"He knew," Elliana whispered.

"At that ti I didn’t know he was a royal prince. He didn’t know I was the illegitimate princess of the human kingdom either. That day, when we talked on the phone for the first ti when we were on that trip, it was the first ti he heard my voice after I returned. And then he connected dots and understood I was the sa girl," Elliana whispered.

"We used to et in the abandoned forests between the human and vampire kingdoms. We didn’t share anything personal. Just stay there, enjoy each other’s company until I was thrown into that prison out of the blue," Elliana said, closing her eyes, ready for his wrath.

However, it never ca. She opened her eyes and looked into his eyes, his eyes that were brewing a storm.

"Okay," Sebastian said and Elliana felt sad.

She knew he wasn’t okay. The only reason he wasn’t saying anything was probably because he didn’t want to hurt her, and the thought alone made her feel guilty.

She stood from her place and cupped his cheeks.

"I didn’t an to hide it from you, Mr. Marino. There was nothing like hiding it. I was just not sure if you would like the fact that I risk my life by racing like that.

However, it was sothing that I needed to get over my sadness. That’s the only way I have ever known," Elliana looked into his eyes sincerely.

Sebastian looked at her expression and knew she was telling the truth.

Moreover, he saw her racing yesterday. Even though he was busy with his task, it didn’t an his gaze wasn’t flickering to the screen when the host was announcing about her barely saving her life.

"And what would’ve happened if sothing had happened to you yesterday? How would you have made it up to ?" Sebastian asked, looking up at her as she was standing, and Elliana smiled.

"I wouldn’t have died. I am a tough soul. You can believe on this one. I didn’t die when I was thrown from the balcony of the third floor so many tis, not to ntion how I am still standing after losing so much blood this week," Elliana grinned like it was sothing to be proud of, and Sebastian’s heart ached for the girl.

Only she... Only she would boast about it like it was one of her achievents and use it to comfort him when it was clearly making him even madder.

Elliana sighed before stepping between his legs, looking at him with the softest expression she could muster.

"Please don’t be angry, Mr. Marino. I know that I have hidden a lot of things from you. But I promise I will reveal all of them to you one by one. Give a month," Elliana whispered.

Sebastian, who was looking at her hands that were holding his hands now, imdiately lifted his gaze to et hers.

Was it just his assumption? Was she saying it like that because only 22 days were remaining in his crowning ceremony?

Why was she making it sound like, she was planning to leave him after telling him the entire truth about -

Sebastian sighed. What the hell was he thinking? If that had been the case, she would’ve asked for 22 days, not a month. He shook his head and nodded at her.

"I will be waiting for your truth," Sebastian kissed her abdon, making her smile sadly in her heart.

Her truth would probably make him hate her more than anything in this world because not only was she sothing he hated, but she even hid the fact after knowing the truth.

He was about to ask her if she would like him to drop her off at the university when he received a call from his subordinate.

"Hello?" Sebastian stood from his place and walked so distance.

"Sir, sothing happened," The subordinate said, and Sebastian furrowed his brow.

"What is it?"

"I am not sure if it should be considered as one of their doings, but the princess’s stepmother was thrown from the balcony of the third floor, and she suffered so fractures. It’s hard to know if any witch was involved or not because the humans can’t feel them, and we didn’t enter the human kingdom to not reveal our identity," The subordinate said.

"Is that so?" Sebastian asked.

Wasn’t his princess boasting about nothing happening to her even when she was thrown from the balcony of the third floor, just a few monts ago?

Was this purely a coincidence that her stepmother who was probably the person behind it also fell from the third floor? Sebastian thought, looking at his innocent princess who was stuffing a cutlet in her mouth sneakily, making him sigh.

What kind of secrets are you really hiding inside you, my princess? Why is your life so eventful when you are supposed to be nothing more than a cute little illegitimate human?

Why are you involved with a species that I terribly hate? Sebastian massaged his forehead before sighing at the phone.

"I am leaving, Mr. Marino," Elliana waved her hand at him and he waved back, clenching his hand in a fist as his smile dropped as soon as the Princess left.

"Keep a keen observation on them for the next 24 hours and keep a lookout for any suspicious species lingering in the human kingdom or around it. Even a small hint can be very useful to us," Sebastian murmured before ending the call.

He called Lucas to have a eting with him and was about to walk to his office when he received a call from his brother Vincenzo, taking him by surprise.

Now what did he want? Sebastian narrowed his brows, rembering what his wife told him.

Everything made sense. Vincenzo’s obsession about her safety, his extra care and respect for his wife, and him always acting like he was soone who could take better care of his Princess and even going as far as threatening him, everything made sense to Sebastian now.

He picked up the call, ready to bash him if he ntioned his wife again, but what he heard made him imdiately end the call and rush out of the palace to the royal mansion.

"Grandpa wants to talk about the crowning ceremony," His words said, and it was enough for all the brothers to rush to the palace, leaving whatever they were doing.
