Sebastian didn’t move from his place and kept looking at the place where Elliana was standing earlier.
Everyone stood there, wary of his reactions.
"Send everyone back," Abramo looked at Prince Santo, who looked at his brother, standing in the rain, unmoving, and nodded at his grandfather before going to the other side to ask everyone to leave.
"I think you guys should leave too," Abramo looked at the family, and the ladies left with Noah.
Abramo looked at his grandson Stephano, who was also watching Sebastian, everyone staying alert in case he lost control over his emotions and his beast took over.
"Should I go check up on him?" Stephano asked but Vincenzo held his brother’s hand.
"Let him beco comfortable with his emotions. And if he becos angry, let him. If this rage stayed inside him today, it would hurt everyone in the long run. You should leave Grandpa," Vincenzo said as looked at Prince Stephano, who looked back at him.
"Are you going to wait?" He asked.
"Will you?"
"Without a doubt. We left him alone once when he was mourning the loss of his mother, I won’t commit the sa mistake twice," Prince Stephano said.
"Good, because I am staying too," Vincent said, and they went back under the shelter to communicate with the rest of the team and ensure no one got hurt.
After what felt like an eternity, Sebastian took a deep shaky breath and turned around.
He didn’t know what he was feeling at the mont.
His eyes were pitch black which ant his beast was half in control, but he wasn’t attacking anyone.
His beast was mourning. They were mourning the loss of their wife.
Was it regret? Sadness? Pain?
It confused him. He was supposed to get angry at Elliana for hiding such a grave thing from him, but rather than that, he was regretful that she left.
He wanted to stop her. He won’t lie. His heart had thumped loudly when she had raised her hands and those clouds, ice wall, thunderstorms, and whatnot had appeared.
He was so shocked that his innocent caring wife was a dark witch that he couldn’t react in ti, and she left.
He was angry. But this anger was at himself.
And along with that anger was a mixture of emotions that he wasn’t able to decipher. His heart was squeezing painfully, making it hard for him to even breathe, but...
Sebastian walked towards the box that contained all the gifts she was talking about.
’I will give you your gift tomorrow,’
’Am I pretty?’
’Mr. Marino,’
’Mr. Marino, I like you,’
’Mr. Marino, don’t act like this. Will you take to the movies, Mr. Marino? One day I want to go on a trip with you, Mr. Marino,’ her voice resounded in his ears, and he gulped.
He bent on his knees and picked up the box, an envelope catching his attention.
He tore the envelope and saw a letter inside it. It looked like a handwritten letter.
He sat beside a pillar, like a man who lost his ho, not caring about his image anymore.
’Dear, Mr. Marino,
When you will be reading this letter, I will be long gone from your life. It ca out as a shock for you, I know that. And I am sorry for every bit of it. You will be angry, and that’s understandable because of what my grandmother did to your mother. Those were the deeds of my grandmother and not . I want to say that, but isn’t this related to the blood running in my veins? I don’t expect any forgiveness from your side. You will probably not even want to hear my side of the story, and as I said, it’s understandable. I won’t be able to explain sothing that I don’t understand either,’ Sebastian read the content, his hands trembling as he took a deep breath.
’Now I know, you would probably be angry enough to tear the letter, but if you’ve stayed for this long, I guess you liked a little bit too. And everything I felt for you wasn’t just my one-sided illusions. First, I want to thank you for providing with a ho even if it was for a short ti. But more than that, I want to thank you for teaching what a family is supposed to be. You were my family, and I was never ashad of being called your wife.
These were the words that I might have not gotten the chance to say, but I want to write them for you. This is my side of the story,’ Sebastian turned the page to read what his princess wanted to say, his eyes quivering.
’Sumr after high school, we first t.
I was only eighteen when we were tied in an unbreakable knot, and I didn’t have a clue about you,
Never had a plan that I would be falling for you, you were beautiful to from the very first sight.
In your eyes, I saw the warmth of the winter sun and the coldness of the sumr night moon.
I thought I found my ho, but I was sothing, you hated with a passion without a hint. It was sothing that I didn’t know about.
My heart broke when I found out, but I kept it inside in hopes of getting a little extra of what you called care.
We never talked about the future, but it was in my head, it was until reality crumbled . Now I know you hate , but my love will always stay.
In another life, I want to be born a vampire to be loved by you, to be perfect for you,
You would never want to beco a witch, but I want to change for you,
In another life, let be your woman, keep all those promises of loving and protecting , I would be waiting.
No... I won’t ever be able to replace you, and I know I was just a useful commodity to you,
I would still choose to be that commodity if the moon goddess gave that chance because I fell for you.
In another life, don’t leave for the throne, I might act like it’s okay, but it hurts terribly,
And I know I will be the one who got away, but don’t hate too much.
And if the ti ever stopped for , just know that I wanted to die in your arms too, I love you, Mr. Marino
Please just stay happy and healthy, that’s my only wish,’
The letter ended and Sebastian sat there, tears streaming down his face as he wiped them from the back of his sleeve, looking at the letter with mixed emotions.
The words she wrote appeared like he was listening to them and he gulped. Every word had so much emotion behind it.
He closed his eyes and leaned his head on the pillar, the image of her running in his palace appearing in his mind.
The way she used to sleep just anywhere and he had to pick her up in his arms to take her back to her room, or the way she almost scared him so many tis, like when she looked like she wanted to jump from the balcony and then when she went on that water scooter alone.
The way she used to giggle at everything or the way her innocence won over him from the mont her hands touched his, and her intoxicating scent wafted through his nostrils.
There was sothing about her that was stopping him from believing that she was like the rest of them, dark and soulless who sacrificed others for their happiness.
Sebastian hit the back of his head on the pillar softly as pain was taking over his body, heart, mind, and soul.
He missed her already. His heart was calling out to her.
Sothing was building inside him. Sothing that he wanted out of his system.
"Aaaaaaaaaaa!" Sebastian shouted, holding the letter close to his chest as he mourned the loss of his woman.
He didn’t know he was capable of crying for a woman, who was a species that he hated dearly, but here he was.
He gently folded the letter in his hand and stuffed it in his pocket close to his heart, keeping it as a souvenir until he found her again.
Prince Stephano and Vincenzo looked at their brother, who was sitting on the ground at so distance before looking at each other.
They knew he was breaking slowly, and what was worse was that they couldn’t do anything about it.
With resolute eyes, Sebastian pulled out his phone and dialed Lucas’s number.
"Sir," Lucas whispered softly.
"Tell the dean of the school that Elliana Heart isn’t allowed to get any kind of transfer from the University. Block all the paths that go out of the city. She is not leaving," Sebastian ordered.
