Mu Yiliang regained her composure, her expression sowhat apologetic.
"I’m sorry, I’ll definitely be careful. Thank you!" She sincerely expressed her gratitude.
The doctor’s face finally looked a little better.
"Rest assured, I will do my utmost to help you. If you recover well now, you’ll suffer less in the future."
"I understand."
The doctor gave her an IV and then left.
Mu Yiliang leaned against the headboard, looking out the window, feeling sowhat heavy-hearted.
It wasn’t the severe consequences the doctor ntioned that bothered her—if it would pain on rainy days, then she’d live in a sunny place. Not being able to have more children wasn’t a big deal; after all, she already had Xiaoze. Perhaps she was inherently indifferent; if such a thing happened to others, even if not heartbroken, they’d be sad for a long ti, but she didn’t care much.
What troubled her was Jason’s departure.
She was very aware of how much Jason cared for her. At this mont, she was still lying in a hospital bed. If it were any other situation, Jason would never leave her, but now he had no choice but to abandon her.
The only person who could make him do this was Qiao Yebai. Jason owed him a favor for saving her, so he couldn’t ignore Qiao Yebai’s request.
Because of her, they had once again fallen into this quagmire...
Qiao Yebai... is this person really trustworthy?
"What are you thinking about?"
Speak of the devil and he appears, Mu Yiliang turned her head and saw Qiao Yebai walking in with a smile, sitting on her bedside without the slightest sense of intrusion.
Mu Yiliang did not respond to his words.
"The doctor just reported your condition to ." Qiao Yebai didn’t seem to mind her coldness at all and smiled lightly, "I initially wanted to co over to comfort you, but now it seems you don’t need it."
Mu Yiliang moved her lips, reluctantly, but still spoke, "Thank you."
"You’re welco." The man smiled leisurely, "Speaking of which, I still gained. I was worried about whether Jason could complete the task alone, but unexpectedly, two more joined."
Mu Yiliang pursed her lips in annoyance.
At that ti, before Jason found her, he had sent Xiao Qi and Robert to contact Yan Sijue or Xiaoze, but they failed. When Jason found her, the two of them also ca over. Confirming she was not in danger and that Xiaoze was not in the car at the ti, they too were relieved.
When they learned Jason had to leave to handle sothing, they, of course, were not at ease letting him go alone and insisted on following him.
But whom could she bla? Qiao Yebai was no saint. To save her, he had expended so much financial and material resources, even at the cost of exposing his forces lying in wait in City A, and it wasn’t for charity.
"You don’t need to worry either." The man seed to know what she was thinking and laughed softly, "I quite admire Jason and his partners; I won’t let them be in danger."
"Mr. Qiao..." Mu Yiliang hesitated for a mont, then spoke, "Jason is not from your circle. The favor you did for should be repaid by ."
He smirked, "Oh?"
"I hope you spare Jason." Mu Yiliang looked at him, "Everything you lost to save , I will find a way to compensate you."
"You’re mistaken, Lady Mu." He touched his nose, "I never forced him to do anything. We have a mutually beneficial partnership; you seem to have misunderstood sothing."
