"No," Number Zero dared not kick randomly, fearing that she might accidentally step on Ziyu. Her movent indeed startled Number Zero.
"No, please accept my kneeling. I kneel not for my own life, but for the countless citizens of Babylon, especially those who are not free," Ziyu spoke, already having removed her veil, revealing a cross scar still visible on her face, but her lips, more delicate than flower petals, were already pressed against the dusty boots of Number Zero.
As her lips touched, a prompt appeared on Number Zero’s mission manual: "Received the blessing of Goddess Ziyu, favorability 10."
Number Zero’s foot, which was about to move away, stopped. Given the previous NPC Maggie’s Loli Reconnaissance Skill, it’s likely that Ziyu’s favorability could also bring special effects.
"Are you a Goddess?" Little Eight and Number Zero both responded. If Ziyu was the goddess of Ancient Babylon Temple, then who was the goddess they encountered a few days earlier at Babylon Temple? How could a temple goddess be disfigured and discarded outside, wearing purple clothes mistaken for those of a Holy Prostitute?
"I am the temple priestess of Babylon Temple..." Ziyu repeated the incidents that had transpired. The temple that stood in the center of Babylon City had changed its master unknowingly.
"So, what do you want to do for you?" Number Zero thought, given her originally exalted status, being betrayed by her own twin sister, she must be resentful.
"I only ask that you take to the inner city of Babylon, to et King Hammurabi. As long as I et King Hammurabi, Ziyu is willing to follow the master for a lifeti," Ziyu spoke softly and gently, but her expression was incredibly solemn.
A goddess who swore to follow the Main God, defecting from the Main God, following an ordinary foreigner, abandoning her faith, demanded greater courage and action.
Ziyu initially planned to bribe the guards of Babylon Inner City with money. But the number of checkpoints and guards between the outer city and inner city was no less than a hundred; how much money would be needed to get through those guards? Besides, the slightest mistake could not only lead to her being expelled from the inner city – if her twin sister Apoli found out, it would be bad.
"Reject her; this is sothing that neither you nor I can accomplish," Little Eight also understood. Having Ziyu, a servant with superb dical skills, by Number Zero’s side was like adding many lives to her own. Even if Little Eight could risk using space jump to let Number Zero enter Babylon Inner City smoothly.
But to bring along Ziyu, a living person, the chances of failure and capture were much greater than the possibility of success.
"Do you intend to make the King of Babylon preside over justice?" The Moon Goddess from the temple and the disfigured Sun Goddess, both had very noble statuses. Currently, the only person who could help Ziyu was King Hammurabi, who stood above tens of thousands.
"No," a flicker of pain crossed through Ziyu’s eyes. No matter what evil deeds Apoli had committed, she was still her sister. Ziyu couldn’t bring herself to put her to death.
"You must tell the truth, Ziyu, look into my eyes," Number Zero noticed that Ziyu had not been completely honest with her. During the conversation, Number Zero lifted Ziyu’s chin, ensuring their gazes t directly.
Eyes are the windows to the soul, and the pathway to the hearts.
Their black and white pupils t a pair brighter than the sunlight. Number Zero gazed at Ziyu from a lofty position, speaking with a master’s tone, "Since you beg to be my servant, then entrust your soul to as well, without reservation."
Ziyu’s lips, as delicate as petals, were tightly pressed together; her hands limply hung by the sides of her robe.
The black and white pupils slowly turned into a singular color -- pitch black.
Ziyu sighed deeply and said faintly, "King Hammurabi was assassinated a few days ago."
"He should have doctors with exceptional dical skills by his side, you don’t need to rush there to treat him personally," Number Zero shook her head, saying risking her life to save soone and possibly endangering her own was unwise.
"I’m not going to save him; I just want to deliver the completed law code to the king," after saying this, Ziyu’s tensely closed lips parted, "the Hammurabi Code that can change the fate of Babylon."
