The Arican girl, seeing Ling Momo keep silent, just smiled and then turned to walk away.
Ling Momo, utterly confused, watched the girl’s retreating figure before turning her head to ask Li Qingshen, "What did she say?"
Li Qingshen, obviously in a good mood, took her by the hand and started walking outside, saying to Ling Momo as they went, "She said you were pretty."
Ling Momo frowned skeptically, she complinted my looks? That didn’t seem right... The girl’s gaze had carried a particularly hostile air.
Once they stepped out of the hotel, Li Qingshen took Ling Momo for a stroll along the streets of New York.
After a few steps, Ling Momo’s curiosity got the better of her, and she asked, "Teacher, what did you say to that girl just now?"
Li Qingshen, walking slightly ahead, stiffened for a mont, then stopped in his tracks, turned his head, and, against the backdrop of Chinatown with people of various skin tones crisscrossing, presenting an especially international scene, he stood there relaxed, with composure in his eyes and said, "Really want to know?"
Ling Momo nodded her head, her manner innocently curious and cute.
Li Qingshen, seeing her excited and curious deanor, simply raised his hand and beckoned to her.
Ling Momo, thinking that Li Qingshen was about to tell her what he had said, quickly took a few steps to his side, looked up at him expectantly, and asked, "What is it?"
"Do you really want to know?"
Ling Momo nodded emphatically, responding earnestly.
Li Qingshen, looking at her like this, suddenly felt the urge to tease her. He deliberately leaned in slightly, and Ling Momo, seeing him lean down, tiptoed and leaned in her ear closer. Li Qingshen, looking at the close, tender earlobe, his gaze darkened slightly, and after a long pause, he whispered softly, "Not telling you."
Only then did Ling Momo realize that Li Qingshen had tricked her. She imdiately pouted, turned her head in annoyance, and just as she did, she saw Li Qingshen’s exuberant, smiling expression. She quickly raised her hand and swung at Li Qingshen.
Li Qingshen swiftly dodged, and Ling Momo went after him.
The two of them chased and dodged this way until, at last, Ling Momo, out of breath, stood panting on the sidewalk, unable to go any further. Li Qingshen then stepped back to her side and said with a low chuckle, "Alright, let’s go."
Ling Momo stubbornly stood her ground, refusing to move, her mouth puckered up high, looking extrely cute.
For so unknown reason, Li Qingshen suddenly lifted his hand, his movent so natural as if he had done it a million tis before, indulgently ssing up her hair.
Ling Momo’s sulky expression instantly turned to one of astonishnt. She slowly lifted her head to et Li Qingshen’s gaze.
Their eyes locked together like this, and then the scene montarily froze.
The depths of Li Qingshen’s eyes were imasurable, sparkling with a shifting light as he stared intently at Ling Momo, causing her face to flush uncontrollably, and her heartbeat to quicken. She could even feel the strange warmth of the man’s hand tousling her hair.
After a long mont, Ling Momo gently moved her head, breaking the stiffness, startling Li Qingshen. He blinked, slowly withdrew his hand, but still fixed on Ling Momo’s eyes, his voice gentle like that used to coax a child, "Co with to one place, and I’ll tell you when we co back."
