I stay elsewhere, I won’t have ti to prepare breakfast for you in the morning." His tone was sincere.

"No need, I can make breakfast!" Mu Yiliang, recalling last night, felt both ashad and indignant, so she was determined not to let this man stay at her place tonight.

Yan Sijue thought for a second, then suddenly raised his eyebrows and chuckled: "Are you afraid... you won’t be able to resist doing sothing to ? It’s okay, I don’t mind."

"I mind!" Mu Yiliang snapped, only to see the man across from her smirking ambiguously, and she realized she might have accidentally admitted sothing.

"I’m afraid you’ll do sothing to !" She was so angry she could have kicked him.

"But last night, you clearly ca out to find and threw yourself at ..."

"I only wanted to bring you a blanket!" Enraged, Mu Yiliang’s eyes flared with anger as she lunged forward to bite his arm fiercely!

Infuriating! If only biting him could solve it!

Yan Sijue seemingly felt nothing, instead, his smile softened even more: "Are you marking your claim on ? Hmm... don’t worry, I was yours from the start."

"Who would want that!" Defeated by his shalessness, Mu Yiliang flung his arm away furiously, her chest heaving in anger.

A small bite mark remained on Yan Sijue’s arm.

His eyes darkened, and he raised his arm to kiss that spot.

Ahhh!

With her face flushed, Mu Yiliang dashed back into her bedroom!
