Ling Momo followed the director’s instructions, and with a graceful posture, she harnessed the montum of the plank to leap into a parabolic arc. Then she smiled and opened her eyes. The emptiness of the space beneath her turned Momo’s brain into an instant blank slate, fear creeping from the depths of her heart, reminiscent of that day long ago...

At that ti, she was a sophomore in college and had already beco Lu Niange’s girlfriend.

At that ti, her relationship with Jian Chenxi was so good that it was the envy of everyone. The two girls, both young and beautiful, would stick together wherever they went.

At that ti, Lu Niange hadn’t yet climbed to the position of a director at ES Music Entertainnt Company. He was incredibly busy with work, getting up early and staying up late, and for him to see Ling Momo once a week was considered a stroke of luck. Most of their communication relied on phone calls, their mutual yearning sustained through the distance.

At that ti, Jian Chenxi was already dressing very seductively. On Friday and Saturday nights, she loved to linger in various bars, sitting on a raised platform singing. Ling Momo would jokingly call her the "Bar Queen."

The incident took place in the "Night Color" bar.

"Night Color" was a bar frequently visited by aristocrats, its decorations were exceptionally lavish, and even the stage was suspended in mid-air, a good seven or eight ters high.

Jian Chenxi sat there singing; her stage presence wasn’t bad at all, and her voice was good, too. She sang Wang Fei’s "Butterfly," her voice soft and llifluous, adding a certain beauty to the bar.

Ling Momo sat in a corner, listening as the people around tirelessly praised Jian Chenxi. Momo felt a particular pride because Jian Chenxi was her dear friend.

However, as the night progressed, a lodramatic event unfolded. That evening, Jian Chenxi took turns singing with another girl, but for so reason, a friction erupted between them, and they ended up quarreling on stage.

At that point, everyone in the bar was looking up, watching the spectacle. With the microphone left unattended, the girl pointed at Jian Chenxi and sardonically said, "Dressed up like that and you still have the sha to sing at Night Color. Not a single branded item on you, afraid no one would know how cheap you are!"

Although Ling Momo wasn’t exactly a champion of justice, Jian Chenxi was her close friend. Hearing those words naturally angered her. If she herself wouldn’t bully her own friend, how could she let others do so?

So without a second word, Ling Momo charged towards the stage.

At the ti she wasn’t as tall as Jian Chenxi, but she managed to pull Jian Chenxi behind her, lifted her chin defiantly, and looked at the girl with arrogance, "You dare to go out looking like that? Talking about being cheap, who could surpass you? Even if the whole world went through a financial crisis, you wouldn’t beco valuable!"

Ling Momo’s retort was flawless, her tone indifferent yet clear, heard throughout the bar through the microphone, provoking peals of laughter from everyone. They began to clap and cheer for Momo!

The girl, accustod to the nightlife scene, was now a laughingstock with the crowd joining in the jeering. She wasn’t going to let it go easily and, in a fit of rage, swung a hand at Ling Momo.

Jian Chenxi, standing behind her, saw everything clearly and reached out to block the girl’s hand.

Alone, the girl was no match for both of them, so in a burst of fury, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
