As soon as Elliana walked out of the bathroom, she quickly got dressed in a dark blue colored dress and wore leggings under it, pairing it with white wedges.

She wanted to look sophisticated, presentable yet honorable with her dressing sense.

It was a half-off-shoulder dress with a small neckline and bell sleeves that reached her wrists. The skirt of the dress was quite flowy and slightly pleated to the left side.

She wore a small raindrop flower pendant along with matching long hanging thread earrings that reached her neck.

Elliana looked at the mirror and applied so gloss. With a nod to her appearance, she was ready to go when she noticed her phone vibrating with an incoming call from Marcello.

She narrowed her eyes.

Right. He was calling her earlier too and she hadn’t picked up his call. What was so important that he was calling her again and again? Elliana narrowed her eyes.

She looked at the door and walked to the balcony, not really going outside, afraid so guard will hear her conversation with this Vampire Duke.

"What is it? It better be important," Elliana didn’t wait for any greetings, and Marcello chuckled.

"Seriously, you are the only person who never greets , and yet you are one of the most useful people to , and I have to bear with it," Marcello said, and Elliana rolled her eyes.

"Mr. Marcello, can you co straight to the point? You might be having so free leisure ti but other people have to work and maintain their facade. Not everyone is free and open in the market like you," Elliana said, and Marcello chuckled.

"Well, who stopped you from doing so? I have been asking you to co into the market and show us your true identity, haven’t I been?" Marcello grinned.

"It looks like you really don’t have anything important to talk about," Elliana was about to end the call when Marcello said sothing that froze her in her place.

"Black angel wings. That’s the na of your group, isn’t it? Soone is searching for information about your ladies. If you want to protect them, either shift them to so other place or send them under my supervision," Marcello said, and Elliana rembered seeing the prince’s spies there.

Was Mr. Marino still hung up about those ladies of hers? This wasn’t a good thing. If he kept looking for them, things would beco peachy soon, and it won’t be long before he will reach her. He already suspects her of planning and plotting with humans.

But more than that, he will torture them until they open up and they won’t give in so easily either.

No. She can’t let that happen to her ladies at any cost. She brought them out of that hell hole to give them a good life where they can work and earn, not because she wanted to push them into another hell hole.

Elliana narrowed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"Are you sure you are not doing this because this is an opportunity for you to have Glow under your wings and you can pursue her?" Elliana asked, and Marcello smirked.

"Glow? I will pursue her whether she stays with you or . You can’t stop from doing so. I know you will be pissed at tis, but I am okay with that. However, I am not doing this to get her. I am serious right now. People are looking for your ladies and you -" Marcello paused.

"Do you have any idea what kind of team you have made? You only know that they were specially-abled and were to be executed because that man couldn’t take care of them," Marcello played with the cane in his hand, and Elliana thinned her lips at his words.

What was he trying to insinuate here?

"You have no idea what kind of background they hold. I have searched for so of your people, and I must say, you have landed yourself in a bigger ss than you can ever imagine," Marcello said, and Elliana smiled.

Searched their background? Well, she should’ve known about it. If she is dealing with one of the most influential Dukes in the black market, she should be ready for these things.

She wanted to know more about them too, but neither does she have that kind of source and capabilities, nor does she wants to intrude into their personal life. Elliana just knows that she saved so woman that day.

How they ended up in that place or who brought them there were the least of her concerns until they go rogue and start working against her, which she was sure won’t happen easily.

"I don’t save people by looking at their identity. Besides, I am already in a hell hole bigger than you can imagine. I will handle the rest by myself with grace. Don’t worry about it," Elliana smiled before taking a deep breath.

"I will give you my answer later after talking to my ladies. We are talking about living people here and not so things that I can shift from one place to another. I will do what they want to do," Elliana said, and Marcello humd.

"Fair enough. I expected nothing less from a girl like you. It’s good to hear that you care so much about them. It’s splendid," Marcello said, and Elliana scoffed.

"I am not talking to you to gain so kind of complints from you about how I treat my team and my people. They are mine, and they will always be mine irrespective of where they stay," Elliana said.

"Calm down, girl. I am not taking them away from you. Anyway, there is one more thing I wanted to talk about," he whispered, and Elliana raised her brows.

"What is it?" She looked at the door to ensure Sebastian or anyone didn’t enter and hear her conversation.

"We want a new formula from you soon. You were talking about producing that chemical that can hide scents. It was just an idea in your head, I know. But can you start working on it? Like as soon as you can?" Marcello asked, and Elliana narrowed her eyes.

"You want that chemical now? Weren’t you the one who said the idea was lethal, and if any higher-up vampire or any other species heard , they would want my head on a silver platter? Scents are one of the things that help us differentiate among species at first glance. Why do you want that chemical now? Sothing that I haven’t even started working on?" Elliana asked, and Marcello smirked.

"Just know that it’s in demand from soone that you can afford to ss with. Just start working on it. We are ready to pay 5 billion dollars for that chemical formula," Marcello said, and Elliana scoffed.

"Do you think that I can make these chemicals at ho? I would need to go into hiding and get into contact with a laboratory. These things are not easy," Elliana hissed through her teeth, and Marcello gritted his teeth.

"What about, 6 Billion dollars? Don’t think about yourself only, Elliana. You know you can give those angel wings a good life by earning more and actually find a good ho for them," Marcello said, and Elliana scoffed.

"For the umpteenth ti, Mr. Marcello. What I need to do with my girls, and how I will treat them, you shouldn’t be worried about that," Elliana said before sighing.

"Let see what I can do about it. I won’t make any promises," Elliana ended the call before narrowing her eyes.

This doesn’t sound good. Things are just getting more peachy for her, aren’t they?
