Brittany smiled and said, "Our ancestors back then were much more formidable."

Slightly turning around, the accessories on her body made a crisp sound as they collided, "The entire arena is equipped with four caras. The footage will be broadcast live in squares across the city, to avoid crowding here or any accidents."

"That’s also good, and it allows more people to watch." Wu Heng nodded.

The caras and display screens were gifts from him to Brittany, and this way of broadcasting is much more convenient than watching in person.

Wu Heng continued to ask, "What was the first trial again, as you ntioned yesterday?"

Brittany’s lips curved slightly as she said, "This year’s first challenge is the ’Blind Sword Trial.’

"Sounds like it’s different every year?" Wu Heng asked curiously.

"Of course, it’s different. If it were the sa every year, practicing specifically for it in advance would diminish its aning." Brittany nodded slightly, a strand of golden hair slipping from her forehead, gently lifted and brushed back by the maid.

Brittany continued, "Participants need to walk blindfolded, carrying a sword, from one end of a three-ter-high single-log bridge to the other, with various obstacles along the way. They pass the first stage as long as they make it across. It’s actually quite easy."

Wu Heng raised an eyebrow, understanding the nature of the trial.

A height of three ters is nothing to professionals, but walking a straight line blindfolded, with various obstacles interfering, appeared sowhat challenging.

This not only tests one’s perception but also one’s character.

"The participants this ti are children aged ten to fifteen, above Level 8, totaling over three hundred." Brittany’s voice lowered a bit, "Initially, there should have been more..."

Taking a deep breath, she continued, "Last year’s civil war caused many families to lose trust in the royal family. Additionally, so families don’t acknowledge my succession, so the number has decreased compared to previous years."

"Things will get better. You’ll beco the greatest king in the kingdom’s history." Wu Heng said with a smile.

"I think so too." Brittany smiled.

Just by cultivating children into heroes, he has already surpassed all previous kings.

Yeko Kingdom never had the experience of cultivating heroes. Whether he becos a hero himself or genuinely cultivates heroes for the kingdom, both are things previous kings never achieved.

Soon, Brittany put on her crown, and Wu Heng also donned his divine robe.

"It’s ti to set off." Brittany clasped Wu Heng’s hand, and they walked out together.

Along the way, the guards and attendants saluted continuously.

The two, in full regalia, boarded the carriage and headed to the training ground.

...

"Make way! Hey, you with the bench up front!"

A tall, slim man wove through the crowd like an eel, the folding stool under his arm occasionally bumping into others’ waists.

Following him was a panting, chubby companion, also carrying a standard wooden stool in his arms.

"Does the announcent say this black slate can really display images?" The chubby man tiptoed, peering at the huge screen hung up front, the morning light casting a blue hue over the faces of the front-row spectators.

The slim man set the stool down with a thud, "Since the Queen ascended the throne, many new things have erged. It’s said they’re learned from Gold and Silver Island, and since the Week of Courage is significant in the Yek Kingdom, they wouldn’t use sothing ineffective here."

"I feel the Queen is too eager; this period has been enough of a hassle for the kingdom, with new policies announced every few days. I can’t even rember what was announced before," continued the chubby companion.

"It is a bit too rushed."

The two sat down in place as they spoke.

Their spot was decent, as moving further up was impossible due to the crowd.

Behind them, more people gathered, making the square look like a can of sardines.

Noble viewing area.

"I heard that sickly Rothschild kid is participating too."

A silk-gloved hand covered a mouth corner, an agate ring sparkling in the sunlight as a few nobly dressed figures stood under a special canopy, served iced drinks by maids.

The elder nearby, leaning on a snake head staff, chuckled, "Since it’s the Queen’s coronation year, it’s known the rewards for the winners are greater. Many are sending their kids to try their luck."

The age for the Week of Courage is set between 10 to 15 years.

Many would wait until they’re 15 to compete in the Vessel of Courage, as both their level and physical condition would offer advantages.

This year, however, rumors suggested greater support, so many families sent people early to try their luck and get familiar with the environnt.

"But I’ve heard so things." Soone leaned in to speak.

The elder with the snake head staff lowered his voice, "Are you talking about The Holy Court?"

"Yes! Let’s see how long Brittany can hold her position here..."

...

At the edge of the stands.

"Mr. Edwin, are you also interested in these children’s competitions?" A young bard leaned in, whispering.

The elder chuckled, pointing to the distant screen, "I’m here to watch the match and also to see this."

"Does this...thing really show the arena?" soone asked.

"It’s technology from Gold and Silver Island. It’s quite common over there. The Queen must have borrowed it from there." The elder replied.

Everyone nodded in recognition, revealing expressions of understanding.

As they conversed, a shout ca from behind, "The list is out, anyone want to place a bet?"

"Get rich overnight, if you miss this chance, you’ll have to wait until next year..."

The shout sparked a sudden buzz among those around, quickly gathering around to check who might have a chance to win.

...

East Training Ground.

The entire viewing platform has been rearranged.

The kingdom officials sat from the bottom up; the first and second levels were for officials within the kingdom, and the third level was for key mbers of the Imperial Council and so who survived royal family conflicts.

The fourth level was Brittany’s place.

Seated on a lavish throne, clad in royal robes, and crowned.

Beside her stood a personal maid, behind her two tall skeleton attendants draped in cloaks.

Ministers who experienced the Royal Palace’s forced abdication of the Crown Prince knew the terrifying strength of these two giant skeletons, even 18 or 19-level professionals weren’t their opponents.

In the training ground’s open space below.

The formation of three hundred children resembled a field of swaying wheat in the sunlight.

Uniformly dressed in practice leather armor, holding wooden, unsharpened weapons, they waited curiously and anxiously for the comncent.

It was at this mont, footsteps were heard behind the Queen.

The ssage was relayed, and after listening, the young maid leaned into Brittany’s ear, whispering, "Your Majesty, it’s almost ti."

Brittany nodded, and the young maid turned to instruct, "The ti has co, let the skeletons start the caras."

The order swiftly passed down, and cloaked skeletons around the venue began adjusting the caras. Simultaneously, the screens in various squares displayed the entire scene.

At the sa ti, all the square screens lit up.

East District Square.

The screen suddenly showing images caused the previously noisy crowd to fall silent; soone pointed, "There, there is my granddaughter..."

The aristocratic viewing gallery erupted with a distinctly different commotion.

"Look quickly at the council seats..."

As the cara panned over the dignitaries, noble spectators on the periphery saw so special figures in the seats.

Then, the cara shifted again, and Brittany appeared on the screen entirely.

She stood atop a high platform, the sun casting its light on the golden crown, her gaze warm and resolute.

"Young warriors, today is not a matter of victory or defeat, but a testant to growth."

"The swords in your hands may not yet be heavy enough, but your hearts—brave, sincere, fearless—are the sharpest weapons."

"May you temper your will in battle, gain friendship in duels, to beco better versions of yourselves, and for the kingdom’s future!"

Then, without directly announcing the start, she slightly lifted her hand, pointing to the side building.

The cara shifted once more.

As everyone pondered why the Queen hadn’t started things despite concluding her speech, the cara revealed a figure.

Dressed in a grand robe, with black hair and black eyes.

Appearing thus in everyone’s view.

In an instant, the entire kingdom boiled over.

"Wu Heng..., the Divine Spirit worshipped by the Spirit Awakening Sect."
