Her eyes blazed with fury, and she could feel her mana surging, breaking through the limits she had always known.
The roots binding her legs shattered as her power exploded outward.
"Enough!" Gu Jin roared, her voice echoing through the forest.
She lunged at the young man, her movents a blur. She was faster, stronger, and driven by rage.
The young man barely had ti to react before Gu Jin’s fist connected with his jaw, sending him staggering back.
He tried to retaliate, but she was relentless. Vines sprouted from the ground, laced with poison, wrapping around his limbs and squeezing tightly.
The young man grunted, struggling against the poisonous vines.
"Earth Shield!" he shouted, summoning a barrier of rock around himself.
But Gu Jin’s power was overwhelming. The vines pierced through the shield, cracking it open like an eggshell.
He countered with a blast of dark energy, but Gu Jin dodged effortlessly, her movents fluid and precise.
She raised her hands, and a massive thorny vine burst from the ground, aiming straight for the young man’s chest.
He deflected it with another earth shield, but the impact knocked him off balance.
"You! Stop! If you continue to attack the 1% group will kill you right away! My friends are not far away! I am telling you!" The young man shouted.
Gu Jin calmly looked at him.
"Hey! Are you listening? I am talking to you."
Gu Jin ignored him and raised her hand to cast a plant elent attack.
The young man gritted his teeth, took out a flare gun and shot it. He also hurriedly activated a magic shield.
"I won’t let you kill ! Just wait and see how I will deal with you once my-"
The young man couldn’t continue his words because the next second Gu Jin cast her fire elent spell.
"Blazing Inferno!"
A torrent of fire erupted from Gu Jin’s hands, engulfing the young man’s shield.
The intense heat caused the air to shimr and the forest around them to crackle.
He scread in panic, "No! Stop!"
The flas intensified, cracking the magic shield and pushing the young man to his limits. His shield shattered, and he was thrown back, his wings singed and his body scorched.
"rcy! Please!" he begged, his bravado replaced with desperation.
Gu Jin’s eyes blazed with fury. She stepped closer, her hands still crackling with residual fire magic.
The young man trembled, his once arrogant deanor completely shattered.
"I-I was wrong. Please, let go. I promise I won’t bother you again."
"Plant spikes."
Whoosh.
The spike shot through the young man’s body and the magic shield was completely destroyed.
Sensing that his death was nearing the young man suddenly turned around and started to run.
But due to the injuries and the plant spikes in the way, the young man couldn’t move swiftly. He stumbled, gasping for breath as blood dripped from his wounds.
Gu Jin’s expression remained cold and unyielding. "You brought this upon yourself."
With a final surge of mana, she cast her spell once more. "Thorny Vines!"
Vines laced with sharp thorns erupted from the ground, wrapping around the young man and pulling him down.
He scread, struggling in vain as the vines tightened, their thorns piercing deeper into his flesh.
"Please... no..." he whimpered, his voice growing weaker.
Gu Jin calmly said,
"You killed my best friend and I will annihilate all of your group mbers."
Once the young man died, Gu Jin’s body trembled.
Faint blood started to drip from the corner of her lips.
Even her legs started to bend.
She knew that she had overused her magic powers and was going to faint for 3 to 7 days.
Gu Jin hated herself for being weak.
Why?
Why even after practicing so hard she couldn’t hold on against a super rank mage?
What Gu Jin didn’t know was, that her opponent was a peak super rank mage, and had so secrets because of which his magic power was much stronger.
Whoosh.
A fireball was suddenly thrown in Gu Jin’s direction.
Having no choice Gu Jin took out the compass passed on to her by Long Yifan.
The compass absorbed the attack.
"Huh? She still has so trump cards under her sleeves!" An amused voice said.
Gu Jin turned around and saw two won in a dark blue hunter uniform with so dals on their chests.
There were also two n who were standing on the side as if they were looking at so show.
The one who passed the comnt just a few seconds ago was the woman with brown hair.
The woman had brown hair fair skin and an innocent aura around her. There was also a na tag on her batch.
Ni Shulin.
The other woman had a more commanding presence, with jet-black hair tied in a high ponytail and a fierce look in her eyes. Her na tag read "Lian Hua."
Gu Jin struggled to stay upright, her vision blurring from exhaustion and the overuse of her powers.
She could feel her strength waning, but she refused to show weakness in front of these unreasonable people.
Lian Hua stepped forward,
"Yeah, I thought that she would die after killing Min Xinbai!"
"I must say I am impressed. To be able to kill a peak super rank mage, yet able to stand...she is truly interesting. Hey! How about this, you beco my slave, and I will ask them to spare you." Ni Shulin said with an admiring gaze.
Her innocent expression was enough to deceive anyone.
Seeing Gu Jin silent, Ni Shulin frowned and said with a pout,
"You are boring...sigh! Then I will give you the tag of being my pet. How is it? Are you satisfied? But if you accept the position of being a pet, you will have to listen to my command and beco my knife." Towards the end, strong malice appeared in Ni Shulin’s eyes.
Gu Jin calmly said,
"Rather than becoming a dog’s owner, I would prefer to be human."
Silence.
It took an entire 2 minutes for the 4 people to understand what Gu Jin was saying.
"Oh my god! Shulin! She is calling you a dog! Hahaha!" Liang Hua laughed.
Even the other two n couldn’t help but chuckle.
Surprisingly even Ni Shulin laughed.
"Oh my god, you have got a temper." Ni Shulin laughed. Her laughter increased and started to sound almost crazy.
"Keep up this temper....because." Ni Shulin slowly lowered her face, looked in Gu Jin’s direction with a creepy smile, and said,
"Because only then would I feel a sense of accomplishnt when I break your ego and see a look of despair on your face. Haha!"
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes,
"Ya sure. But let tell you acting like a psychopath won’t make you powerful."
The smile on Ni Shulin’s face was montarily wiped out.
Even the two n and Lian Hua felt displeased with Gu Jin’s answer.
Liang Hua stepped forward, a nacing smile on her face.
"Let’s see how long you can keep that attitude."
Gu Jin’s hand tightened around the compass, ready to use it again if necessary.
"Okay let’s stop talking, it’s getting boring." Ni Shulin said with excitent gleaming in her eyes.
"Wing Slash!"
Gu Jin watched as Ni Shulin’s hand moved with lightning speed, sending a sharp, invisible wave of energy slicing through the air.
The compass glowed, absorbing the energy of the Wing Slash, but the force still sent her stumbling back.
Even though the compass could absorb the attack, it can only absorb 99% of the attack.
If it had earlier, Gu Jin could have easily withstand the impact, but now...due to no rest, her body was in a very tired state.
She hurriedly took out mana recovery pills and stamina recovery pills.
"Hey! Looks like we have caught so rich fish! Is that mana recovering pills? And if I am not wrong they are of black rank!" One of the n with a mocking tone exclaid.
"Black rank mana recovery pills? Well, well, you certainly are full of surprises, aren’t you?" Ni Shulin smirked, her eyes gleaming with greed.
Gu Jin ignored the taunts and quickly swallowed the pills.
She could feel the effects almost imdiately, her mana replenishing and her stamina returning.
Liang Hua stepped forward, her eyes fixed on the compass in Gu Jin’s hand.
"That compass is interesting. Hand it over, and maybe we’ll let you live a bit longer."
She could clearly feel that the compass was a rare treasure.
Such treasure shouldn’t be in the hands of peasants like them.
Gu Jin frowned,
"Are you a mber of the 1% group?"
Lian Hua subconsciously thought that Gu Jin didn’t know this fact and hence she was fighting against them.
Otherwise, according to the common logic, shouldn’t a commoner like her, should get on her knees the mont they see her?
"Yes." There was a hint of pride in her voice.
