"Are you sure about it?" Sebastian asked again, and Elliana, who was leaning into him, turned around to look into his eyes.

"What do you have in mind?" She asked, and Sebastian humd inquisitively.

"What do you an?" He asked, pretending to be innocent.

"If you are asking a question as simple as this twice, it ans you have sothing naughty brewing in your mind, and your conscience doesn’t want you to keep in darkness about it. You want to do it, but you don’t want to lie to at the sa ti," Elliana quirked her brows.

To say Sebastian was amazed would be an understatent. He was surprised how she was able to decode his emotions so well. Has she really beco a pro at reading him now?

And why the hell did it turn him on?

"And if I say that’s the reason I asked you again, will you let do what I have in mind?" He asked, pressing his fingers on the side of her waist.

"Will you?" He asked, leaning into her shoulder and sniffing her scent.

"Depends on what it is," Elliana said, exhaling a shaky breath as she felt her heartbeat picking its pace at their proximity.

"Kissing, a little bit of drinking of blood, a bit of nipping your skin, a bit of making you drink my blood, a bit of licking you, a bit of knotting -" Sebastian said the last word quickly, but Elliana who was concentrating on his sentence only, froze in her place.

"What did you say?" She asked, pulling back from him, making him look into her eyes before he pulled his mask off and let it drop on the ground beside them.

"A little bit of marking, a little bit of claiming, a little bit of letting you reign over and make you my queen for once and all. A little bit of tasting everything you are and a little bit of giving everything I have," Sebastian whispered before he leaned and rubbed his nose on hers.

"Will you marry , Elliana Minerva? Will you allow to mark you and make you mine? This beautiful body and soul, will you allow the right to be called your husband? Not as the witch’s daughter, but as the person you are. Will you make yours and allow to make you my queen?" Sebastian asked before he placed his lips on the corner of her lips.

Before Elliana could say anything, he bent on his right knee and opened the ring box from his pocket.

Elliana quirked her brows.

It was a different ring this ti, and strangely, it looked similar to their pendants. She looked up from the ring, staring right into his eyes before sighing.

"King Marino,"

"You don’t have to give your answer now," Sebastian whispered and stood from his place.

"Actually, I-" Sebastian started to speak, but before he could say anything, Lucas rushed to the terrace and looked at his King with an urgent expression.

"I am sorry, sir. I didn’t want to interrupt your ti with the princess, but this is urgent," Lucas said, bowing to Elliana.

Elliana’s expression imdiately changed.

She didn’t know why but sothing told her that Lucas was here with so bad news, and her heart skipped a beat at the thought of it.

"What is it?" Sebastian asked.

"It’s about the kingdom. The western border has been attacked by the rogue vampires. We just received the news from our border patrol. The royal army is already being deployed there under the previous King’s orders," Lucas said, and Sebastian’s pupils dilated.

"What do you an it is under attack? How many are we talking about?" Sebastian asked, his expression turning serious.

"They say more than 1000, sir. They are erging from the forests out of nowhere. It’s like the sa ti when we had attacked their camps," Lucas said.

"And no one was able to see it coming? What was the royal army doing? I think I clearly ntioned that the forests near the kingdom borders are to be patrolled daily, didn’t I?" Sebastian’s voice deepened.

"Sir, there have been multiple reports of people missing in that area. But that place is also famous for wild animals, and thus, the local police were investigating. They never found any camp in the vicinity of 50 km. That might be the reason they never reported those cases to the local royal cops," Lucas said, and Sebastian imdiately understood what was going on.

"They have appeared overnight. It ans they were planning this for a long ti. They never camped there.

Since they have exhausted themselves in traveling for such a long distance, they obviously need more energy to recuperate and be able to fight the royal army. How many casualties so far?" Sebastian asked.

"I am afraid we have already retrieved 43 dead bodies that were sucked out of blood till the last drop, sir. Around 20 bite marks on a single body. They are in a hurry for a bigger attack," Lucas said, and Sebastian nodded.

A pre-planned attack right after he beca the king.

He didn’t need soone to tell him that this was the doing of one of his enemies, and rembering how his own brothers were the pri suspects in what happened near that seashore, Sebastian didn’t know who to trust anymore.

He closed his eyes for a second, taking a deep breath to keep his beast from taking over imdiately.

He was angry, angry that their precious ti with their princess was interrupted and they weren’t able to mark her once again, but he also knew that this was sothing far more important than marking.

He clenched his hands and looked at Elliana.

"I have to leave, love. Please take care of yourself. The Principal will announce the red alert soon. Everyone will be going ho. Please return to the Black Skull Palace. That’s the safest place for you at the mont. It will protect you from the witches and the vampires too. I will be back soon," Sebastian said and was about to start walking when Elliana held his hand.

"I want to co. Let help," Elliana whispered.

Sebastian shook his head at her.

"You shouldn’t be indulging in any kind of fight. This is included in royal politics. It’s not the sa as the last ti when we attacked the camps. There are 1000s of them. I don’t want you to even get a scratch because that will make lose my senses. I want to stay sane while handling this. I am one of them, and I can’t lose my senses. I will handle it, my love," Sebastian cupped her cheeks before he kissed her forehead and left, leaving Elliana standing in her place.

She could see that this was hard for him too. And in a way he was right. If he lost his senses and his beast took over, then to recuperate his energy and wounds, he would need vampire blood too. And the moon goddess forbade him, but if he ended up plunging his teeth into the flesh of a civilian, things would take a terrifying turn.

Elliana sighed and was about to leave the terrace when she felt the dark energy around her.
