"Who’s on the call?" Azura asked as she walked in the King’s cabin, without knocking as always and Nathaniel quickly ended the call, afraid Azura would hear Elliana’s words too.
"It was just a subordinate reporting about the witch’s activities in the Southern Hills," Nathaniel shrugged and Azura humd before she plopped on the couch in front of him.
Her face had an ashen expression. It was clear she was sad about sothing and Nathaniel knew all too well what it was all about, thus, he didn’t even bother to ask her what it was all about.
Seeing her stepson walking back to the chair rather than asking her what was wrong, just like his dad, Azura scowled and huffed loudly.
Nathaniel’s lips twitched slightly before he pretended to be lost in his work.
Azura finally grew impatient and stood from her place.
"Are you guys for real?" She asked, and Nathaniel smiled.
"You were a queen just a year ago, mother. But now you are having a hard ti speaking about your wishes. How strange," He said, a hint of mockery in his voice.
Azura sighed and walked to the window to look at the snow.
"You know what my wish is about," Azura said.
"And you know what my answer is, mother. No, you are not going to the vampire Kingdom to CHECK whether your daughter is blending well in her new University or not," Nathaniel paused his pen before looking up.
"I am sure dad must’ve given you the sa answer and that’s the reason you are here," he said, and seeing her looking away imdiately, he knew he was right.
"What are you doing here anyway? Weren’t you due your appointnt to go et your mom," Nathaniel said.
One year ago after everything was done and things went back to how they were supposed to, or that was their definition of normal, Azrael went back to her maze and freed both Arizona and Rebecca.
Rebecca was obviously angry, and as soon as she was freed, the first thing she tried to do was kill Azrael for all the tornting.
However, before she could lay a hand on Azrael, Elliana, who looked at Azrael as her aunt, stood right in front of Azrael, saving her from the wrath of Rebecca.
Nathaniel sighed.
Who would’ve known things would turn out like this?
That day after the ritual was completed and Elliana’s body fell on the ground lifelessly, they thought that they lost their princess for real.
He could still rember his heartache and the kind of pain he felt at that mont.
It was nothing like he ever felt. He was pretty sure he wasn’t so heartbroken even when he was banished from the kingdom. It was almost akin to the pain of loss he felt when he found out his mom left him.
He groveled on the ground by Elliana’ side, begging the moon goddess to spare her. Azura was screaming in pure agony in the background while Misha and Azrael fell to their knees when they saw they couldn’t save Elliana.
It was a vague mont and he wasn’t even sure what happened but right during the ti of carnation he felt sothing in his heart, like a small voice that was telling him nothing was wrong with Elliana.
He sat there, holding her hand for around 7-8 hours, waiting for her to wake up.
He cleaned her wounds and gave her his healing energy to heal the external wounds, hoping she would heal internally too.
Her body wasn’t turning cold and that was the biggest hope for them to hold onto.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally felt a little movent in her finger.
He had never cried in his entire life the way he cried that day, holding her in his arms as he thanked the moon goddess and promised he would enslave himself to her for the rest of his life. That was how happy he was that day.
However, their happiness was cut short. Nathaniel saw blood collecting all around her. She had bled a lot during the ritual too, and when she was finally coming back, she was losing blood all over again.
He looked at others for the answers, but no one could give him a plausible reply until Misha started crying once again.
She was apologizing for sothing but they didn’t know what it was all about. Elliana was clearly back, right? Her fingers had moved.
As Misha has said, nothing cos back to you without you paying a price for it.
It was sothing that no one knew about, but the mont Misha opened her mouth, everyone felt silent.
Elliana was pregnant. She was 4 weeks pregnant at the ti she died, and the only person who knew about it was Misha.
Why? Because she had used her entire siren magna of 5 years on protecting the child inside Elliana’s womb from making its presence known to anyone. That was how strong her child was.
Misha told everyone that she knew if siren powers reacted and desired for a sacrifice, there was no way Elliana would’ve survived irrespective of the witch magna.
That was the reason she kept the truth hidden from Elliana. If Elliana had known she was pregnant, this would’ve been 100 tis tougher for her.
The sacrifice was indeed made. And that sacrifice was the hybrid child of the two most powerful people in the world, the ultimate strength.
However, that wasn’t all. Along with her mories of Sebastian and her ti in the vampire Kingdom, Elliana also forgot about her life in the human kingdom.
She told them all she could rember was the ti she spent with them. Everything else was a haze.
Naturally since Elliana never t her parents in her 18 years of life, the only person she could rember was Nathaniel and Arizona.
It took her a year to finally get back to being normal and not worry about other things.
She couldn’t use her magic. The glow in her hand was gone, and Azrael told them that it would only co back if triggered with sothing external.
They tried everything, but nothing worked.
One year of training in the witch University, but she couldn’t use her magic. That was when Azrael proposed to let her go to the vampire University where her friends were in an exchange student program.
They weren’t really hoping much to happen because she had forgotten all about her life there.
However, who would’ve thought just a couple hours in the vampire Kingdom would bring her the lost powers.
Her glow was returning, and if that was happening, naturally she t Sebastian already.
If his step mother found out about it, she would lose her mind and bring Elliana back imdiately and that was exactly what he and his father didn’t want.
They knew the severity of the matter. Anything was possible at this stage. Misha clearly warned them that they are not to interfere between Elliana and Sebastian. They’ll have to recognise each other through their heart and destiny if they ever want to be together.
It ca with the risk of death of either one.
But as their grandfather, Luscious, said, ’You can’t change the destiny of people who are predestined to love each other as fated mates. It was the moon goddess who brought the two of them together. It will be the moon goddess who would preserve their love too,’
"Are you even listening to ?" Azura scowled and Nathaniel snapped out of his thoughts.
"Y-yeah, I am sorry. What were you saying?" He asked, and Azura rolled her eyes.
"I swear both you and your father get on my nerves sotis," She sighed before leaving for her appointnt with Rebecca and Nathaniel looked at the photo to his left, the photo where Elliana was smiling happily with a rabbit in her arms.
Huhh... He just hoped she will find the happiness that is overdue for her for the past 13 months.
