"What have you been doing at ho these past few days?" Yan Sijue asked casually.
"I’ve been writing a new story..." She smiled up at him, "Once it’s finished, I’ll submit it to a film company."
"Why go through all that trouble." Yan Sijue smiled faintly, "I’ll invest in it for you directly."
"No way." Chen Yayan pouted unhappily, "I hope the other party buys the rights because the story is good enough. I don’t want to waste your money."
"Didn’t your last story do pretty well at the box office? I believe in your ability." Yan Sijue raised an eyebrow.
"That’s why I don’t want to disappoint you." She said coquettishly, her face full of admiration and adoration.
Yan Sijue glanced at her, noncommittal.
This woman had always been well-behaved and sensible. Although she essentially wanted to make use of his power, she knew her limits. Occasionally, she would have so small sches, but she would never cross his bottom line, so he was willing to keep her around and would sotis co to see her.
These years, his various affairs have been flying all over the place, which was actually intentional on his part. With his current status and position, if he were too cautious with won, it might raise the Old Man’s suspicions. The more he indulged, the happier that old man probably was. Thinking of this, a flash of ruthlessness crossed his eyes.
Chen Yayan noticed him in silent contemplation and felt a little uneasy. She blinked, tears shimring in her eyes, showing a worried and fearful expression, "I just heard you ran into a kidnapping a couple of days ago, I was worried sick, thank goodness you’re okay."
Yan Sijue looked down at this woman—her reddened eyes didn’t seem fake.
His mood suddenly beca a bit complex. To avoid trouble, he always only interacted with won with clear objectives, those who ca for money, power, or status were easy to dismiss, but with won who had feelings for him, he would rather keep his distance because such won might do irrational things. He always thought Chen Yayan was also such a woman, but at this mont, her sincere concern, whether exaggerated or not, was very gratifying to him.
There probably weren’t many in this world who genuinely cared whether he lived or died, not knowing how many people were hoping for his demise or cursing him behind his back. His safe return this ti might have disappointed many.
Chen Yayan noticed the relaxation in his expression, her eyes shifted, and she cautiously hugged him, her voice soft and gentle, "Si Jue..."
The implication of it was self-explanatory.
But Yan Sijue remained lost in his thoughts, unable to control the na that surfaced.
Mu Yiliang.
In fact, what she did was in line with his expectations of won, wasn’t it? Not involved in each other’s lives, ready to withdraw at any ti. Moreover, she not only asked nothing of him but avoided him like the plague.
Yet he wanted to know if she ever had feelings for him, even for a fleeting mont.
When Mu Yiliang left him, he frantically searched for her but found nothing. Over the years, his endless news might even harbor a trace of defiance and demonstration, but perhaps she never cared at all. Thinking back now, it seed laughable even to himself.
The woman in his arms was obedient and soft, letting him take whatever he wanted, so what exactly was he holding on to? Especially since his persistence was truly aningless.
At this thought, he rcilessly drew her into his arms. Chen Yayan was ecstatic, a blush coloring her cheeks, and she reached up to hook her arms around his neck.
"Jue, take ..." she whispered breathlessly in his ear.
The woman in his arms almost lted into a puddle, her sweet voice falling into his ear, yet it made Yan Sijue frown.
A pair of innocent yet sly eyes almost imdiately popped into his mind, making him instantly lose all enthusiasm for the living, breathing beauty before him.
Dammit!
Yan Sijue frowned and suddenly pushed the woman in his arms away forcefully!
